R33 Series 2 Gtst Parts Fs
GTRgeoff replied to shaun77's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'm interested in the air bag wheel. COD to melbourne. Condition and photos if possible please. -
Very entertaining. I had to do this last week on the auto GTS25t. Same process. Often the first sign of trouble in the tie rod ends is a clunking in the steering when you brake hard. If you feel this then start at step 1. BTW rod ends were $130 each from Nissan or $100 trade if you can scam it

Good effort mate. You got that done fast. Also good to see how I was going against you and Chris, and where I suffered from playing the fool.......

I think the club needs to issue a statement to the media to distance ourselves from this irresponsible behaviour, stating our policies and approach to driver training and enjoyment in the appropriate venue (DECA or the track).

I've done this a couple of times. You need a 90 degree #2 or larger phillips head. Ratcet or fixed. Use 2 soft clamps to hold the window up, then unscrew the 4 screws that hold the motor in place against the inner door skin. then work the motor down the inside along the tracks so you have room to move. Now you can remove the 3 inner screws as well as an acre of skin  When installing the new one put it in as low as possible on the curved gear, then hook up the electrics and wind it gradually up into line so the door skin screws line up. Tint is safe and new motor in. Hope that helps

So close in the end. Nice one guys and well done to the big unit for a very consistent day, almost relegating Matt in the Rexie.

Or even Saturday....

Removing Hicas On R32 Gtr
GTRgeoff replied to oRiCLe's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
As noted in the many pages of my tutorial, extra castor will make the low speed heaviness almost impossible to detect and improve turn in response. -
Was some good sliding mate, but that pic just above, I just know you are making smoke in the wrong direction  You lightweight . Your losing your touch mate. and he was nodding most of the way back.......... Chicks that drive as confident and aggresive as you don't say "eek" and go all polite......do they? That was some great driving.

I got these, but that was it. Again, my compliments to all involved in organising and running. I had a great day and look forward to seeing if I was competetive. BTW to all considering Semi's...get a second set of wheels for them and do your driving on normal street rubber. The drive home in the rain was terrifying as they hunted every high spot and kept planing on deeper puddles (RE55S TT compound). The noise is like being in a rock crusher as well and massive vibrations through the car from the grooves. Good on the track and pan though. Mav_DECA.wmv

No guarantee but very strong magnets like out of a broken hard drive. I've used them to drill and ezy out cam cap bolts that have broken.

I'll be there tonight, since I don't know where the night stop is and CBF actually working it out. In prima donna competition mode.......where is my iced water....damned staff!!!!

5 seconds is easy, but that was taking it cautiously on a generously offered set of D01J's. I also had a blown rear shock so I'd suggest 7 seconds with a predictable setup and confidence in the rubber. ADZ was on stock suspension and I was on lowered stock with RSR springs, so if you can make 2:00 on street rubber then you are ready for semi's. That day though we were doing 2:03's and dropped to 1:58's. The 3 seconds was a change of the pedals for heel-toe and Dunlop SP 9000 tyres on the rear.

Damaged Rb26 Dett
GTRgeoff replied to GTR090's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'm interested. When would be a good time to come take a look through next week? This weekends a bust. Or you can send me pics and i can discuss over the phone. -
Not in Brisvegas but try UAS at www.nismo.com.au

Nice Lee. That's the one Funkymonkey translated from the R33 literature. I t basically does nothing under 80, which is when the power steering firms up. It's the same on R34 as well.....and no mid-life upgrades so I suggest if you can see your rear is moving it's time for bushes as the 1 degree is almost impossible to judge.

Won't be in tonight as I have an early start for diving tomorrow, so see you all Friday night.

At the risk of the Vics throwing up in their latte's Pity I missed it, but mate the seats there for you. Waratahs 16 Reds 12 Fists flew and blood flowed as NSW exorcised another demon to mark the start of their Super 14 campaign by grafting a late win over a tenacious Queensland last night. It was NSW's first win in Brisbane since the Super 12 started 10 years ago. The visitors' poor kicking game and the Reds' never-say-die attitude forced NSW to dig deep in front of a crowd of almost 40,000 that bayed for blood, which was delivered at regular intervals in a niggly and frequently violent game. The brawling started in the first minute and peppered the match at regular intervals, but never escalated to a point where referee Matt Goddard was forced into action.

Who was that mate? Roy Zegers isn't an SAU member. I recorded almost the whole story for Roadsense Oz -
You coming mate? I need a co-driver. Heading up Friday night.

Nah, those poofy little flames are nothing to worry about. Even my GTR pops a few fireworks but all I have to do is occasionally clean the back bumper with wax and grease remover, then wash and polish. These is flames...(thanks Shivram, BTW where is the bugger hiding?) PI HSV Flames

NIce one mate. Now I can show the wife some more pics and stop her grizzling about me spending money on the GTR... She wants 350GT CVT8 with the lot.

Nice work Amaru and thanks for sharing. If I didn't already have a macine shop here in Melbourne that I'm happy with I'd be sending my stuff to Queanbeyan.

What we have to consider here is each discreet loading at the highest load condition (90degATDC is near enough): - the vertical load from the force of the piston which is slightly greater than the piston load (due to Pythagoras) and only acts directly along the axis of the rod (since it is a simple pin joint at each end), and - the rotational load from the resistance of the big end bearing. This can be simplified to a static load in tesion on the thrust side of the rod and compression on the non-thrust side. - in the case of simple beam theory we consider the inertial forces and can determine that they have limited effect on the outcome in this phase of rotation so apply a safety factor to calculations then ignore them. In any engine the active forces have to be greater than resistance forces, else we would not have a working engine. So we can extrapolate from that statement that the friction forces from the rotation in the big end are miniscule compared to the piston thrust. This is also borne out by the fact that the bearings do not disintegrate under heat due to friction. So through superposition of forces the tensile (negative and miniscule) force on the thrust side of the rod + the compressive piston force (positive and very large) gives a slightly smaller but still large compressive load on that side. Additionally the non thrust side will be a compressive + a compressive so will be slightly larger overall. I hope that helps you understand.

Nice to know. Thanks mate
