I just had a look at their website and thay have Lap TimerKit Includes:Large DisplayInternal PowerInfrared TransmitterInfrared Receiver So the transmitter will be what is mounted at trackside to send the signal to the receiver which is attached to the timer in the car. Adz will recall the units at trackside at PI in the pits. Just IR transmitters.

Recent advice from ylwgtr was that some of the falcon twin thermo fans are very low profile so may be the solution for airflow. The radiator still needs the capacity upgrade though. -

It's only Snowmans unreliable piece of crap but after a long day then following him to Phillip Island where a fair distance has no street lights the rear light is just cruel. Thank god he turned it off....with a little "...it wasn't bothering me..." -

In NSW it is an on the spot fine to drive with them on. I've had a few cars with them and rarely used them but it was just the "look at me" wankers in WRX's that always had them....then the floggers in HSV's got them so now it appears COOL to keep them on and dazzle oncoming drivers. R34GTR's also have a really bad rear red light when the foggies are on and it is a pain to follow them. -

That might help but the problem with RB's in sylvias and 180's is common. A larger radiator is a good choice as it adds thermal mass to absorb heat spikes when the car is stationary. I recall the RB25 radiator does not fit with an RB20 as it may have been too tall. -

Too easy, refuse them a search right to the vehicle until they bring the recorder and state clearly for the record their name and badge number and the precise reason they feel they need to search the car. They are allowed to search if they have reasonable suspicion of drugs or defects (not just modifications but real defects), so keep the car clean outside and stick to your guns. Oh and the big thing at the front is a "radiator" . Seriously your best weapon is to look clean and stock and make them stay on the straight and narrow. If the recorder is on they are unlikely to be wankers. Case in point, I was pulled over for overtaking on the left in clearly marked lanes. Flogbag starts going off his nut. I stated that there is no law against overtaking on the left if the lanes are marked, but if there are no lanes it is illegal. He wanted to argue, I asked him to get the recorder from the car so we could get this all for the record, including him changing lanes without indicating or having emergency lights on. He gets in car and drives off (still hadn't produced ID and badge on request). Great credibility Plod!! If you have the letter then you're stuck though.

Gojira he also very publicly crumped the left rear into a tree so the rep as a damaged repaired car was there also.

Chris, it should still be kept in if sealed to the outer shaft and around the top of the box. I know mine is split as well so will need to come up with a fix when I go to redline lightweight also. Cable ties are your friend man Roy, a quick rings and bearings rebuild and sell the leftovers might be in order but ride them a bit for the replacement engine. 2 days to swap engines remember. Yeah Roy, lets get it fixed and dot the HSV/MSCA weekend at PI. Chris, hunt around for a similar sized boot that will fit under the trim boot. Just have to stop the "bleeding".

Excellent news Rianto. I just hope no permanent damage was done. Have you had a workshop look into the cylinders with a scope to inspect for possible bore damage? they just go in through the plug hole with the piston at BDC.

As you say, but in the environment I work in, such behavior is considered somewhat mandatory. Anyway a PM would suffice next time I'm getting carried away. I have no hard feelings, the skin is pretty thick so Lets hope we get a chance to play together on the track sometime as I understand your GTR is set up pretty nice.Back on topic, from what I have read I understand that this process really only has benefits for high carbon steels of the cast and forged variety (on the topic of ferrous based products), and accomodates precipitation to martensite from austenite which is a very brittle but hard structure. To achieve an austenite structure (which is hard but also tough) I recall a need to heat to 900+degC (yellow to almost white?)and quench in oil or water, and most discs will not reach this would they? To then transform to martensite takes a lengthy reheat to about 400degC (cherry red?) and air quenching, so some of the on car heat cycling would develop this naturally (also a clear message to continue driving to cool steadily yet rapidly in air as allowing too slow cooling like pulling into the pits straight away will allow cementite formation which makes the brakes feel like they are warped due to uneven wear). Sorry if I'm a bit fuzzy but I dont have a TTT (time temperature transfomation) chart in front of me. The last link I posted was clear though on cryo treating at any stage of the life cycle. Need to read more.

Sb as long as it is still within spec for continued use there should be no reason not to. Wish I had learnt of this earlier to treat the internals before rebuild.

Ah yes, installing that turbo whistle was just as good as putting the hair dryer on. Fortunately though there appear to be some very real benefits to cryo treatment. Might be worth investing in a cryo unit to prolong the lives of some of the bang sticks.

That's why teams have managers A good one I recall was with personal weapons in defence forces. The west usually classified theirs as accurate to 400m so the Soviet weapons were then 'upgraded' to 500m. As far as cutting air resistance by 90% goes, well Messers Bernoulli and Reynolds will be turning in their graves:D

Sure it is. A mag I read from the UK, Race Car Engineering, is very big on the team engineers role in convincing the driver of his ability to win. Any edge is worth the effort. Seems there are real benefits to cryo and drivers believing in reliability in their cars are more likely to push hard for a win.
