  1. Too true. A friend of mine used to work for Jenny's and straight up told me to stop skimping breakfast, even overweight and having trouble walking at all due to the injury. I was told to have a bowl of decent cereal, 2 pieces of toast and I could still have my coffee, a couple of pieces of fruit and a smaller lunch. It's helped a lot already with a 5kg drop and no exercise at that time, while eating effectively more every day. Now I'm increasing activity, slowly so as not to re-injure the back, and that should start the metabolism working properly again. A lot different to the diet I was on with AIS but I was a lot more active, with my body demanding certain things. I even had the urge after months of really good eating and minimal fats to eat the evil KFC. Rode through the drive through on the treddly after a 120km training day (always carry cash and a phonecard!!). My dietician at AIS said it was fine when the urge is really strong as long as not too often.
  2. Too bad you can't be there. Next one is Sept. I'm sure the compliance centre does all mechanicals, but not certain what their obligations are, eg. have to replace pads regardless, have to replace fluids etc. They may or may not have to do these. It's a while since I imported cars.
  3. Definitely a concern. My spacers o the track car fit tight onto the hub ring so centering and shear loads are carried by the hub, then there is a further ring for the wheel and a different PCD of studs in the spacer. Hunt around to see if you can get locating rings to fill the space or even get them machined to suit at an engineering shop. Certainly worth the peace of mind. I've seen plenty of studs brocken and a lot were with cheap spacers you get from Superautocheapbarn.

  5. Craig and funky (Shan) are 2 different people but both will be at DECA. Make the time to come and watch a bit, and even get a ride on the pan. While J-Spec can do the pads, ou really don't want to ve paying a grand extra for pads alone. I don't exactly know if they are required to just check for wear, replace pads regardless with new or even check they have stock pads but worth having a chat on Saturday.
  6. Blitz has a set of Recaros with rails for 850. Drivers needs a cover but at that price it's really worth a look even with shipping and trimming, especially with the rails. BTW Steve, I still owe you some for the GTR cooler hoses. Much appreciated. Or are you gonna make me turn up with a few cartons once I've moved home to Brisvegas?
  7. go to search page. type in funkymonkey. click on his name then in his profile select send pm. Cheers
  8. Actually it only takes half an hour to remove and replace pads if you don't need a bleed because they are only pinned in and slide out the top. Racebrakes RB74's for the front axle were about $170 last I asked but check anyway, so that is a massive saving in itself. The labour, if you are unprepared to do it yourself would be no more than $70. Having more of a look about, it becomes more apparent to me that there is no difference between R32 N1 calipers, R33 and R34 Brembos except the 34's are gold which is usually worth about 1K extra. I had some pads in the garage I bought off jlnewton. Couple of sets actually and having checked one set are complete stockers with 65-70% left so there is an option. BTW funkymonkey works at J-Spec and is a mate of mine, and I'm seeing him and the boys from J-Spec this weekend at DECA in Shepparton so if we can't work something out then there is something wrong. I personally don't like the stock pads much so don't want to see people driving and paying a fortune on what I consider substandard product.
  9. How come you aren't coming to DECA either ya bum?? Wanna see it make smoke.
  10. Get a big front mount. Make it heaps more fasterer Al.
  11. Contact Funkymonkey. May be of assistance
  12. Where's the intercooler?
  13. Sh*t and now it's showing thumbs. WTF??? Thank god there's no stupid nostrils. It's nice, but a bit...well...yellow!
  14. You image thefter you. Bad Al.
  15. Drop it over Kaz and I'll take it up Fri nite if you want. Nell's home all week if you want to lob over too.
  16. Great, an esky on wheels. At least it will keep up. Is it entered? I love FWD for tight stuff.
  17. Spare beds on hold. The missus thinks it might be fun to talk my mate and his missus into staying both nights. Will advise as soon as a decision is made. Could be 5 minutes before leaving. Who ever let women think they can organise stuff?? AGE, no Rexies or Lada's on cruises. It's in the rules. They can't keep up
  18. Sold. Feedback left. A pleasure to do business with.
  19. I believe RB25/RB26 is the same fit and flow. Maybe someone can check FAST for you.
  20. Then best Nige and Karl be readin' this babe.
  21. My suggestion, borrow a set from someone, leave a reasonable deposit, get compliance and then send them back. Then contact Racebrakes www.racebrakes.com.au for your longer term needs. Brembo make a range of calipers and I don't believe they would build a special one for a single manufacturer application. Howard at racebrakes would know. My understanding is the Nissan Brembos are the bottom of the Brembo marketing scale and all take the same pads, but I may be wrong. Mine looked the same a a set of R34's when I did the pads on them. How will they know what pads are in there anyway if the workshop doing compliance doesn't fit them? They will just look to see what the pad remaining is and state they have plenty left.
  22. I have spare beds available in the accomodation thread. It's not that messy. Just Troy doing his thing. He's slept on the hall runner at my place when doing a late one fixing his car, just so he doesn't mess the bed up.
  23. Right then!!! I've just booked the last cabin for Fri and Sat night. I'm only planning on staying the Friday night with a mate and waiting confirmation on a second. It has capacity of one double (me ) and 3 singles so at this stage I have the following available. Friday - 1 single bed. Second TBA. Saturday - All beds available. Minimum $75 for 2 people to stay or I recall $90-95 for all 5 spaces occupied. I need to know soon enough to advise park management and pay for complete numbers on Friday.
  24. But if you had any understanding of aerodynamics/fluid dynamics you would know that in those regions the air either stagnates or circulates while the primary flow follows streamlines directly into the mouth of the tube. It doesn't do 180 or 90 degree turns so that is a complete lie. Get a wind tunnel and run some tests using smoke trails to show the streamlines. I have, I think I'm suitably qualified to argue the semantics, and I suspect Gary would agree. All you are doing is confusing the issue and misleading readers with untruths, and then attempting to say "yes but I agree". If you agree, and have nothing further of value to add, read it and zip it!!! I'm not saying don't participate, just confirm what you want to write first, and not from a sellers site where they have a conflict of interest. In fact that protruding tube, properly designed can improve airflow over an orifice with sharply squared edges of an equivalent area. This is basic stuff that a first year engineering student will learn. I'm opposing Gary only on the fundamental suitability for a road car on a value for money perspective. I've never had engine cooling problems on my track car with a bar and plate 800hp cooler, but I was only doing a max of 7 laps at a time, in fact never noticed a temp spike in either outlet temp from the cooler or engine (well other than the back end when a cooler hose blew dumping flames out the exhaust ) but it was a quite a bit larger than the size SK tested. The prices available in dezz's current buy are the best I've seen and most users won't need to split the hair on "can it do 20 laps at full noise without temperature issues." Which is best is a tough question to answer and the best answer is "It depends." Have you actually read this that you wrote? I know you wrote it but but have you actually read it and tried to match up with some things called fact and reality. I hope you get my drift here.
