Hus, mate it's a piece of pi55 and you'll love every second. BTW loving Qld and missing the Vic crew.
  5. Steve at least have some cred and get an auto BA XR8 ute for towing Do a search for Scotts Rods up here in Ipswich. He is an ebay trader and has good prices.
  6. Could be worse, you could have been stuck in a tube for an hour. AC sorted on the GTR. Time to get some miles up.
  7. And if your radiator is stock, anything over a stock cap is shortening the life of the plastic tanks dramatically.
  8. I was born in Texas. Much more interesting than Porkas.
  9. In for 2 at this stage.
  10. Precisely.
  11. 5 spoke wheels are for local barges.
  12. Yep, had to really work slow to get the fit perfect but worth it in the end. I've never had trouble with thermos but bloody viscous fans are nothing but dramas on the track.
  13. Standard thermostat, but using an insert 90 on 80 off temp switch. Using the Au fans, so with a 45mm ally (50mm tanks) it has 4mm clearance to the radiator and 4 mm to the PS pulley but cannot hit either short of a catastrophic impact.
  14. I run a Ford twin shrouded thermo on an ally radiator and you can feel at the back of the car when it pulls on, and pushing through the ranges it sits perfect on 84deg and 83 at idle. Without the fan traffic driving pushes temps to 102, just for info' sake. So who wants to debate that they don't work when properly researched and fitted? Sure you are going to waste your money with a simple gutless unshrouded design, but for $200 from Autobarn you can have a decent setup. And given that the last 2 viscous fans on the race car started to self destruct I'd be inclined to go with thermos.
  15. P1 is a club where you subscribe for certain points, depending on the amount you spend, and then use them for days/km in different cars. Check the website, it details everything.
  16. Albert Park? There's your answer right there. Melbourne is full of haters made worse by the miserable one day - sh*thouse the next weather. Sif anyone takes notice of what you guys like Down There...... And a big revup to Lowndsey too. If you aren't going for the win mate then payback to the Toll HSV cretins for last year at the Island.
  17. Stock R34 is available from UAS
  18. I spent a day in her pits. Spent most of the time working on another car with a problem as hers was fine and I didn't get any of that at all. I wasn't there officially but she still made the time to come a say hello and talk a while. Aggressive driving can be useful if others are prepared to back off. Sometimes it's needed to win races. She got beat about a lot trying to crack V8's so maybe she's a bit more ruthless now. But a lot of guys have their egos tied up in not wanting Leanne to win races. Both on and off the track. Garth on the other hand was a straight out wanker in that last round of last year. I lost a bit of respect when he was straight out blocking but it is just business. And don't put yourself down. You probably aren't "most simpletons" but you can still be led by the crowd it seems.
  19. Wow, hard to dislike someone who seems as nice as she is. And Craig is a great guy. I guess life must suck pretty bad to be such a hater.
  20. Good to see someone taking it to these ar5eholes in the industry that gouge some customers and then still have their sycophant fanboys suggesting they are fantastic. Only one way to make them hurt and that is drag them to small claims. Know your subject and make them justify it on the record, then name and shame. But rule number one: always get a written quote. Good luck.
  21. Is it a clicking or a snapping noise? Snapping would be arcing of the spark from the coil pack to earth. I've seen it a few times.
  22. TT on a 25PFC. Piece of if you have a clue. Your choice of twin AFM, single AFM, maybe even MAP with a suitable converter. Clearly an old Dingo can't teach himself new tricks.
  23. I have two, connected to motors though. Try Blitz and Beer Baron.
  24. Hi Greg, good to hear from you but not good to hear of the stone. Not sure how many R8s are around for general review but if I'm a good boy James might have a small job for me. The Cooner Ute is good because Nelly can throw a few dozen plants in and I don't have to worry about upholstery. A quick sweep and it's ready for circle work. Weighing it up, I doubt that I'll afford anything better than the GTR for a long time now my earning potential is ruined. I have to say I'm suffering a little for the drive. Nerves that were damaged are playing havoc but worth every second.
  25. James, just had a quick Q from a mate. Know anything amusing about this? Has he heard about the Audi launch at Hamilton Island? I'm not sure I got the full details... Audi sent a few cars up there (R8??), and a few journos and interested buyers. the first run, some guy takes off down the runway flat out... was a small problem with the brakes (as in, they didn't work) - he left the end of the runway, but went down not up not sure how true it is!
