  1. In the overtaking case you can claim self defence and it is then up to police to prove it wasn't. After the case with the motorcycle they will be a little more timid as the magistrate was pretty pissed that they pursued it. Talk to a lawyer but you should be able to defend yourself. As for the other one, you may have some difficulty and it would cost an engineer from MU automotive area.
  2. Great to hear. Always prefer the cheaper, less damage option.
  3. Once the pedals are in the right place it's almost hard not to.......
  4. At least let them know what happened and don't go in guns blazing. Tell them in a friendly initially way so "other people don't get the same problem". You might be surprised by the response and maybe some free fuel beyond the value of what you paid for. If they carry on like wankers then get the EPA and ACCC involved as they are selling faulty goods.
  5. Well if you want come by sometime and I'll show you my setup and how effective it is.
  6. Not a bad time for Barbagallo. finally someone from over there who gets on the track.
  7. Has someone shown you the different ways you can set it up for heel toe? Mine is close to perfect unless the pedal gets a bit of movement.
  8. Canberra drivers can growl about no facilities since the 1/8th was closed down (with a massive and immediate increase in street racing and subsequent hoon laws) but in Melbourne you have no right AT ALL! Unfortunately the idiot street racer culture is so ingrained that people will drive from Epping to Dandenong for the illegal drags on a friday night because it is cool, when Calder is so close. In this case I suspect the only choice is to cancel licenses and impound cars for offenders who are caught. It is much like drift in that there is no regulation of the event with clear win/lose criteria. Both participaants could come away thinking they "win" regardles of who is in front when they finish (yeah cos I wus catchin him dude but he backed off when he saw me coming). It reflects the society that doesn't impose failure criteria and the consequences and the cowardliness of the youth of today who don't want to be found out if they fail. There is no fail if you give it your best, and learn from mistakes, and try again. Street racing is crap. Join us at the track (even in a stock car) and get some real cred. We respect that, and the volunteers who make it happen (thanks blind-elk) and have a real community that doesn't really have disrespect for others or the brand they drive, as they are out there having a go. Just don't look for an excuse to rebel against authority as it effects all of us who drive modified cars.
  9. Just thinking out loud so may be wrong. Remove/disconnect the rear so that there is less individual wheel spring rate if you get axle tramp. This applies a greater damping rate (overdamped now). Set your pineapples for traction/squat and maybe soften the damping on the rear. weight is not that great an issue. unless you plan to strip lots.

    Calder 5th Nov

I think I'll come for a look but not interested in f**king my cars driveline trying to launch. 4th already has no syncros and I hate pulling the gearbox out. Setup a time for the meet Roy.
  11. Limp....
  12. I'll take red as well.
  13. Then bring it stock. We don't care if first time out you are learning and go slow, but if you come fully prepped and don't perform we may pay out a little Seriously.
  14. We'll see. Find Roy's thread for the Phillip Island weekend 13/14 Nov and come join us. Oh BTW, welcome. We'll take you through the secrets if you come down
  15. Buy PC powerplay and check their Beast and Mutant system specs, then go to a computer fair www.comtrader.com.au and save a motza. Geez Gordo, you are a true Computer freak. I bet you didn't even have to look
  16. If it was the turbo it would be a very fast noise, almost a buzzing but if it is a ticking and you lost that much oil I'm considering a big end bearing. Get it checked fast and don't drive it unless you have to. The bearing and journal can sieze causing a conrod to snap which will destroy your engine. Sorry if it sounds over the top but it isn't worth destroying an engine. I had one in mine and the ticking/tapping noise was quite loud in the garage and seemed louder on the left side. Drop the oil and look for golden coloured metal specs and flakes. If they are there a bearing is going. In that case a rebuild is needed, probably with a crank and conrod big end grind. Sorry to say will be expensive if it is but you get to rebuild a decent engine that will last ages. I hope it is not that bad but from what you say, it seems pretty clear.
  17. *looking around for the "cold bucket of water" smiley after SK's comments* As always, valuable comment. Now if only Roy would take me up on a deal on "apparently" 9.25mm lift cams. Is it even possible to make use of that much lift?
  18. After driving the S2000 I helped a friend buy I was impressed by the redline and the power icrease of the vtec but you have to drive it like you stole it to make it all happen. On the boil though it is a nice handling car. PI is a great place for them with plenty of flowing corners but Sandown would kill them with the 2 slow corners into long straights. I think winton would be a favoured place for the S2000. 40lt to 500km? I think my lynx would do that. The Lexobarge is good for almost 800km per tank (80lt @ 10km/lt)
  19. I'm off to Traralgon Sat for the night so have to ring Emre to see if he's on for a barbie.
  20. See.....it's started now! watch the fast four forums as they photochop our avatars into their trolleys.......
  21. Just stay clear of any flames out the back then.........
  22. So they keep their corner speeds down. Maybe oil works better in Vic as I'm yet to hear of a GTR lunching itself. God lets not go back there. I reckon with that power delivery mate you'll be feathering the throttle to keep the rear from lighting up out of turn 2,4 and 8. Can't see why you needed 17psi for that power though. I thought you had a real turbo. Mine came in at 15psi and you know how fat the power curve is. RB25 wins.
  23. OK I'll grab a set Al. I made enquiries recently at Pirtek and without them getting to look at the samples was given an indication of around $70 per line NON-ADR APPROVED (which is fine for a race car but not on road). So for an extra $100 it's worth the peace of mind that I can't be blamed for an accident if they fail. I'd seriously doubt it but accident investigators will look at all contributing factors
  24. Hey Leewah, I just noticed the avatar. Careful We'll start a trend. Damage caught on video will be the new rice.....
