That's a whole set of four. Price may have gone up a little but there is nothing wrong with the quality or the braking feel or power. The disc s are wearing very evenly and no signs of cracking after 5 trackdays. Ask Duncan how well it was braking at Phillip Island last weekend, and on road tyres I have been outbraking HQ racecars at PI as well. I do use Racebrakes pads with no backing shims for better feel/less pedal travel and heel toe into the corners (with a different pedal pad setup) but the car is stable and well balanced under brakes.

But for the particles to get into the oil it has to get past the pistons and rings, so they have to be destroyed, not just scored. Certainly I would agree that the filings from the compressor housing could get into the cylinders and score the bores, but again getting into the oil is a different matter. Another way for the particles to get into the oil is if the seal in the turbo was destroyed enough for them to enter that way. While the Inconel of the turbine is considered a "ceramic" it's not like the vitreous porcelain you would find around the house that will shatter easily, but it is still brittle.

I have to agree with SK in doubting the turbine particles could go into the engine, but as the turbo unbalances I have heard that the compressor can shave the housing sending particles into the intake. Anyway if I'm wrong I would be keen to see photos or hear from those who had the failure or worked on it so as to investigate it a little more thoroughly

Well team, the news is finally in. I'm off to Brisvegas next year so while I'll still be doing some trackdays, I have to concentrate on selling my house and preparing to move. I'll be organising a barbie as the weather improves so keep an eye open in events.

I have another bar to do today so I will also start the weekend orders. OK I spoke to my new boss and I start in January in sunny Brisvegas, with a program of a month away and a month home managing a team of senior tradesmen conducting technical audits throughout Qld and overseas. Best we squeeze a few good track days in, and have a barbie at my place before I go.

My postie is pretty good too and knows where I like packages left so I now have a growing doubt. Fortunately I used a bank transfer, and I'm in a position to obtain the account holders address. Add to that I am moving home to Qld next year so reparation is not an issue. If there exists evidence of pervious wrongdoings by this member then perhaps you could provide some detail. I will give the benefit of the doubt until I get home to check email and whether the package has arrived.

I understand that the code of practice for speed camera and radar units states they should not be used in certain locations such as hills. Getting the actual document will be the issue but fight it anyway. A good lawyer will make your case and hopefully obtain costs.

Didn't see the last lap times from the supersprint at PI but up until then my best was an improvement to 2:00.55 on the road rubber. Was also running lower boost at around 11psi and the same mod as Snowie.......

Also try a set of pineapples to help lower that 60ft time. $120 and easy to fit, and they do help, even with my launch unfriendly setup. Cheaper than new coilovers too.

I think what Roy is not mentioning here is due to a 'ahem' warranty replacement issue he is stuck with the RB20 as is second hand. This is also adding to the cost and all problems were pretty unexpected....and fairly so. Playing with engines can be a bit of a gamble and the unexpected can go wrong. All he can do now is swallow the pill, recoup what losses he can and stabilise the spending until he can do the strong engine build. So for now, playing sensibly with an engine that is an unkown quantity is the only logical choice. All RB's are great engines but each has its own idiosyncratic behavior and weaknesses. If he was blessed with the foresight to see all this coming, the RB31 would now be in and he would be smashing me on the track

Chris having paid for the oil pump 2 weeks ago I'm still waiting on delivery. You said it was sent Thurs the week before last. Justifiably, I am starting to get a little annoyed to you not responding to my emails. There may be a reason for this, as you may be away but I want that oil pump or a refund. Please respond ASAP.

Did anyone experience a tacho snapping all over the place on full throttle? I get an occasional miss but right through the rev range the tacho is crazy, then gets better when I lift off.
