  1. Nice work Kev. Makes me want to be a stunt driver too Need a Brisbane franchise mate? Call her agents Bris. Maybe she will be up for it.
  2. Check it!!!!!! Suspension, Webers, Ivan Tighe cams and head work. Made about 220hp. One more thing. Drift is sh*t!!!! Rally have been sliding around for years. As if they need a judge to tell them they are good. (Note I raced rally for 15 years)
  3. Well I used double O rings on the top using 11mmx2mm O rings from Ipswich Bearing Supplies. Seal is good and the car runs but until I get off my ass and reload the injector variances it will hunt a bit on closed loop.
  4. Not without justification. I'd like to hear the arguments against an auto. Realistic argument. See if you can propose something valid.
  5. You can when the opinion is unwarranted, uneducated and untrue. Saying an auto is crap or sports cars should never be an auto is just biased ignorance, and not valid opinion. Voice the opinion when you can support it with why it should be so. Not a one liner that is really irrelevant.
  6. Auto at the strip, while I'm left foot braking and bringing revs on the stall converter should have a decent jump on a manual due to less effort in the launch sequence. I'd back the auto for eight out of 10 passes while the manual driver is lighting up or bogging down. Pity I sold the auto now. Why is it that everyone that pulls out the e-wang then has to resort to "it has to be stock"? Who keeps a Skyline stock? So when you coming to dinner with us on tuesday nights?
  7. Yeah too true mate....this is forced induction performance. We'll keep the techo stuff in the wasteland.......
  8. Why is that Noel? It might improve your 14.2 second pass mate. There are plenty of serious sports cars that are auto. Some people want a car that goes and looks good but might be disabled and need an auto or just want to take it aesy most of the time. Should we discriminate against them because you and the Magna Legend say so? Have a read about the guy in WA that wants to auto an R32 GTR N1. Best of luck to him. More highly technical and seriously thought out advice form yet another knowledgeable individual
  9. Stick to your Magna then mate. I don't think you are in much of any sort of position to tell people whether an auto Skyline rates or not. As for tracking a car, it doesn't matter what you have, you can still get it out there. I done sprints in little Lasers and Corollas just for the hell of it. Plenty of guys track their "crappo" auto Skylines too and do just fine too so a Magna would be nothing out of the ordinary. I've even seen V8 Soarers at Phillip Island doing times some of the Skylines were. Auto Skylines are seriously underrated........ but usually by the people with no track time to speak of. If you think you are using your Manual car to its potential on the roads you either have little idea of performance or you need to be locked up. The track is the only place to know. Lighting the bags is either as a result of decent power, or in most cases a combination of crap tyres and even worse suspension setup.
  10. OK the injectors Noel had are Delphi 650cc with an impedence of 2.5 ohms. The GTR 444 injectors are 2.1-2.2 ohms and the RB25 injectors are 370cc at 13.4 ohms. Anyone know where I can get 11-12mm O rings with a 7.2mm inner diameter (11x2)? They came with 14x3.5 and 15x3.5 and with lower collars that fit the GTR runner ports perfectly.
  11. I "may" have made some of that up.........
  12. As if you could drink it. It's vegemite now folks although BB would never know that, due to beer having a half life of 33 seconds in his presence (so Steve O tells me....)
  13. You can do it!!!!!!
  14. I'm no fan of the Bendix Ultimates but I'm still working on the above. So those experts that don't rate the advice above..... how many are race and suspension engineers?????
  15. Gotta love the try hards in their low powered GTSt's claiming they are gods gift to racing and knowing all about performance and driving. So my credentials: 22 years motor racing in rally, formula ford, sports sedans, more rally, sprints yadayadayada. I teach people to drive, both defensive and offensive and Tanks and Heavy double articulated and Wreckers. I'm a mechanic and an Engineer (weapons specialisation but also for a couple of V8SC teams). I own a GTS25t race car running a 26/30 engine, a 500hp GTR and I just sold a GTS25t Auto. I am pretty certain I can drive OK and know what it takes to make a car go hard. I am not some unknown from Gympie that the other liner owners have never noticed (Hell yeah mad082, PSI has never seen you at one of their skidpan events, he claims to not ever see you) So my second favourite car in the stable, even though it was hard to appreciate it in 5 cars with varying applications was the auto. My wife drove it easily, it chirped second and if I wasn't a dedicated trackie it would have been a great performer to tackle the strip. The box can handle 300rwkw as Dangerman has demonstrated and you only ever get from a car what you put into it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with owning an auto. The only reason I sold mine was to get an auto XR8 ute to tow my half cabin 18ft boat and the wife made that decision. She decided to keep the V8 Soarer until her 350GT is purchased. BTW it will also be an auto. CVT8 if you can work that out. So for the diehard manual guys........post some laptimes at race tracks. I'd suggest a decent steerer would waste you in an auto with less power. If you aren't tackling a race track regularly and claim you are a great driver you are just playing with yourselves and being the usual street racer wankers. And mad082, I'm calling you out in particular. We have a racetrack down here. Feel free to turn up. Basically sunshine...put up or shut up... or stay in whoretown and continue pretending. I'm taking the 26/30 out for shakedown next Thurs and I'm sure Paul has spots free so put your hand up.
  16. Shut up old man!!!!
  17. Thought it would be that Dan, and still friday to go before you start slaving away on the weekend jobs. Glad I'm not in that place anymore mate.
  18. Dan low impedance is the resistor value of the injectors mate. Not enough resistor means that more current can flow through the circuit and can fry the injector drivers in the PFC, or even the stock computer so Noel is pretty lucky not to have a nasty bill as well. I'll slap the multimeter on tomorrow and see exactly what they ar in comparison to rb26 and 25 injectors.
  19. Took me 5 to pull them out. Maybe this is why I have a running 26/30........... Now if only my wideband kit would arrive so I can tune it. 7 days for overnight delivery is a bit annoying.
  20. I'm currently looking at making a module to convert MAP output into something usable by a stock PFC. It should be achievable using the ramps in the Datalogit software as well.
  21. 10 years as a rapid combat repair mechanic. It's training and knowledge. People only make it hard for themselves. Could have spent 1 hour sourcing parts, fabricating a resistor pack and fitting it. But they are better off in my race car anyway. We have a saying. 5 minutes of thought can save many foot pounds of effort.
  22. BTW about 10 mins to swap them out. You guys need to get a work ethic.
  23. What injectors? I saw no injectors in the car before when I left. Just holes in the plenum.......... Now I need to get to Noels tonight and flog some O rings........
  24. Just a guess but maybe the boost controller is enabled but missing. Switch it off on setting tab 1 in FC Edit. My wideband isn't here yet so if Mick is any good and not too exxy I'll get him to do a quick setup for the racecar.
