hear hear Laurence. Adz if you have the standard pump we can set up a good swirlpot pretty cheap using the Bosch. Just have to pay for a little welding is all and some hose. Full Sik race trick man.

I'd use the events section if anyone looked there Ash. Is there a way to display upcoming events above the Vic section when users surf there? BTW you are welcome to come along mate since Tulla is so close.

Denham. I have slotted fronts, which really only help to prevent gassout float of the pad when it get really hot. I also bed in the new pads as well as possible.

Really good performance, althought they feel a little wooden afetr an event for a couple of days. I need to bleed again I think as my pedal is dropping a bit far. They don't grab on application but resond well to increasing pressure and when you really push them hard they REALLY start to work a lot harder. I've had some track pads that you had to really muscle when cold. Price is around $150 per axle.

But unfortunately that won't fix the dismal handling, it will just highlight it. 350's have won some events recently in Dutton NSW and Vic, but that was apparently skid pan stuff with traction control (Dutton Button ) For the price, it should handle much better since they consider it a "sports" car.

Racebarkes recommend RB74 front and Comp 2 rear for the GTS25t. I'm happy with the RB74 front and the rear do very little. I also use Motul DOT 5.1 fluid and had no fade on PI or Sandown. At PI I was out braking a lot of serious track cars on semi comp rubber, but I doubt they were using their capacity. Word to the wise team. Don't spend a lot of bucks to find this is not your thing. The only people who will be impressed with your mods is yourself. Non trackies have no concept of what you do and the rest of us trackies will have loads of respect for you just for having a go. Just do the safety basics of brake pads and car fluids and get out there, but gently at first. You will sooon establish what is absolutely necessary.

Always hard to pick mate but I have the stethoscope ready if you need it. Really.

I found the engine breathless above 5000rpm and the understeer was pretty bad then snappy oversteer. Apparently for the Euro it was hammered so they improved the handling which is supposed to now be for all markets. Those were my only gripes.

I'm interested. I guess I'd be after a pair of 100W's for High beam and a pair of 55W's for low beam. Happy to pay postage to Melbourne.

This Sunday there is a Classic car show at Epping Plaza (is there an echo in here) at 11am with lots of nice cars (Porsche, Ferrari, Hot Rods and the Brock Toranasaurus) and as many Skylines as we can bring. [/color] There are prizes for the V8 Super Taxis such as breakfasts and driver meetings and pit tours so come along. As an extra bonus I thought it would be great to have a 9:30am(ish) breakfast at the usual place in Mill Park Lakes at the Lakes Cafe on The Lakes Boulevard and then head over to the plaza later to take a look at the nice machines and try win some prizes. Responses are not mandatory, but it would be nice to have an idea of who is turning up, or just turn up and grab a seat.

I'll take time out of my busy schedule to get there too.

MR33 I'll take the oil pump. Check email.

Had a couple of big moments in the wet with the tail wagging the dog, but I caught them...kinda. No offs or full spins. I'm smiling just thinking about it The ability of the track rubber allows so much more confidence and suddenly the race cars were not pulling anything in the turns, so were slaughtered on the straights. Talked to the guy with the GT Falcon after the event and he'd had a good day too but was a bit put out by getting done by skylines. Quote "And how would sir like his ass handed to him today"

Can't say I enjoyed a weekend more. My personal best was 1:58.5 on Roys Dunlop D01J's and officially 2:03 (hand timed 2:02.5) on road rubber so the difference is clear in outright track times. My times were consistent within a second and I struggeld with tail wag due to still having stock shocks. Clear insights were gained on just how good the gtr setup is out of the box (Scotsman, but on semi comp) and with minor mods (Snowie also on semi comp but with minor mods) and how much better a handler the R34GTT (Adz) is over the R33 GTS25t (wallowing tail wagging red barge). I could not hope to do 180 through turn 1 like adz but was happier on the rest of the track and had moe power for straight line so the benefits of the newer model are clear. There are some other photos by my mate Rowie (White MR2 with black bonnet) at www.rwdturbo.com My oil (castrol Formula R 10W60) performed faultlessly and still looks like new and smells new so I recommend it for a fresh engine. Adz and I did a drag down the straight passing each side of the 2 luckiest ducks on PI at about 180kmh and I took a big brave pill in the wet to pull off a 1:09 with 150 into turn 1 on the high line around a dedicated race car. As Adz said, there is nothing like blowing past V8's or finishing with faster times than a new Falcon GT (what DO they cost?) Once again thanks to the support squad and drinking buddies and here's to the next one :clink:

Sunday morning was wet, and after a couple of big moments I backed off and re-examined my lines...then took a big brave pill and dragged my wet time down from 1:20's to 1:09. I clearly have more in the car but the scary tail waggle into turn 1 and a few other places is keeping me honest. I now need shocks from whiteline .....and cheater tyres. Duncan is your tyre set still for sale?
-
Winton is Fridays Troy (and Duncan). Hope the old 58Y made it home OK. So who is going to bite the bullet and start the wrap up thread? PS I ran 1:58.5 as my fastest lap (and 2:03 on normal road rubber:( ) This was the most wicked weekend of track fun ever...REALLY 2 days of both wet and dry tracks with no major spills or lunched engines, even at 230+ into turn 1 and 165 at the apex. What oil surge Also have to mention the phenomenal drinking sessions and making a new friend in Emre (hell everyone was great). Cool GTR33 mate

If the dyno used was Bresciani's then my 220rwkw was backed up at Selectmaz very closely. It may be possible the turbo has been modified without being able to see the difference. looking forward to seeing the dyno plot. Where the hell were all you buggers all weekend? Phillip Island was awesome.

I have a PI place to park if any of the cars break. Here's hoping by being prepared we won't need it
