Didn't need to time anyway, just enjoy.

Last person I spoke to was pi55ed that they were totally unhelpful with the cooling failures. He had to put a bag of ice on his to drive anywhere, and they sent a new one that was the same and couldn't be bothered after that. Never been a fan of Wolf products and I guess it shows. Get a PFC or get a Motec if you need to step up from that. But if you want a reasonably priced tuner try Mick at Signature Performance in Ipswich. Has been looking after club members extremely well, and would turn his hand to any product with common sense and expertise without breaking your bank.

Big thanks to you Paul. I never thought to toss you the keys instead of leaving early. Still suffering mate, but worth every second to get back on my old home track after 21 years.

Join SAUQld, stay in touch with the coolest 'liners around and enter in our skidpan days, track days with mountain runner and whatever other events come along, as long as you can get someone to drive you there.

Get a Recaro with Skyline Rails. I have fitted 2 in the GTR. Lower than stock and handles my 115kegs without flexing like the crap stock ones. Never bothered getting a time. It was supposed to be an 80% day as we establish ourselves on the track. If I never see that Yellow piece of rubbish again I'll be happy.

No, not cool those ones Tiff. I've had and removed them on 3 Skylines. Too many sharp corners that pick up with age, catch on the underside of car covers or microfibre washcloths and destroy themselves over time.

Nice shots Chris. I had to leave at lunchtime. The injury was giving me gyp so time to leave before pushing my luck. Absolutely screwed today. I'll get the picks Pete took up on sauqld

Ahhh, so a drift car. I wish he would keep it a secret. It's rubbish. I did a tiny vid for all.

Actually had the GTR out at Lakeside today. The racecar is still getting body parts fitted with undertray and rear diffuser. Might be ready for a tune in about a month or 2

Most likely to pretend he was Antonio Banderas some more..........

No he's thinking of pre turbo....must have had a whole beer by now and can't think

Lakeside was fun. Just needed my semis to pull a few seconds of lap time out. The street rubber sucked across the face of the corners and I just had to use the throttle to get attitude through the corners. The somewhat overdone HSV with all the stickering just had the mid corner speed on me with his race rubber so I had to let him through. No point spoiling his fun today but with semis I would have had him on toast, likely I'd have had to step up to group one. Can't wait to the the 26/30 powered track barge out there to scare a few folks. That yellow 33, for all it's slicks and poop was an absolute piece of junk. Way too low to handle properly and very poorly presented but what a wanker. He was trying to take up about 4 car spaces along the pit exit and trying to force everyone to go right out around his spot by an extra car length so he could just drive along and put it on blocks so he could install yet more cable ties to hold it together. Not surprised he was too arrogant to get out of the way to let a faster car through and cracked under the pressure.

You idiot Shane......suck closed on the huffer side of the turbo????

33gtr High Idle After Throttle Body Gaskets Replaced
GTRgeoff replied to cefiro's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Just lob into autobarn or supercheap and look on the shelves for the ultra blue gasket. Nail polish sounds good, but becomes very hard and may not adhere very well if some fuel gets backfired into the throttles or some oiling of the intake occurs through the crankcase return. -
My Restoration
GTRgeoff replied to Godzilla32's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Since it is the wastgate return probably not much value. My cheap ebay knockoffs were pretty poorly done in that region so I hooked in with the die grinder. The overall result of some highflows, the tubular manifolds and dumps is a lazy 320rwkw at 14psi and very good response. I was at Lakeside today and the GTR was so easy to point on the throttle it was a joy, plus I was able to stay on the rivet with caged and semi slicked cars with my nearly stuffed rear street rubber and crap Falkens on the front, and I put it down to the sheer driveability and responsiveness of the hot side of the engine. I only lacked speed across the face of the corner where the sticky rubber makes its greatest impact. -
My Restoration
GTRgeoff replied to Godzilla32's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Don't tempt him too much Paul. The poor lad is broke. Now those dumps look exactly like mine Deren, which I'm sure is what they were copied off. How is the welding around the wastegate join? I had a fair bit of cleanup on mine but otherwise were very very nice. My Manifolds are also made with the mounts for the heat shields....must be another copy -
33gtr High Idle After Throttle Body Gaskets Replaced
GTRgeoff replied to cefiro's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'll grab some photos on the inside of a spare set of TBs I have on Sunday. The sealant inside often looks like some dodgy old neoprene. I've never seen grey paint. My repair method for those interested, is to first clean completely with wax and grease remover, then use the old favourite Ultra blue silicone sealant, thin it a little and paint it on the closed butterfly one the side it moves away from, allow to set overnight or as long as it needs and then run a fine blade around the interface at about 45 deg, then gently open. If any tears away then reclean and reapply until it is right. Sounds like they are trying to dodge it. It should have run as well as it went in. Time for them to face up and get it right. -
Yes!!! (strokes imaginary beard) We are very cool

Paul, Simon says they have dropped a second with the green surface, but expect to gain again after a few months when it sets and then cools off a bit. Simon is running a Purple Sileighty with a nicely worked RB25 and massive rear wang Rear anti roll seems a little soft, he added an extra hole on my suggestion to firm it up more and feels it is a massive improvement to the understeer and left rear squat that was happening out of the final turn onto the straight at QR. So with more confidence in the car now he should start to get quicker.

33gtr High Idle After Throttle Body Gaskets Replaced
GTRgeoff replied to cefiro's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
There is a thin piece of sealant that looks like gunk, and everyone that cleans it out gets a high idle. I've never has to but I am certain I can repair it. Ask him if he cleaned the butterflies and bores completely and if he did tell him to fix it. Also the paper gaskets dry out and leak. A regular problem on GTRs so those in the know use the ultra blue silicone in a very thin film. -
LFS has had a number of improvements to the physics. Plus online there are always heaps of drift sessions for those who can't drive properly or have difficulty finding joy in the perfect fast lap. It really is quite good now, consider it was written by 3 guys on their own that have continued improving. Drifting on a platform arcade game is like hitting on your retarded sister. Probably feels really good at the time, but later on when you discover the real thing you realise it was completely wrong and you were just taking advantage of something that didn't know any better.

From memory between 6.5 and 7 degrees. Check the SK group buys for whiteline suspension.
-
Just use whiteline eccentric bolt urethane bushes in the standard arms. There are some rose joints you can buy that are sealed so would pass casual inspection.
-
Not to shabby. One of my mates is currently doing low 58s and has a real suspension drama. Once I get hin to sort that it should have about a second in it. Even wasted the GT40 on slicks last outing.

33gtr High Idle After Throttle Body Gaskets Replaced
GTRgeoff replied to cefiro's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The crap around the butterflies is there to seal them, six throttles can let a lot of air past so this helps keep the volume bypass down. Take it back and tell them to fix it. If they cannot reseal them then they will have to buy new ones for you. While there get them to bin the gaskets and use blue silicone gasket very lightly to give a perfect seal.
