Mr and Mrs Williams will be there for the evening and next day. I'm not racing though but will give useless advice and unwanted comment wherever innappropriate........
-
Happy birthday mate. No nights out in Knox for me. I only have imports to drive........
-
thanks Brad. Sorry but I'll have to take a miss. The finance minister has vetoed a new telly. She want's to save some cash for our own trip to Bangkok and Samui in 2 months. Good luck with the sale and the trip, this is a pretty good deal so I hope someone takes you up.

Speed Limit Removal Of A 34 Gtr
GTRgeoff replied to ricknismo's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Rick the RSM will allow you to take the speed input and display it, then output a different speed (in my case 170kmh) so the limiter never cuts in. It has a different setup on each car but yes a wire cut is required. Done sensibly with bulet connectors it can be reversed in seconds. -
It could be ok given the clutch pack nature of the transmission system. My take is the 33/34s have more preload initially but don't know if that is electronically controlled or a physical relationship. Certainly some of the Jap controllers allow for full RWD on these models unless I've crossed some lines somewhere.

BIG NEWS Duncan Handley makes the podium!!
GTRgeoff replied to Beer Baron's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I think it's all just Sydney Sump Baffle Syndrome (SSBS) or the local builders up there I've heard some good things about the Accusump and at about $1k seems comparably priced to a good sump job with the added benefit of low pressure detection and activation and a warning system. Portable to any car as well so worthy of thought. Our top lapper in Qld is running it as well but has never had it activate so either is soft or the track simply doesn't require it.......... I'm not racing a particular class right now but intend to once in Brisbane. I guess it won't be in a Skyline though due to the limited racing available. -

I'm in 2 minds with the next engine whether to do the sump again or buy an accusump....... -
Duncan, the update to the manual, is that GTR32 only or all GTR's?
-
Interested, so need to take a look at the specs. What is the model number? I can't find this particular one anywhere on the Philips website.

Sorry late reply..was in Canberra. Yep, went the low budget GOLGO copy with more go than show ........ not as nice overall but the price was too good to refuse. It's not as easy to drive around town as the GTSt due to extra weight and lower compression but it can be heaps of fun. I'll get something going on the Sunday brekky for maybe this weekend or next weekend. I'll check the weather.

BIG NEWS Duncan Handley makes the podium!!
GTRgeoff replied to Beer Baron's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Well done mate. I was keen to whip across to Wakefield to catch up while I was in Canberra all weekend doing finals on the rental house but was just too damn busy. Didn't even have time to catch up with any of the ACT crew. Still recovering from back mechanics 3 weeks ago so everything takes 3-4 times longer to get done. So will we get some TV coverage of this one?? -
And in his latest race got beaten by a GTR32 and STi... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...ST&f=11&t=82355

The ATTESSA controllers are available from Duncan who is SAU NSW el presidente and famous race driver.
-
I think the GTR32 will feel much more rear oriented but you can get Duncan's ATTESSA controller to adjust. Good idea to have a daily and a racer/weekender and is what I do. I'm also up for a V35 350GT CVT8 as soon as I move the 33GTSt auto and V8 Soarer. On a different note, SirSkylines post history makes interesting reading but no lap times recorded.......so clearly doing stupid stuff on the street. Do us all a favour and keep that to yourself SS.

Not in Vic mate. Some bugger will stick 'em in your back.......
-
Bass, thanks for covering here mate, and for all the other help. Final components will be completed today (these are the threaded inserts, not the entire bar), but due to an urgent trip to ACT I won't be back until monday evening or picking up the components until Tuesday. I will be fabricating the first few batches immediately and sending bars overnight for those who get in early. I won't be advising availability and accepting payment formally until some bars are actually completed so if anyone has sent an email they will be advised as soon as stock is ready. Cheers Geoff

Seems to be many more textbook/car mag wannabees around lately who know all the specs but have no track time or are so inexperienced it makes a mockery of their opinions. Some of us race with the Vic WRX club. They are our mates and we respect their rides and the bottom line is that some places suit the STi and some the GTR. Some, like wrxhoon own both WRX (yes even STi's) and GTR34's and the story is always the same as what was just suggested. I have a few laps in various rexies and find they are competent cars and good for a purpose, as are GTR's for their purpose. I even played slalom against a nicely race prepped STi RA and almost took him out of the knockout comp using superior accell on the return run after falling behind on the switches. First run was so close we had a rerun. I was on road rubber and he had the semi's, cage, anti-lag etc. Nice car. I also have a couple of GTS25t's and the manual on road rubber (not semi's) runs around Phillip Island in 2:00 a little lowered with old manky suspension and swaybars so essentially stock spec as the rules state. Not bad for 11 years old. In a straight line the launch of the STI is good, but not GTR good. Certainly the GTSt will struggle. Final point. Get off the road and onto the track. It's the only place to get cred. If you race on the streets you don't belong here. NS and ricers forum that way ----->

And SAUVic is home of Team Wang for real track cred.

My wife's brothers have stuffed around far too long with hard tops without delivering the goods. Time to show them how when I get back to Brisbane and it will be an 8

Congrats to you both Mike. Glad you waved coming out of Bluestone when I went past in the new purple GTR33 a while back but the look on you face was priceless (Sh*t who's that? wavey) Been thinking we should crank up another Sunday Brekkie at the Lakes so maybe in about 2 weeks. I should lob by work to catch up. So what's new? The GTR which I really enjoy, some surgery for both myself and Nelly so now I can walk and Nelly is improving. Just bringing that day of leaving Vic for Brisbane closer. Also new username thank to Shan. I was supposed to be in Iraq now but the back injury and surgery stopped it. Likewise the moving home to Qld. The GTSt is in need of a new motor so It'll be a 26TT. The 25TT conversion was nice until the front turbine died and sucked back into the front 3 cyl leaving a dead car. Other than DECA, not a day racing this year because of the injury so have to get back out for a bit of fun before going around Xmas. All the best mate. You and Fay have a great day.

Sauvic Official Awards Night And Dinner 1st Oct 05
GTRgeoff replied to Bass Junky's topic in Victoria
Pretty sure mine didn't come through either and my spam is advised so I know what is coming in. Just one of those little bugs I guess. I guess the same faces at the club nights would have been present as always and maybe a few extras but this is a bit dismal. We have a good club but there are some just not participating. I hear Troys argument for the value of the night too. I also want to add my appreciation to the efforts of the comittee and volunteers -
Sauvic Official Awards Night And Dinner 1st Oct 05
GTRgeoff replied to Bass Junky's topic in Victoria
This is a pity mate. I was looking forward to a nice night. I'll not make the other one with the rexies in Nov as I believe I'll be in Thailand for about a month until early Dec. Better make it to the BBQ tho. -
Geezus Denham....Guess???? Hey Doc Clark...Don't I still owe you a beer?? Better make it quick. Planning on being "Home for Xmas" but might need to get the wankers in the labour party to help.

Time we put the pressure in Clarkey to come for a club meeting.....

Ant, the 2 hex heads are the adjusters. The other 2 are to tamper proof the wing to prevent theft. If they are all like that then you'll need to go looking for the right tool.
