  1. What restriction? My GTR is pulling nicely to over 250rwkw with the same panel filter you find in any GTSt. Just have to make the "t" airbox breath a little.
  2. I'm not convinced I won't redo the same thing again, depending on what falls into my lap at the right time. Then again a 26 with a pair of Garret GTSS equivalents would get it going quick enough.
  3. Sometimes you have to just do what you are told Besides, we've tortured our friends for too long with climbing in the back of 2 doors. 5 cars in the driveway and all 2 doors (well the Lynx is a 3 door hatch).
  4. ***You Are 96% Evil*** You're the most evil person you know. The devil is even a little scared of you! That is so lame. I've done heaps worse.
  5. Yep, in all my searching I saw one complete set with ballasts and bulbs for about 800 delivered, the rest were exxy.
  6. Not as good as either I'm afraid. GTR2 will own all.
  7. Sorry Jimbo, has to be black, leather, cvt8 paddle shift, mostly for the lady. Believe me I like yours but have been given clear instructions.
  8. NOT that you can't drive, just driving on the other side of the razors edge
  9. Blower FTW I must have one (350GT that is, not a POS 350Z)
  10. I went ahead and did this, cost about 3K and over 30 hours of my labour as I welded a custom hard pipe inlet to single AFM. Then it died a couple of kays into the first drive when the front turbine failed and blew back into the cylinders giving me no compression on 1,2,3. Cheaper option is RB26 head or a bigger single. I just wanted something a bit unique. The way the manifold bolts up after the cut and shut is a real pain in the ass and needed a fair bit of massaging as a couple of the studs are in tricky spots. Not really sure on the extra bosses but it would certainly be an option and make for easier boltup. I'd recommend either an RB26 with custom sump or a 26 head or a 25/26 head on 30 block. After a year or so of the GTR33 I very much like the six throttle response so I'm working in that direction for the track car. Yet to get into it after so much time out with surgery.
  11. You are correct, the ports are spaced the same. When I TT'd the RB25 I just cut and rewelded a couple of the flanges, then match ported.
  12. It's not "it looks good" Jimbo, it's "I'm a weaksauce in a POS but look at me". Wanna get looked at, get a GTR (no foggies/poofter driving lights needed on them) or a sweet and sexy V35. A "trend" originally started by WRX tools and followed by flogs with HSVs so you guys are in good company if you keep driving with them on. Soak up the fines I say. Personally in the old rally car I'd just flip on the 150W Cibie Super Oscars to let them know that I was suitably unimpressed. Melts beach sand to glass at 300m Every 3rd spectator had a WRX 'cos it was "their" cool sport to watch, but too gutless to compete.
  13. Chris some of the guys on Soarer central are towing pretty big boats behind their airbag suspension V8 Soarers. Plus with about 800000km of heavy specialist vehicle operation including some serious off road time I'm not convinced. Heavy towing and heavy vehicle operation is all about attitude and planning, as well as the right braking system and balance so as long as the Magna is set up right then no problems. I trained Army drivers for many years due to my specialities, stuff like towing a triple road train through a back NT country road for a few hundred kays with a 17ton wrecker and only 290hp. We go places your average off road driver won't, say deliberately winching yourself and other vehicles down into an area for operation needs. Anyway, is you boat any good for taking diving
  14. Just shop around some hose places. Speedflow fittings are the go but you need to perfect the cutting and assembling without making a mess.
  15. I had a 76 SWB 'cruiser once. It was fun until I realised a Leopard tank will go a million places 4 wheels wont.
  16. All the best Adz. You can do anything on your birthday, even the cops won't lock you up. ps don't tell if you get locked up
  17. Roy's getting wet. He loves brake discussions........
  18. Trick question?? I can get a 150cfm air compressor that I reckon I could shove into the passenger seat. Now do you need air cond or power steering, or maybe a dry sump pump?
  19. Agree on RBF 600 and I intensely dislike DBA design and slotting method. The new RDA discs are a far superior option with a spiral curve cut groove and semi drillings so talk to a local brake shop. DBA are for the cafe racers. Also dump the cross drilled....fast. Don't use Greenstuff on a large car on the track. Even they don't recommend it. I also don't much like metal kings other than on the road. Ferodos are well liked but I don't anything more than a brief drive with them, and some of the Racebrakes pads like comp 7 or comp 9 seem fine, although I use RB74 on my GTS25t track car front and comp 7 rear, but have none of the braking problems others experience, probably since I was running mostly on road rubber. Bigger car and maybe semis think of the Ferodos. There are many that other recommend as well so hunt around previous topics.
  20. How interesting mate.......surely you heard this happen or was Kel driving [ducks and runs]. This has almost taken as long as my track car but I've just had approval to pull it in and start dismantling. So how much was the turbo rebuild and did it include steel exhaust wheels?
  21. Cams take me at most 1 hour to swap so I consider them as "unopened". Head off for improvement, slugs/rods and all that is opened. Whatcha floggin' mate
  22. Does no-one on here read?? Coilovers are stock on Skylines. Just because it has an adjustable height function doesn't change that so whether they are fixed, circlip or screw thread they are "COILOVERS". Ben, if they are too firm, or the spring and damper (shock) are not matched then you can end up with uncontrolled oscillation, or the tyre loses contact with the road over bumps (aka jumping around on the road) So adjustable height is what some plods think is illegal, but I have seen no evidence it is.
