You're scaring us..... Ignore tham Ash. Everyone has to get some sometimes, regardless of the conscequences.
-
MSPEC, there were plenty giving it some. I followed you up to the winery but no way was I going to sit close. Gave someone in a black 33 a scare (and myself) at a Tee after a sharp left with a wet line on the inside....locked the front left as the rears were still bedding and giving no braking after running on metal at Sandown last weekend so I put cheap rear pads in and had a quick machine done......there was smoke everywhere in my rearview Ni...there ought to be a law against photos like that, but strangely I was thinking something similar.
-
Then misses turns on the cruise he helps organise. No pics ash, but the sight of you turning up at a meet under the weather...hang on Claims he can handle his p(ss but is always hungover and hurting Any more?

The count at the winery was 40 Skylines, 1 Sylvia, 1 Soarer and the racing RAIDER so a great turnout. Had a great day but the busted back will take days to recover. EDIT 42 Skylines as James and one other arrived late. Have to keep the numbers right.

Yeah...needs the rear pods for effect. maybe a front attachment as well. I like to see something a bit different. like no wings. ST205 celica looks great without wing for example. Nice wheels too.

Weird things you skyline does

I'm an Engineer...we call them options Still you would be surprised how long it actually takes to remove the heat buildup. And when you turn off the temp will often rise as the steady state condition has changed and there is a slower heat loss. You would find this to be true if you placed a thermocouple on the turbine housing. I will suggest you are playing with fire if you drive for more than 30 mins anywhere and then shut down that fast, even taking it easy the last few kays. 60 sec would be a minimum. Mine (turbo timer) runs off the injector duty cycle and calculates the time I have driven harder then runs the car down while I get my stuff together. Usually 1:20 is the time but it has done over 2:00 when I have been for a fang and shut down. Anyway, back on topic. I had some rough running at 2500 rpm as the car warmed and it was pretty bad. Since it has just been balanced and rebuilt it was unlikely to be a balance issue at a resonant frequency. After some retuning and a hard run at the track last weekend....all is fine WIERD. -

Ben I disagree. The best thing is to cruise in gently for the last couple of kays and gave a minute of idle down yourself, but society just isn't like that. The return water line from the turbo can still be bubbling even after a 1:20 idle down which means the turbo is still hot enough to boil water, and that is dangerously close to too hot for oil. even so, oil remaining static can coke in the bearing region which can be somewhat abrasive, leading to shorter turbo life. The answer is the timer in that case, but the best answer is a good sympathetic driver. -

Daniel/guys count me out today. Gotta see the physio who guarantees he is going to hurt me a lot, so i gotta recover for the cruise. Sorry, next time I suppose. -
Matt no need for a deposit, I'm happy to fabricate it and drop it off, say on monday, so PM me with location. Wells thanks for the kind words. I just try to do for people what I would want happen to me, but I have been slow with a workshop CD so I'm hardly perfect. The bender sounds good. Saves removing the dash binnacle to disable the warning lamp. There may need to be a couple of designs due to the 32' and possibly 34's being different.

I normally do, but I am off work at the moment due to an injury so I'm stuck at home and bored most of the time. My work as an Engineer requires a lot of sitting, which is painful, so I spend most of the day in the garage making stuff and working on the car. I have quals that would allow me to work in one of our workshops but our (military) culture does not accept officers doing menial tasks and working in such close environments as it is bad for discipline and obedience (don't you love the sound of that stuff?), so I'm sent home to be unproductive. Fortunately I have a rigorous physical treatment programme starting soon so I will be more involved in that, score so far 1 neurosurgeon, 1 spinal care specialist, 3 physiotherapists, 1 chiropractor and 1 senior physical trainer. The least they can do for initially mismanageing my injury for 7 months. Anyway, back on topic, i can drop it off early next week if you want as the rest of the time is mine, and driving is not too difficult if I don't slam over big potholes.

Matt it's a replacement bar that simply bolts in in a 33. I fabricate them here in the garage with tap, die and MIG Welder. Fitting is easy, but you need a wheel alignment straight away as I wouldn't recommend driving far with it unaligned. The only downside is the light on the dash comes on and you can really feel the rear move with the standard subframe bushes so lockrings or pineapples are recommended. Detailed instructions are supplied with a purchase.

You've seen my donation thread but I'm just whoring here to get some coverage $100 for the HICAS lock bar, delivered and 10% to SAU

Skyline GTR breaks Sandown Marque Lap Record

Yes, even the GTS was listed as a GTR on the timesheets. Made it hard to determine who was doing what lap time. I was happy enough though to do faster times than one of the 968cs cars on semi comp rubber with Targa spec preparation. the owner was parke 2 bays away and was shocked at the acceleration I had on standard computer. Pity about the limiter though. PFC to the rescue in 2 pay days Maserati club page for those interested http://www.maserati.org.au/Quick_access.htm no times yet. -
Christ...do you sleep? ACT pollies are the most self serving fools I have ever come across, and tend to lack intelligence. Bit like a local council with a bigger stick. The strip is a goner, as is the V8SC race that they blew. Everything that ACT govt touches goes sour. Remember the Hospice demolition and that poor girl that was killed? I'v done some demolitions training and in Defence our safety distance for High Explosive (HE) on steel is 1000m. She was only 350m away. Also the Feel the Power ad campaign on the plane that got grounded? Morons!!! I was never into the street hangouts, but sometimes I would roll in to catch up with some people I knew and then leave soon after. So are you sneakily giving all the forum stalkers a day or so without access to p*** them off?

Skyline GTR breaks Sandown Marque Lap Record

Hmmmm. My mistake. I was going off NDSOC club criteria, which allows a few non-marque cars including GTR's, although GTSt's are all excluded......interesting that all 911's are included though. Here is the MSCA current competition page for Vic. http://www.cm510.com/msca/ NRB, while your putting new pads in, make sure you bleed the brake fluid, or even better, just replace it all with something like Motul DOT 5.1. Brake bleeding is not hard. -

Outside is sticking, inside is lifting. The ZR rubber has to go and semi comp in it's place. -

Road rubber just doesn't cut it, but it tried. maybe new anti roll bars? -
Bugger off you lot....I wanted them first!!!!!! I started another thread on Ben's awesome performance http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=38887 I was on stock tyres with rapidly disintegrating rear pads...had to drive home on metal so the brake shop gets some of my money to machine them. Ended up on a 1:36.1 but as you can see the anti roll bars need an upgrade. Tyres were melting pretty fast as well. Can't wait for Sydneykid to dismantle my setup and driving style from the pics. BTW he will be down at Sandown this weekend (or maybe next...he did say next today so maybe this weekend is clear for the cruise.....I'm so confused) so i for one will be going for the racing and to say hello. Hopefully R34boy (if that was him) has the pics of the 'rarri that smashed.

Hmmmmm or maybe 250K. What day is it on Gary? We have a cruise Saturday, but I'm all for Sunday to watch some more. We need pics of the crumped 360 tho...... -
Ben from Racepace in melbourne has posted a lap record for the Marque class in his White R33 GTR with a time of 1:16.8. This compares well with other slick tyred classes as Ben was driving on street legal rubber. The V8SC record is 1:10.8 by Craig Lowndes in qualifying! Bens car is quiet too, with none of the loud exhaust you expect from most hard tuned Skylines. The day was organised by the Maserati Club, with a great showing of Skylines, even outnumbering the Porsches, but unfortunately no masers. Snowman posted a 1:28 in his R34 GTR with semi comp rubber as well, and discovered the joys of Sandown after a light sprinkle but managed to stay on the black stuff all the same. My efforts were hampered by my speed cut defender dying and limiting me to 195kmh at about 2/3 straight on both straights, leaving a paltry 1:36.1 as my best. I also had a set of rear pads that disintegrated from their half worn state to metal on metal for the drive home. Time to visit racebrakes.com for a set of matching rears as the fronts were superb. The ZR rubber I was running also did it's best to imitate Snowman with their own version of "I'm melting" and proved thay are no match for good semi-comps. We also had another member from the forum on track and hopefully he will post up his pictures of a very crunched Ferrari 360.
