What do you think Noob? It's just the Dutton, not V8 supertaxi round. You spending too much time on LS1 forum? Come over to Essendon. See the whole event from one place and see which cars can turn well and which smack the kerbs.

Good points, they look good, will be cheap to run, easy to drive and park and are FWD so pretty well idiot proof. Bad points, some will say FWD having never driven an improved one, and those same people won't respect your choice of car. I like them.

Stock Gt-r Vs. Modified Gts-t
GTRgeoff replied to Ionos's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I own both. GTR is my daily, GTS25t is my track car. The GTR is naturally stiffer and quicker for a novice to drive. GTS25t is my "challenge" car as I have to be more precise to go fast. -
Bolt On Spacers

Dutton Rally mate. We have a number of members competing, and the way cool Z-tune is gonna be there after 1pm. All welcome. Just drive into Essendon Airport . Also the guys will be doing laps at Sandown but I have other stuff to do after Essendon so won't get over there. -
I'm following you there Steve, in fact I believe road trauma and death gives them the mandate to tighten tolerances and Make more money. But my issue here is not cameras and government corruption, but a place to do car stuff, like skaters have for skating and footeballers have for mankickaball.

I kind of agree there Ron, but pods are a pain, and the standard panel can flow plenty with the right airbox mods. Wait for my tutorial on modifying the airbox and concentrate on a decent FMIC. Saves noise and money and heat from the police, plus you need to shield it properly. I run 260rwkw through mine on the GTR33, same panel on all Skylines. Do the exhaust from the turbo back. Look for second hand, $1600 is way too much. Even new catback from Nengun and a Batmbl or Flyn front pipe won't cost that. Don't do the BOV. Wasted on an auto, totally!! Being an auto a PFC might be too harsh for the gearbox on changes so look at the Autospeed digital fuel adjuster and boost controller. Look fro Sydneykids thread on them.

Bolt On Spacers

Are you coming to Dutton Sunday at Assendon Airport? I need to see what type of studs they need. If they can be found with minimal drama consider them sold mate. -
Try Soare Central Forum mate.

Well the flying TX5 is toast so Scott (chrisman) will be out I guess, but entries close Monday Afternoon at 5pm. That leaves this weekend to get it sorted, and with James and Troy doing Dutton leabes it a little tight. I predict a DNS at this stage.......

I saw the situation in Canberra when the 1/8 mile drag strip closed. While I had little to do with the night time car communities and their gatherings I was subject to the fallout, being a hot car and import owner. The locals had nowhere to go and nothing to do other than gather at servos and in Braddon. As these things go, illegal drags occured, idiots would leave burning rubber and sometimes a soapy mixture was laid down (I was unlucky enough to drive through it one night after dinner. The crowds became huge it was so popular. I was one other night pulled up in Braddon after dinner with several high profile public servants, some of whom I was driving in the Soarer, some of us with very high clearances and significant responsibility so misbehaviour is not our thing. Until the officers were appraised of our respective positions we were treated like scum. The local response to these illegal gatherings was "Zero Tolerance" but nothing was being done to solve the lack of a location for these kids to burn off their motoring urges. They run the Summernats there which exposes people to the things that happen, but nowhere to emulate some of the activities. they ran the 4 and rotary nats there too until they decided they did want "that type of people" there (what? as opposed to the V8 crowds with the bare chested chicks? Ok a point there.) Skate parks are popping up everywhere, footy fields are all over the place so why not a motor park? Just a flat piece of tarmac or concrete with armco around it and clearly signposted rules of usage. So much to gain, very little to lose. It would also be able to take some money from clubs as a location for tarmac motorkhanas.

Isn't it amazing in a country that worships the Great Race at Bathurst, hot cars in all forms and mourns the passing of a legend like Brocky that we have to pass laws that target "Hooning"? Seems to be a huge gulf between Australians and the people who choose the life of representing and hanging onto their positions representing Australians. Seems you can't go 5 blocks without falling over a park or open area for playing sport, one of the greatest sources for injuries and operating costs in the community (and especially Defence where I spent plenty of time consulting the safety management database looking at injury rates and causes). The real cost to the communities of sports is immense but no laws and limits are being passed on that (and god help me, more people die falling off ladders in Oz than from motoring accidents every year), but woe betide someone proposing that we have motoring skills areas in industrial areas or improved driver training standards. All it would take is a number of armco surrounded areas of bitumen or concrete no larger than 100m x 200m and drivers could play, practice and improve to their hearts content without endangering the broader community, or impacting upon their quiet enjoyment. No grass to water or cut and legislation could absolve the states of responsibility if stupid behaviour led to injuries. Regular visits by the boys and girls in blue to talk and involve themselves with that part of community, maybe even the odd demo too would break down some barriers and perceptions. It's just a concept that can teach "hoons" that motorsport is ok in the appropriate venue, and also provide a safe place for learners to practice parking and a little skid control. Zero tolerance never works, especially in a community where the object of control is a thing of passion and enjoyment. I'll be looking to move into politics in Qld once there in order to progress this kind of initiative to move away from zero tolerance and back to education and attitudes. It is not fair to provide facilities to some and not to others in the community but we need to make noise to make it happen. Any thoughts out there?

How does it work? It will modify any standard ECU by telling the ECU that the incoming air in the intake system is cold and so advances the ignition to compensate producing more power. In many cases fuel economy is increased too. Power is increased by up to 15BHP and torque is increased significantly. It will be more responsive and you WILL LIKE IT. What difference can you expect? Increased acceleration at low end revs Higher top end speed Faster 0-60 and 1/4 mile times Quicker throttle response Smooth out flat-spots Can increase MPG +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Read my thread in my sig on engine failures, then ask yourself if you want to run a Skyline on the stock computer on Aussie 98 RON fuel (Japan is 100 RON) with extra advance. Detonation kills R33 GTSt ringlands. Detonation is caused, among other things, by too much timing advance and fule with too low RON. Now this may be great on a NA car, but not on a turbo and certainly not on a 33 GTSt. You can get added power on the stock computer by increasing timing and forcing more fuel in with an adjustable fuel reg, but that is best done on a dyno where AFRs and knock can be managed.

Are these bolt on with their own fixed studs or the sandwich type that just use the wheel nuts to hold them on behind the wheel? Also thickness? Plus where are you so we can determan shipping costs? Cheers
-
Hey Roy, do you need those wheels and tyres or are you all sorted?

Another day older and deeper in debt!! Happy birthday mate.

Took a punt that this might work with my older model PFC but it halts at the Apexi logo. I need one that suits PFC with serial RB25 xxxx xxxx (or 414-N007 suits RB25 PFC which is FCC NT). This has not been tested on any other model PFC by me. Thfact that this one halts at the logo on my PFC and the serial number means this one is a 414-X001 with serial number FCC3 020-06200 which will suit PFC with ECR33 xxx xxx xxx serial. So this is a 414-N012 and suits ECR33 PFC which is FCC3 from the Apexi chart (thanks paulr33 for the detail, Paul maintains the PFC FAQ on SAU). Pic of the serial number below.

Fs: Trust Cat Back R33gtst Melb North
GTRgeoff replied to GTRgeoff's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Also the system was never tested. It was just too loud to have on my Auto. Certainly nowhere near as loud as the system on my GTR, and I'm already happy with the system on my track car so it's just taking up workshop space. -

Pic of the entire cat back is the last one. The flange at the back of the bit on the right bolts up to the flange at the front of the bit on the left. -
Dropped some D bushes and a large set of D clamps in the car tonight. Some may do the job. Get it done champ

I have for sale a Trust Catback stainless system. Found it too loud and droning on my auto GTS25t so I got a much quieter system. Much happier with the new one, but if you desire some more volume then this is for you. I predict this will sound fine on a manual but on the auto was just too much. I have had to repair the resonator. It had a crack on the top side so I welded a piece of steel plate over it. PM or email, or just post in here. Prefer pickup but can deliver if the price is right. Pics for the interested

This will be interesting....did you get some schtickers for the Latex Nuns outfit Juz??? Chris, that is so 70's mate, but I think I have some khaki ones with the super wide collars if you need them.....
