F.s R33 Parts Going Cheap!
GTRgeoff replied to vlrb25's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'll give you $50 delivered for the guard badges and rear garnish. Side badges must be red not blue though. -
Can hardly notice he's a Pom mate....so of course he comes. Need a shopping trolley for the chips and drinks Peace Al.
-
Sounds Aussie enough for me. Just as long as you're not a diehard Pom.
-
Well if you must ask for help: 1. At least accept it when given, or 2. Try work it out for yourself and don't bother asking There will be no further assistance from me Tool.

Some weeks it's just not worth getting out of bed. Peter will be missed by so many and hopefully remembered only for the good he did. My mate has a story of how they partied all night at Bathurst next to Brockys caravan before the race. He kept asking them to quiet down and they kept calling him Mr Brooks. Years later, my mate and business partner had "Mr Brooks" come in to buy a bicycle for a young James, told him the story and Brocky could only laugh at remembering that night. Rest well Brocky. You helped shape so many motoring enthusiasts lives.

What the hell is happening. Someone tell DJ to wrap himself in cotton wool. I expect I will attend.
-
SK pulls a racecar behind his Stag so it would be similar.
-
Read my sig and ask yourself if I know anything about HICAS........ Then go look for hydralic fluid lines under your car. I only have 3 x R33s including the GTR
-
Ah yes, you've seen him drive too..... cheers all. Spent an hour under the auto yesterday putting Dezz's exhaust in. It's perfect mate, quiet but just loud enough to enjoy an RB. Also got rid of the crap HKS pod and put the stock airbox back in prepping for a tutorial for all. James, hoping the new car comes in Purple. I can help with a half litre of 2pak, was only $80
-
It's electrically operated mate.
-
Dan, it's a piece of pi**. There are decent mounting points on the rear rails and you just need to clear over the exhaust. I'd have made one but circumstances prevent just yet. Custom made would not be much over $250.

Ooops! Busted!!!! Thanks guys and girls. I swear SAU (especially Vic) is better than a family. Leewah, I just knew you were one of the Wiggles. Bet you have a drawer full of skivvies. Thanks mate. Nothing special planned today but mysteriously a mate asked us over for some beers and Steak on the barbie tonight so I'll have a few I'm sure. Spence and I can roll a carton up in about 3 hours So far I've managed to plunder a new 6 Gig Sony Walkman in......midnight purple.....but yet to fit bronze TE37's and I have been allowed to get the track barge back into the garage to start work on the engine but any plans to throw in a 26 or make up a 26/30 are on hold until a contract is signed on the house so a rebuild of the 25DETT is likely. Plenty of barbed wire (XXXX) in the 500litre bar fridge so visitors welcome anytime. Not worried about getting back to Brisbane just yet and you lot don't make it any easier to leave. Cheers. You're the best.

Ultra Blue As Intake Gasket?
GTRgeoff replied to FORZA-MOTORSPORT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
blue is the weapon of choice for many a GTR owner. Doesn't leak like the stock gaskets. -
R33 Is V-spec Worth Paying For Over Std Gtr?
GTRgeoff replied to WRRR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Bloody oath! Don't want to get ripped off just paying for the sticker. Some d*ckhead put one on mine, so any thoughts on getting the stupid thing off? -

R33 Is V-spec Worth Paying For Over Std Gtr?
GTRgeoff replied to WRRR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Ignoring the part of this other R32 conversation about Brembos read on http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...p;#entry2470549 Basically different stock suspension, but usually changed and the active rear diff of limited benefit so not reaally worth it no. -
Oh no you wouldn't, brake fetish man!!!!
-
A bit steep. But for gods sake replace the idler and adjuster pulleys for the iming belt as well. $120 is the general cost for NSK.

Now: R32 Gtr Brake Upgrade Discussion
GTRgeoff replied to PSI_GTSII's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yep, takes all the wank factor out of it. 25 big stops can't be sneezed at. Seen the other thread on R32 V-specs I posted this in as well mate? maybe a comment on V-spec diffs if you have any experience but Paul down here has had some very strange goings on with his R33 with active diff, especially interesting was when the diff place opened it up (another thread entirely. -
Now: R32 Gtr Brake Upgrade Discussion
GTRgeoff replied to PSI_GTSII's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Some detail that a lot of people forget....oh and I recommend you look into RS73s group but for RDA discs. Car & Driver did a test a few years ago ...Test Car was a WRX (US Spec which only uses two piston sliding caliper, not as good as Nissan 4 spot or later Model WRX 4 pots) So tested kits were, std car, std car with upgraded pads and fluid, Brembo F50 Kit, Brembo Lotus Kit (Similar to as fitted to GTRs, 44/38mm pistons), Stoptech it and Prodrive Kit (Alcon) Stopping Distances 70mph - 0 , 3 Stop Brembo F50;_____________ 185 / 183 (Average / Best) Brembo Lotus; ______________ 200 / 196 Prodrive; __________________ 198 / 194 StopTech;__________________ 187 / 186 Stock; ____________________ 205 / 196 Stck with pads and fluid; ____187 / 184 The above figures are all in feet, one stop difference between pad and fluid upgrade to crappy sliding caliper brake setup and massive Brembos is 1 ft...lol 30cms:( And over 3 stops the average is 2 ft...lol 60cms:) So you can see the one stop max of the upgraded pads and fluid is damn good when you consider the $$$ to % difference. Surely you guys don't believe your own propaganda? It all comes down to suspension alignment, rubber and brake pads. The Sumitomo calipers will brake as well as the Brembos, all other elements being equal, until heat soak is an issue and then the larger discs and calipers will have an advantage due to thermal capacity. Not one experienced racer or race engineer will disagree that the Sumitomos have sufficient braking capacity until you exceed semis running multi lap races at full noise constantly and only a few are doing that. My track GTS25t (Sumitomos no ABS) brakes much better than the GTR33 with Brembos and ABS because of better pads and alignment not to mention more work on the other areas of the brakes like braided lines and a big beefy custom master stopper. These will come soon on the GTR but until pads need replacing the useless lumps in there will remain. As for active diffs, those that know state there is no benefit either way until you need to tighten or rebuild, and then the active is at a distinct disadvantage in terms of cost and complexity whilst the standard diff is a loosely setup 2-way. V-spec, Brembos aside = con for more bucks on R32 and the price difference is more than a set of Brembos and Wheels to suit.

Big end. But it has been a while since I had one go. You say high revving but it idles smooth so not a valve, too loud for valve train noise anyway it seems, always hard from a video, but high load on an ageing bearing can cause sudden noise. Even with a stethoscope my big end failure was hard to pick, sounded more to me like a gouged cam lobe but was a very similar noise.

Fuel economy??? Who cares??? 98 only.
