Call Creatd on 03 93577663 They are at 11a Merola Way Campbellfield. Rob or Daniel can help and they are open weekdays. They may have a block there, but they do have 3 complete 26's in crates just in from Japan. I grabbed a couple of ex manifolds of one this morning to dummy up for the TT upgrade.

Dogbox.....in an auto car???? Do tell. Last I looked there were planetary gear sets, brake bands, solenoids and lotsa oil.
-
I was braking at 175m on the road tyres at Sandown, but eventually had to go out to 220 with the tyres going off. Talked to Crazy Frank today at Creatd and he is all on for PI as well. Getting hisself a new moto-cycle as well as trying to talk Ben into making the expedition. Creatd boys are off to Adelaide with the R33GTSt for the drags with the Bresciani gang. Should be fun. I also did some looking around the stock just in from JPY. A few exhausts, GTR34 wheelset and some aftermarket wheels, 3 RB26 engines to name a few items. Then on the way home i chatted at the lights with a white GTR34 owner. Thought the car was a Vspec but plates were GTR N1 or something. Roll cage and looked to be Targa spec. Lotsa fuel going through that on boost...."just out for a road test".

HD Systems coilovers question
GTRgeoff replied to mulldog33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I bought the HS (pillow ball tops, height and damping adjutment) from Unique Autosports http://www.nismo.com.au/ and can certainly recommmend them. Yet to get backon the track with them but I expect much better times. Very firm but handling comes at a price. -
Which motorsport requires the most skill?
GTRgeoff replied to Duncan's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Tried circuit, rally, motorkhanas, drag and hill climbs. Rally is toughest to master. Drift is crap. no times = no cred. -
What the heck is this? GTR 33
GTRgeoff replied to Tommyk's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Tommy that is a freewheel removal tool for the rear cluster of a road bicycle, also called a chain whip. It looks like an old one as well. The other end is a C spanner for tightening the old style head stem bearings. I used to be a pro cyclist and owned a couple of bike shops. If you wanna sell it let me know. I'm putting a collection of old items together to put in wall displays at home. Trying to get in touch with my inner skinnier self. The hose I can't help with but it could be a drain for water or the battery breather. -
As well left foot braking is almost mandatory to go fast in a rally car. It's a skill. Greg is just too old to get rid of bad habits

R32 GTR - break upgrade - suggestions
GTRgeoff replied to itbmils's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Big enough he should use a weighbridge.....let's just say there isn't a scale big enough for me AND the calipers -
I drive left foot brake in my autos. Allows a faster, smoother rolloff from the lights is about all. Got the habit racing karts. Practice somewheres safe and you'll pick it uo easy.

Pete, gotta call it quits.......going twin turbo Sorry mate.
-
That's why you get a set of less expensive track rims.......so they don't wreck them

Weenie like an RB20 .......... Run, flames!!! He'll need 20's to fit them! -
Sometimes you have to convince yourself there is a silver lining.... skylinegal, if the TO4 blew at 21 psi I'd be asking for a refund, and how did they determine the boost was that high? I'd suggest they should be paying for the lot,and my opinion is a small claims court would have supported that as well. This is classic faulty component and workshop dodging the bullet. If the turbo built and held boost long enough to fail the pistons should be molten waste since it seems to be a standard engine, well the injectors at least and they can't supply enough fuel to protect it at that boost. Sorry to rain on the silver lining.

I think, Andrew, that you are right at the point of needing to tinker with some handling setup programs. You are certainly asking the right questions. The understeer can be initially countered with some extra castor. I have 235 front and 255 rear and had understeer issues before pulling in some more castor. Of course I can still induce understeer. I think Roy just needs a 33, everything is BIGGER. As mentioned earlier, the wider rubber allows for greater heat dissapation, particularly when staying the same diameter or limited to near larger sizes. A general rule is just get the widest allowed on for track for the heat control aspect. On normal road rubber my best time is usually the first or second flyer, and I get slower the more laps I do, but semi's work for longer.
-
Yeah sorry mate, I should have been more specific. The deformations of an obviously mismatched tyre size due to the pressure or load will cause the contact patch to have uneven loadings, so "high points" will load more and generate more heat. The width, diameter relationship still has to be reasonable. I recall a recent article in Racecar Engineering magazine, van Valkenberg suggested maybe extending metal wire filaments out into the free airstream to aid cooling. That guy is one hell of a lateral thinker.

Cheers mate. Maybe I might have the TT upgrade ready by then too......... Snowie

Ben, maybe they weren't getting enough air over them. Marcus Thanks for hanging on to them. Other than tomorrow afternoon and around the middle of the day Weds I'm available. How about we catch up for an early lunch tomorrow? I have to come to the City briefly to pick up some piccies of my back. 0408 124 767 Another point I'd like to clarify is the tyre size issue. They will not in themselves generate more grip if they are wider, discounting distortion due to the weight and pressure. The same contact patch exists at the same pressure and overlying mass for each tyre of similar size. The advantage is in heat control and dissapation, so a wider tyre will handle more aggressive driving longer, and so until better technology comes along the onus for trackies is on getting the widest tyre possible, but on the road it's a recipe for aquaplaning........

Maybe check the power steering fluid, but certainly plug it back in and see what happens. Mine felt a bit low on power assistance after I installed mine, but only in slow corners and now I run almost 7 degrees of castor it isn't noticeable. The light removal is all I have done. The 33's have variable, speed sensitive power steering, and at about 80kmh get harder in the steering. Try it on a dry skidpan sometime . I expect the HICAS computer is at fault here though from what you say.

Roy how much did Racebrakes cost for the seal kit install again? The Nissan prices are outrageous so give them a miss, but stick with the stockies and give them a freshen. There is a couple of threads here on the perils of spending lots on brakes and you can end up with worse than what you have, especially if you upset the balance of front, rear and master cylinder swept volumes. The GTR's do have ABS so there is some margin. -
Roy has the right of it, and unless you are seriously after track performance big brake upgrades on a street car are just another piece of expensive Rice. Especially the prices people are asking for the GTR Brembos. They are about the cheapest Brembo in the range and in my view are only worth around $500 for a front pair considering the cost of really nice AP Racing calipers. The other issue is the larger pistons in BIG brakes will cause an imbalance between Master Cylinder and rear setup. On a non-ABS car you may find the rears locking easily, and having a long pedal to try to get the fronts to work to capacity as the rears still only need the same pedal travel to lock. I also hear what Pred is saying and I'd suggest that the ABS is going to be the major difference. Snowies GTR34 has pretty aggressive ABS, and so do the top end AMG Mercs, apparently, but a Rex might have trouble matching them, especially with the constant AWD setup that may influence a bit too much with the extra inertia. That said, the others a fairly porky cars.... To be honest, if some are willing to spend $100 on a master cylinder stopper then I'll add it to my list of custom fabricated components. For $50 delivered!!! Just have to finish sorting specific dimensions for each car and they're on the market.

Troy book me in buddy for at least 2 nights. I don't mind sharing a room with you again. Feel free to lob this weekend if you're at a loose end and feel like a few beers. I wanna hear what your new scheming is developing. And I wanna build you a master cylinder stopper.

Sparco Sprint race seat

What is the internal width of the seat? -
My wine rack is overflowing right now, and I'm none too impressed by the Yarra valley stuff so I might give it a miss. Sadly, having to drink some Penfolds 95 Old Vines to make room......
