  1. Go team!! See you Sunday.
  2. Bumpage. Need to tie down a place for a meeting to make this go ahead. Entries close in a few days.
  3. Bugger me!! Went looking for Dutton info, thought I'd drop in here and it's all happening. You just have to try for the win with everything Snowy. Best BBQ. Best under bonnet BBQ. Surely Roy and I didn't set the posts that high? Jokes aside, damn sorry to hear it. Hey Bris, for a couple of beers I "may" have some GTR32 rims with good semi-comp rubber for broad minded persontin' at Dutton. Call if you need them. Also have 17's but they have the somewhat worn wet compound so not good for long distance. Snowy I've been keeping watch and there is the odd block, crank (in need of resize), rods and head about which would be a cheaper starting point for rebuild than a whole engine. Just hope you can salvage most of it.
  4. The Sexpo broad minded personsobarge is bacK? Hooray. Where are the porkas? isn't this their "special" event? Spence and I will cut from the cruise to come watch so post up viewing details.
  5. And beware....Ladazilla may soon become Lalazilla........bring back the silverware boys.
  6. Except Brisnosaurus And Ladazilla unless they return with VICTORY!!!!
  7. Sell it!! You are too chicken to own a Skyline. In a couple of weeks we will be competing in a Six hour race with some skylines in the team, and one ran in Qld in a similar event.
  8. And take Jacks number with you when the barge misses the side of the mountain. It is a fun road though. Hey, I thought you were getting a commonwhore, but that looks like an astra in the pic you emailed me......guess their 1 Bill couldn't afford a car stylist........
  9. And while you are checking nthem look for splits and cracks. I had one split and it was costing me 4-5psi of boost and heaps of response and power.
  10. Brakleen around the sensor, then contact cleaner on the sensor and the plugs.
  11. Also, when I popped a hose on the GTR, and off the cooler too so had some dismantling, I had to give it a real squirt after driving off the road some 800m to get it to stop chugging with all the carbon buildup. So if the hoses are good now take around the block and give it a squirt to get some heat onto those plugs and see how it goes.
  12. Very hard to damage the AFM's doing what you did, but if you unplugged and replugged them then there may be a dirty contact, so give those a good clean. For the AFM I use brakleen then electronic contact cleaner through the mesh. Sounds a lot like a leak though. Check everything. Being a bit older means a lot of the small hoses can harden and crack without being touched, or just a gentle movement while working on something else even though it was never really involved can crack them leaving a nasty idle and power delivery. Also pull the plugs and give a quick file and gap, and well done for not getting ripped off buying platinums and crap.
  13. Tough ask Christian. For a really trick track setup it's going to be uncomfortable on rough roads, but as you say you want to use the car on track and around town. Personally I can't go past SK's Bilstein setup with the whiteline gear, especially the bars you have which are the right size to complement the spring and damper rates. I'm yet to get the camber adjusters in but the difference is amazing compared to stock and the overly hard setups I've sampled. If you know what SK does for a living you know he'd be pretty serious about this setup and it's no dud in my opinion. Sure they are a bit firm in the morning when really cold, to be brutally honest, but only for a couple of kays, and they jiggle a little at under 50kmh but the handling is outstanding all around. There are still improvements to be made, but right now I have the ability to oversteer, understeer and peddle fairly quick at will, even have some fun through my local gorge run without her going off. I'd take it to the track but promised the wife I wouldn't, all the same I'd be certain of posting some very fast times. Ifv you get down here before the decision to buy feel free to drop in for a spin.
  14. No problems, drop it straight in.
  15. Yeah they are heavy, but they don't flutter at speed so get CF or glass but don't come bitchin when it's slapping all over the place. Even the GTR ally ones move a fair bit. I won't go on about how dangerous CF bonnets are to unprotected people if you hit them, but lets just say that if you race seriously then have one to go to the track, but for street it is just wank factor.
  16. Nice stuff, but damn they overcharge. I have plans to import a Miata under Race Rally scheme and slap a Soarer V8 in it for track. <$5K for the car, $1K for the engine so I'm thinking it will happen for under $10K doing the conversion myself.
  17. This is for all the right reasons. I expect to be there with Spence, a die hard Holden and Brock fan.
  18. What? They got a ride yet???
  19. I keep telling her nothing, but she thinks I'll be treated like a pariah by the fan-boys And it's for the wife with her buggered shoulders. Prolly still be faster than most of the GTSt drivers
  20. Actually you are right, I couldn't. [bows to the audience] Biggest difference is some Racepace tweaking and an SK suspension system. Plus being purple it's naturally faster Noticing not very many contributing here. What? All afraid to destroy the legend of V-spec? It's really just marketing BS much like HICAS. There may be some minimal difference on stock brand new cars but after some upgrades that's all out the window.
  21. It won't be the AFMs but the plugs are caked with carbon. Give it a few decent revs then take it for a drive. The reason it blows black smoke is overfuelling as the afms are seeing air sucking through but it's lost out the IC pipe. I had similar happen on my track GTSt at PI and melted my rear bumper and taillight just rolling a kay or so to the pit exit. If yu exhaust had been hot you could have suffered the same. Are you still running the stock hose clamps? What are they, like 15 years old now? Get some heavy duty ones, replace the problem ones first and watch your problems disappear.
  22. Must get one for the missus, especially if I get that matching purple GTR33 and throw in an auto ......
  23. My, we are on a shopping spree tonight Duncan........ Dane I didn't think the Utes had wings.
  24. I among others on here seem able to peddle a GTS25t reasonably fast, at least as fast on track as new XR8's and HSV's on Semi-comp rubber with a blown shock absorber but since I've put the effort into maintenance and handling setup. Certainly they aren't as naturally gifted as GTR is out of the box, but they have potential. They do have variable weight power steering, but it changes at 80kmh. Remember that the car is now probably a few years old and my old 94 models need occasional work to sort out the fatigue problems. The auto is a road car so crisp handling is not as important, but my track car is pretty lineball with the GTR for outright handling and certainly has crisper turn in and a brake feel that I much prefer to the GTR (for now) until I sort the GTR brakes. Ageing bushes, shocks and all around fatigue can detract significantly from the ride and handling so put some effort in there and see how it performs. There is a guy on here that tested a 96 M3 and found it pretty doughy with 200000km on the clock so they all suffer some weariness.
  25. Thanks again all. Had a few XXXX last night plus a bottle of red with big BBQ T bones and some Crownies then Muscat A pretty succesful day all told. Feeling a little doughy today.
