Come by my place tomorrow for a chat with me and Roy then. Call tomorrow for a time on0408 124 767. I'm in South Morang (Mill Park/Epping) -
Give me a call then. I'll PM Mick and Kaz to arrange a time. I'll be off to ACT Thurs and back on the 2nd. I hear from the Big Turk (Emre) he is planning a HSV to go with the triplets. All that space will be needed.

Bet I could find out before the end of January if I wanted Cairns is a pretty small operation. ROSO for long courses is generally the length of the course plus one year. All ADFA students are subject to that requirement. The only reaon it's hard to find people to get into the Navy is cos they don't wanna have to find the golden rivet or have sump up the rump. Anyway, have a good one

FS 440cc injectors
GTRgeoff replied to Shaun's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Doh....yep High impedence. Low impedence = GTR => need resistor pack in GTS. OK then, I'll take them Shaun -
I haven't driven the Gen 3 but the older 195 and 225's were pretty doughy and sounded like vacuum cleaners. I reckon they'd be alright for long distance cruisers though with all that weight and soft suspension. The Poms in Evo mag said pretty much the same as you said. I recall the yellow HSV Coupe in my group at PI was 1-3 seconds a lap faster on semi's and had a bit more straight line after I wound off the boost so that's not too bad. Apparently he'd spent a fair bit on it though on top of the pruchase price. So you back in Melb? Up for some hard labour tomorrow then a bit of a feed after? I wanted to invite Kaz and Mick over as well so let me know.

Actually they are Mechanical Engineers, and I studied with some from the Navy there. Certainly no mechanics then (I thought you might be talking about in the labs), as swinging spanners on armour was my job before I went there to study. My greatest complaint against the universities engineering degrees system is the lack of practical and hands on effort required to get a degree, so you end up with complete poindexters with no co-ordination what-so-ever and no concept of practical application riding at the top of the class. The degree is 4 years, and the return of service obligation (ROSO) is 5 years...a year for each year of study and a year on top. Pretty standard across defence. Anyway I PM'd him to fix his details or show his timeslip. Dishonesty is not acceptable in defence. So what did/do you do in the Navy xr8eater?

I'm interested. So these are low impedence then? I realise the rail will heve to be replaced for RB25DET. -
As long as you hide indoors.....basically what Lucas said

I never knew there were mechanics at ADFA. Apparently it is supercharged and turbo'd............ Anyway, a lot of young kids are like this. We soon set them straight

Install Oil Temp Sensor on RB20DET
GTRgeoff replied to hellrazorette's topic in General Automotive Discussion
No progress Mike as I get the feeling he wants to get his hands dirty. Just pull the pressure sensor and head to Pirtek with a diagram and the temp sensor and it should be pretty easy. Should have been thinking but was a bit slow while on the forte yesterday. -
UAS are stocking them and John plans to put them in the Z race car. I have a set on the way soon with the pillow ball tops so will look forward to posting an update in the near future

Kaz, Mick - keep the domestics out of it. As far as fitting, no idea. BTW my chrissy present is new suspension -
Just Jap have ceramic 5 puck with sprung centre for about $550 exchange. Has a little give to allow driveability but can still snap the rear sideways on a fast 2-3 change. possibly not good for drag but great for the track. I'm pushing 220rwkw through mine

GTR or GTS for dedicated race car
GTRgeoff replied to maccattack's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
There is this for sale in SA. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=57539 If I had the money I'd grab it but...not liquid right now. What is worth considering is that some major effort is required to improve the suspension on the older models. Right now I'm getting whupped by my mates in the GTR's on track days. At PI it is around the 10-11 seconds per lap. Consider that sticky tyres take off an extra 5 seconds, that's still 5-6 seconds I hope to make up with fixing my diff which is open wheeling and putting good suspension on, oh and maybe a few more kW. The GTR setup is just so good straight away that I'm tempted to have one for a dedicated track car, but listen to the people who run race cars right now. There are advantages to both approaches. -
Shiv you cat....get the dvd crankin' I do understand some interesting torture techniques that can...well.......you know the rest Just play it somewhere public. You'll be safe until we get you police protection.

For a proper track spec barge I can always make it, maybe in the shoot with Snowie. just wish I had the new fron splitter.

Yeah Kaz, I'm with you on most of that but I saw what happened in the ACT over the time that they shut down the 4 and Rotary nats and then the 1/8th strip, then they chose to shut down hard the street gatherings (for good reason but without providing another outlet for the speed needy, not including me). had they instead chosen to reopen/extend the strip and gotten behind the popularity instead of the message "liking cars and going fast is evil" they could have influenced the direction of attitudes. I think the Calder straight is long enough for street drags but access back to the start would be via the rest of the track as the easiest route so there would be concerns with controlling the boy racers. I absolutely disagree with general open days on track unless the users comply with the minimum safety requirements of fire extinguisher, flag marshalls and controlled numbers ont he track. this is the reason I don't go to the Winton fun days, and the number of near miss incidents at the recent event, and Roy's car fire including the time for fire marshalls to respond, tells me that I have grounds for my argument. A track day can cost as little as $80 with some clubs plus your associated costs so it's not expensive to do one a month. The key to all of this is an environment of educated car usage and intelligent users, but not everyone wants to comply with that so we'll alway have the rebel street racer/hoon element. Unfortunately the rest of us suffer for that.
