  1. Appears as though it's just Optimax with 5% ethanol....so WTF is it 6c/L more??? Ethanol is cheaper than fuel. GTR already has 260rwkw on the stock computer with Optimax so no point changing.
  2. Doesn't seem to be responding to pm. My offer still stands.
  3. These are back with me now. Anyone want them? Hus, still considering the offer but we'll see how the sale goes, I had heaps of interest when they sold but now it's tumbleweeds in here.....Cheers.
  4. Nicely done Harry, and thanks for the kind thoughts. Unfortunately having surgery through exactly the same site means longer recovery -> can't sell the house (work to do) -> can't get home to Brisbane. And Dale.... Victoria - the place to be...defected, well if you own an import. I'm lucky I haven't had to tear a copper apart on a defect yet. Sorry so long to post. Slow recovery so I'm barely on but the pics give me some enthusiasm.
  5. Sounds like a wheel balance or a problem with the bushes as well. Get them checked out and go from there.
  6. Some points, a "coilover" is the spring coil "over" the shock as comes standard in most modern cars as it does in Skylines. What you are concerned about is the adjustable platform height systems. All those points above are simply about the travel and height of the shock and the retention of the spring. Nowhere have I seen limits placed on suspension "compliance" in legislation or traffic authority rules so a defect for suspension being too hard is not allowed. An officer handing out such a defect has no means to test and compare the spring and damper rate in a suitable scientific method that will stand up to court scrutiny. If they do intend to apply such a defect ask (politely) for them to provide the relevant legislation/rules so that you may reference it when going to court. Be firm and carry a copy of the relevent rules but make them really stand behind their decision or be prepared to accept the conscequenses. Ask for them to record the conversation as well. I have nothing against defects on unsafe cars but they have to be based on fact, not some gut feeling or hearesay. That said a really hard setup won't actually deliver good handling unless on a very smooth track, nor does lowering a Skyline too far as you probably know due to the compromised upper and lower whishbone relationship. I intend to obtain approval to conduct vehicle safety and modification inspections once I move to Qld so will have access to full details in the coming months.
  7. Hey Greg, any hard piping kits for GTR? After one for the 33.

And did El Presidente "Squeal like a pig"??? Damn sorry to miss it but I'm stuffed after just one night drinking. Damn you back surgery!!!!!
  9. Some people hide in drugs, some feel good getting pissed...... Me? I like cars. Mine make me feel good. When they stop making me feel good I piss them off and get something else. So seeing the writing on the wall my plan is, while these cars make me feel good to ensure the V8 Soarer goes, the auto R33 goes, the R33 track car will go and the Lynx goes too to be replaced with a 350GT CVT8 and some form of dedicated track car and trailer, and a ute for the work I have in mind. The GTR33 will stay forever at this stage. My mate with an RX8 and a background in decent performance cars drove it 3 days ago and is still wetting his pants. If I didn't want to feel good I'd buy a shitter, but a car has to make me feel good so the ute will prolly be an XR6T. If you still get a smile driving your car then keep it, otherwise move on but don't whine about prices. If you did drugs they wouldn't be there in the morning to enjoy again without worrying if the new batch you just scored was going to kill you.
  10. Too bad Scott, but screw the car, just as long as you are OK. Insurance looks after the rest. Now get a tow car and a trailered track car like an MX-5 for some real fun like I am. Unless you wanna buy the track car which will be on the market soon..... Seriously now though, it could have been worse so glad you're ok.

Age looks like a local. Lockup your kids and wimmin and get the washin' off the line.........YeeeeHaaaaa.
  12. You can't stop the coppertops...except with RB20 noPOWAH!!!! I'm in love with my Bilsteins....thanks SK
  13. Hey Al, hope you have a good one today. You have to take the day off sick in preparation for the pending hangover......
  14. Never had a problen using a 12" shifter. You holding your tongue right? I've only done this a dozen times.
  15. Seriously guys, this is at most a one hour job but you need some decent tools and maybe to learn to modify and bend a spanner or two. The right sockets and extensions will make life easy as well. 1. remove the O2 sensor using a large shifter 2. get rid of the heat shield. sockets/open end and large offset ring spanners are your friend 3. unbolt the top of the dump 4. jack the car, use safety stands and drop the engine pipe 5. unbolt the rest of the dump 6. replace in reverse order Be prepared to reach in and use some muscle. Don't worry about a bit of grime, it only washes off
  16. Chris, bring it over and I'll show you how to get in there, and you can bring the grill
  17. So is Matt getting a new donk for this?
  18. Nice enough welders but the smallest needs 15 Amp plug so it's not really portable or a direct plug in until you get a 15A outlet installed. Once more, the Ally and stainless needs pure argon but mild steel uses Argoshield blend. Go to BOC and talk to a salesman, they'll put you straight. Oh and for a TIG to do ally would be over 4K.
  19. But as Charlie found the fronts are too short for an R34 GTt. Sure these will be long enough for the 25t SK? I was told they'd fit the GTt too but now, unless I see with mine own eyes I won't confirm they do.
  20. I have 2 sets of 17's but one is on the track car keeping it off the road and the other is keeping air in my wet compound semi's. Sorry Scott.
  21. "crack off" is a term mechanics use to break the initial resistance a nut or bolt has. These are threaded but you may need a large mallet or bar to help if you aren't strong enough to get them to move.
  22. Spectacular 1600. Mine were all rally beasts so it's good to see one so meticulously finished.
  23. RBC charge about $120 for the pair as complete units ready to bolt in. They are standard NSK which are the Nissan OEM bearing so just call with the stock part number. There is a decent number of threads on here that will have the number listed so search. I've known of others who have pressed the bearing out and just replaced the bearing to have it fail about 5000km later. Make sure you get new grade 8 or 12 bolts. Young guy that lives nearby had mild bolts installed by the mechanic and one failed through fatigue in a couple of hundres kays. Pistons survived but new valves all around. Chris, this is the whole pulley for reason stated above. I found RBC helpful and a good fair price.
