Good on ya Noel. I'lll be joining you as a new member at SAUQld after I get out of this backward state and get home to Brisvegas. I'm surprised half this lot even understood, it'd be like a foreign language to them. Very entertaining and good to the the passion lives on. Cheers Geoff

Rb 25/26/30 Engine Parts Fs
GTRgeoff replied to GTRgeoff's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Done. Updated, forgot to mention the head is slightly pitted in the quench zones due to whatever went in and scored the bores. Photos attached. -
Dan, you bet but how much more relaxed can you get than Samui I'm sure we'll be having a few drinks, and I won't even pick on you about your ex-pat cricket team.

Rb 25/26/30 Engine Parts Fs
GTRgeoff replied to GTRgeoff's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
This is a standard side feed RB26 plenum with six throttles. It doesn't come with the section for the injectors that goes between the head and the throttles. It won't bolt up to any other RB head without an adaptor plate. One possible solution is to cut the runners and weld on a plate for the throttles to bolt up to, which is what I was going to do with it on an RB25. -
Thanks shane. I forgot to mention I'll be using 26 injectors with a resistor pack. I do have SARD 700s for the GTR. I better check to make sure they will fit.

New Section Idea - Fabrication
GTRgeoff replied to Craved's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
Sounds a great idea. Duncan may have the right format. Maybe a section on the actual making, and another on people seeking advice. -
That's right mate, no need for temp sensor, run all the 25 stuff including the TPS with a mod and see how I go with the IAC. Also from the RB25DETT I have setup a single O2 Sensor on the Y pipe. Tomei have an adaptor kit for the 26 intake to RB25 head and use all the stock kit with adaptors.

House just started again, so S3E1. I'd download it but I'm too busy with BSG, SG1, SGA and such for the wife. Might even get to dl some car stuff for me if I can rob some bandwidth..... Running 25 loom with single Z32 AFM as at this stage I won't be running enough power to make that an issue. Later I'll change to Q45 as necessary. Nice sexy stainless pipe for the single afm/twin turbo setup. Thanks for the info Cubes. I'm sure I had already seen that but with so much on I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed.

ACL pistons? Clicky the link in the sig above your post. Mark, what's up? Bored with ACT. Hows that 26/30 coming along? Brad, thanks. Mike, does an RB25DETT count? Surely the 26/30 is near enough? I saw a LAV with a vulcan on top firing over the side. I thought it would roll over at one point. Anything is possible with money....the Bond Die another Day cars actually had the stuff in them, and had to run tiny motors to fit it so possibly not practical. Great ep of House tonight BTW. Anyway, back on topic....which injector plugs should I source to make a loom for the 26 injectors? I know I should get off my ass and go into the EFI shop but it's easier to just ask and they are closed this time of night..

Just moving home Brad (if I have pistons to make the motor go - nudge nudge) and it's always been both home and gods country to me. No rain here in sh*tsville....err I mean Melbourne. Must be all up at Ingham. Mike, this project can be partly blamed on you. Love the idea of a dedicated class racing 25t. Unfortunately I have another project awaiting involving a small convertible and a quad cam V8.........

None for RB26 if that's what you mean. -

Thanks for the interest. Not interested in separating the turbos at this stage. Email preferred and sent. -
Cubes has busted me and it's time to come clean so enough lurking and enjoying the posts. Last month I decided to go the RB30 route in the 25t track barge. The bottom end is an SII DE with still perfect 86mm bores. I then decided to buy a 26 head, use a spare complete intake and use my steel wheel turbos coming off my GTR. The GTR makes 260rwkw with these on 1 bar so should have a little more in them on the 26/30. Of course doing this it only makes sense to use decent rods and pistons so forged Spool rods and hi-comp ACL pistons are to be used. I'll go with the hi/low adjusters on the front, long pump drive on the crank, baffled sump, 1.25mm restrictor, Cometic head gasket, oil cooler, 044 with 1.5L swirl pot and GTR feed pump. I'll stay with the Hybrid monster cooler as that works well already. After I have gotten used to it I'll probably shove in bigger injectors and turbos and try to run up at the 350rwkw mark, but maintaining lots down low. As always I'll build it myself but will try a new machinist to get it done fast as it has to drive to Brisbane on the 3rd of March. All I can say is I'm looking forward to the fun.

The Unthinkable- Need A Tow Hook On My R33
GTRgeoff replied to underline's topic in Western Australia
There is a thread, something about an S14 200 SX towbar will fit. Otherwise it's a custom build. Maybe try the search tool as well. -
Damn my dirty secret is out with the RB30 crowd. I'll be expected to contribute to that discussion now instead of Lurking

RB26 Injectors on hold awaiting payment. -
26/30 FTW . All coming together right now.

Anywhere from 1200 to 1500 for a head, and up to 2500 complete with turbos and all inlet bits, whereas a regrind from Tighe cams is the best option for hydraulic lifters and will improve on the 300+rwkw you can do on a stock 25 engine. It would have to be a serious engine and power target to want more than that.

Note my response to this here The bad news is this isn't the governing legislation so has no standing.

OK I said I was going to read the Act, the regulations and have reviewed the document provided by Daz. That was better than milo and warm milk. I can't for the life of me remember why I am so happy to not be a technical regulation engineer anymore........ Unfortunately the doc linked in the other thread is part of the ADR set which the states use as a guideline. Some states differ in their interpretation and can impose more strict regulations than the base level they propose. For Vics the regulations state that a certificate must be provided for any panel cut forward of the firewall. There is no interpretation possible, it can mean any section referred to as a panel be it structural or cosmetic. What remains is finding an engineer competent enough to assess the holes' location and pass it without some idiotic plate be it welded, butchered or glued. Pass the message with your feet, if they insist on the mod then go elsewhere as there appear to be engineers that will pass it without the plate and tell them why you are going elsewhere. The costs of running VASS are too high to pass up jobs. Of course if the hole is butchered, be prepared to get it supported. The engineer should take photos to support his documentary evidence so if the mod remains static the certificate remains current beyond the 30 days. If you despise the regime, make a political stand and vote Bracks out next time after talking to local pollies from the opposition camp. Don't move to Qld where the systems are still logical and cheap, I need it all for me

Short of the lean in and jump, the UZZ32 Soarer has had the active for a long time. Awesome stuff for a luxobarge. I believe Beer Baron has one.

Geezus Max, Warpspeed has probably forgotten more then you hope to know. He isn't being funny, just very matter of fact. I've done this in an RB25DET and the result was total pox until the rpm hit 4500+, then it lit right up and for a car that was fairly dedicated for track, but still road driven it was still too much compromise. At the end of the day the problem is and always returns to the fact that the cams' ramp angles are not ground correctly for hydraulic lifters. This results in early cracking of the valve seal and loss of compression regardless of lobe angles. But then some of us here have so little experience that we must be completely without a clue.

Sorry for the slow reply Troy. I'll be up around the 5/6th of March, then flying back to Melbourne (Booooo) on the 10th. I tried some reverse karma. Pre-booking tickets out of Melbourne meant I just had to be coming back to leave for the holiday and it paid off. I went to the bay to dive this morning as the weather was supposed to be sunny. Cloudy, just the first bit of sun now but 80cm waves banging in stirring it up so no shore dive today. I got the 26 head yesterday and waiting on pistons and forged rods (hopefully tomorrow) so the machine shop can go to work on the tractor engine. Mismo 1 way diff, ok shocks and a decent engine, it will be a completely different car to drive but I haven't started it since I stuffed it Feb last year. Making a rocket run this weekend to drop 2 cars up, Monday rest day then an auction in Fairfield Tuesday to see if we can grab a Reno before flying back Tues evening.
