Probably the expensive manufacturers will have them as a pricey option. I like the look of your seats. Just wondering if I can shoehorn my fat arse into one.
-
So what car(s) are we looking for Duncan when Roy comes over to watch the video I taped. I remember now the Beemer killer was a brunette.
-
I've only just stopped laughing long enough to reply. Nice ride(s) James.
-
Talk to Daniel at Autobarn Epping. He was trying to get one of the seat manufacturers to come up with compatible mounts as the seats sat too high in a skyline.

Guys this sunday at 11am skylinesteve has organised a dyno run (well 3) for $35 at SelectMaz in Epping. Since it is only 5 min from the cafe I'm going over for breakfast and then on to the dyno runs. The dyno is RWD only. Anyone interested? Feel free to join me.
-
As previously posted, I'll be there. I also invite anyone interested to join m for breakfast at the lakes cafe, on the lakes boulevard, Mill Park Lakes, South Morang at 9:30. I've had a few people join me on other weekends (8 cars 2 weeks ago) and it's 5 minutes from Epping and SelectMaz

Hill billys drive rex's. need the AWD for the farm.

Are you the star in the Beemer with the panel damage? good one, you were so cool about it. Guys and girls. if you are interested in a track day then just make sure everything is working good, especially brakes and come along. You don't need to have a setup that will challenge Jim Richards' Porka at targa. The first few times will just be learning anyway. Take it from someone who has spent a lot of time on the track in open wheelers and sports sedans. The faster you are going the less time there is to concentrate on actually learning to drive. As the pic says, It takes 2 balls (or the mental equivalent, Kel) and be prepared to have some fun. No-one, I repeat, no-one will take the piss if you are prepared to come and try so Just Do It. Kami, what exactly is Wang stlye ? Pm me. I spent some time in Wang myself years ago working. Definitely didn't touch any schoolies though.

The only GTR I know of that came with leather seats was the M-SPEC R34 GTR

Duncan thanks for that. Too lazy to do it myself. If I have the grunt I now have a genuine 300kmh possibility.

Getting the power down is a negative...and a positive. It's a bit slippery. when you wheelspin all the way up a mountain stretch in the dande's it's lairy and fun. To be honest it's a while since I have driven a GTR but the amount of traction means you are going so much faster when you need to brake, so have to brake a lot earlier, and all that extra weight means that on the same tyres it would be pretty damn close on a track. Ultimately the GTR is a better starting point, but it depends would be the only true answer. I personally like my RWD style so stick with it for now. I have been thinking of getting rid of 2 cars to get a GTR though. 4 cars is too many sometimes.

Keep us posted then Mesh. I really should post a time for credibilities sake.

Thanks Paul. Really noticing the heat difference after driving. The cold off boost air keeps it pretty cold to the touch. Who am I kidding. Even on boost the FMIC is so big it maintains to within 1 degree of ambient temp. Warms a little after sitting though. As an update. The tar backing is not leaking out at all after hours of driving (Winton and return) or a 20min hard session through twisties. I am really impressed and the guys who see it immediately think race car.

Same with mine. Plugged and played. Isn't even screw holes to mount it in the standard brackets.
-
The base shield material is a ally foil backed with foam. Available from Clark rubber and cheap. I use it as well. The edging on the ally would be available there also Very neat job devil.
-
Was keen to get out there mate but after the sly trip to Winton was feeling pretty ordinary. Glad I stayed off the track. Rob was the guy from Creatd who tuned my car Weds. I thought he was bringing the green/purple chameleon Lancer 1.8 with 300+fwkw as he hadn't had time to sort the GTR. Did it have one of the lights cut out for air? Anyway sounds like you had some fun and nice times. So sorry to disappoint.

Parity is a curse Dan, but it stops motorsport from overdomination. Be interesting to see F1 get decent changes. First get rid of all driver aids and wings, so body downforce only. Schuey will still kick butt tho.

Well I'm whoring my garage to him at the moment. What good is an engineer who can't confidently swing a spanner. He's pretty cluey actually and seems to know what he wants. Does some damn good welding too.
-
Him I don't want to meet. He'll prolly snot me

I like meeting everyone. Met more great people today. SAU actually does have a lower Dickhead to normal person ratio than real life Specifically though: Sydneykid so I can thank him for setting me on a new career path in race engineering Steve in SA Jay up in Qld Nizmo in perth to see if she really is that cute, but I'm hooked anyway cos she has 2 imports. Mzdefectd cos i keep coming up with old threads where she is fought over by the guys. Must be a pretty special lady. Wanna count her defects too, no really.

Roy was doing 1:46.6 in the :ahem: Echo Good drive. Pity I wasn't up to a bit of track work but the back is a bit sore anyway. Now to keep the drive a secret from the better half who has no idea I slipped out while she was at work. I purposely left the helmet behind so I wouldn't be tempted and I'm glad I did. most of the guys were starting 2:05 then down to 1:56. I think ferni pulled off a 1:48 and snowie was torturing the scoobie to death and was close on Roy. I had to hand time with my mobile. The Lambo from Nations Cup was there doing 1:26. OMG it sounds AWESOME.

I'm putting a bit of effort into moving to the motorsport industry in the next couple of years (thanks Sydnekid) and the rule book is as much needed by the engineer as the engineering knowledge. I will just about guarantee that as soon as someone finds an advantage over the others they will in this order: 1. be accused of cheating 2. be copied as soon as the detail is understood 3. find their innovation ruled in or out of the competition just read the Godzilla history or any other race engineering book/magazine Then of course there are the real cheats.........

Thanks for all the feed back and compliments. I found the guys at Creatd and Bresciani to be good on the communication side, knowing exactly what I wanted. This being the second engine rebuild I don't want to do it again for a few years. I even put Opticrap (optimax) in for added security. with my tinkering I have found i have to run less boost or timing for the shell product and credit it for my first engine. The 25 hours labour was mine, so I saved $$$ there. Other quotes for my engine only, drive (tow ) in and drive away have been posted at $7000 - 9000. I personally struggle to find any mechanic worth that much since I have the qualifications myself and the parts/machining was just over 3K so say $3500. That makes the labour $3500 and at 25 hours is $140 per hour. What a farkin ripoff. Roy, Pred and Enrico all have hit the nail on the head with seperate considerations and explanations of the tuning philosiphy. Great effort guys. You'd make great engine builders/tuners IMO.

Not a problem for me anymore

Meh??
