  1. Now with brand new rear tyres.
  2. Contrary to populart belief, Neo NVCS is also just on and off. NOT continuously variable. It just turns it on and off more than once through the rev range. Neo has superior heads, slightly larger turbine for higher flow, different stock cams. Also has different rods and crank but neither of these are performance adders, just reliability. Maybe lighter weight for better revving. Neo also has an engine cover. It looks better.
  3. Where can you get the thin sticky felt from to replace the old stuff? There is some very small creaking from plastic to plastic contact ........ Has anyone found the same exact stuff it is is a matter of adapting something else?
  4. You don't need to get it clean before taking it to Damian..... That's what Damian is for! His stage 2 is awesome. You wont be dissappointed.
  5. Make sure you build the house with a Steel Frame. That is all.
  6. Dude, Where did you get the wing uprights???? Me wanty!
  7. Hi Gents, It will work if you rework your exisitng BOV and PCV return pipes. The problem with using steel for this pipe is that there are the two return pipes that go in very close to the turbo inlet, and are much much easier to make in rubber/plastic as they can be moulded. The two pipes that go in are actually steel, so in order to make the item you bought work, you must cut back your existing steel BOV/PCV pipes and fit silicone extensions to them to hook up with the two pipes coming out the side of this. Hence, why the silicone ones are much much easier to fit, and work just as well as the steel ones.
  8. Christ! How much Flake! Madness!
  9. SKYL9 no, the initial fireball is what sets things alight. If there is no combustible fuel around, stuff doesn't continue to burn. So you go into the container/concrete bunker as the flames go overhead, then emerge to a burn out, but not on fire area. That is unless you bury your container, and then plant tree on top of it......
  10. Ant, During a new build, which is what will have to happen for hundreds of houses, building in a fire proof manner will not be that much more expensive. Will also end up Eco Friendly etc due to the extra sealing and insulation.
  11. I guess we must make a difference of true country regions and farming land too. Farming land is easier to defend as generally there is more space around the houses and less trees. Kinglake etc is more like hillside rural/outer urban, rather than country, so in this case, there would be little that you could do against the fire ball through the trees with so many houses close together with all the fuel that has gathered up recently. But again, it's the aftermath of the fire ball that destroys houses.
  12. Mind you, none of this helps now, it can only help in the future.
  13. Ant, I have been talking about this all morning. *Gets up on soapbox for a second* Houses in fire prone areas, should be build to withstand the onslaught of fire. Steel Frames, Steel Roofs, fire proof cladding (steel, brick etc) aluminium window frames, proper sealing under eaves/valleys, ridges etc, steel verandar posts etc etc etc. If a house can't combust, it worn burn... Obviously. A fire proof cellar is also a must I think, along with a minimum of 25,000 litres of water and pumps/sprinklers etc. This will stop the house igniting during the fire ball and hence safe property. *unmounts box*
  14. Femno. You have to understand that country people are tougher than us city folk. Often the house and land they are living in are generations old, and often, they have nothing but what is on their property. Staying to fight is what they have done during every other fire they have fought. But on the other hand, places like Kinglake, Marysville etc, the fire moved to fast to make a decision. By the time the authorities know that there was even a big fire in Kinglake, the place was wiped out. You can't just leave your house every time a fire is warned about. Imagine this if you will. Doncaster. 20 kilometers from the city, straight down the eastern freeway. Fire goes from the city to doncaster in a matter of a 15 odd minutes. That's fast. Now imagine that there is one road in and one road out of town, and it's windy and up and down hills..... You can't get out. In this weekends incidents, people would have to have left their houses before there was even a single fire to escape it. My Mum and partner stayed to defend against a grass fire that could have wiped out everything they own. It's not the initial fire ball that burns houses down, it's the 30 minutes after the fire ball where the house actually begins to really burn. So if you can defend your house against the initial fire ball, and the area around it (a clearance around your house of 10 odd meters or so, then you are in with a very good chance of successfully defending. Mum and Alan could easily defend their house and sheds from a grass fire, but not if they weren't there. (They live in Thornton, about 20 ks from the current fire front) So there are many reasons for staying and defending, especially if you have nothing but your property, it's your livelihood, it's your home, it was your parents and grand parents home and it will be your kids home.
  15. OK Guys, lets chill. Leave the debate for some other time. Compassion is what is required here. My Mum and her partner have been taking it in shifts to see if the fire comes up over the ridge in Thornton for the last two days so I'm personally engaged in this whole thing. Thankfully, we have been lucky, and Mum is ok and so is Alan her partner, but thousands of others are not so lucky. Lets spare a thought for them now. Not argue here.
  16. That was my mates. He reckons it's good for an easy 20 or even less without the limiter. Teh Coolness.
  17. R.I.P to all effected. My Mum and her partner were ready to defend their property in Thornton, but fortunately the fire was downgraded before it reached them. Condolences to all who have been tragically killed in this horror day.
  18. You get into your car that has been parked outside all day, turn the key and the water temp gauge reads 50 degrees......... And the car hasn't been run since 7:30am!!
  19. I have one available also. It's for sale. $350. Same. PM for details. Sorry to Hijack thread.
  20. Now with "Shitty R34 Series I Interior Paint Mod"
  21. Here's what I do. Get out a spreadsheet, and make 20x20 cells. Mark the top row RPM, the verticle column Load. Go into your injector and ignition maps and log each and every cell. Then do a MAP trace and figure out where you are on that 20x20 grid at 5000 rpm at full load. Around that area, pull a degree out of the timing and see how you go. Making a note of the settings if V.handy for when you want to play. I've got maps of all my tunes from RacePace and just recently was able to reset my settings to my Pre V-Power Racing tune without having to touch a Dyno. Very handy indeed. You can also then make pretty graphs and things to see how your tune woks and, like me, you might just learn a bit about it.
  22. Black Lambo Countach this morning on Flinders st. Still a p-ron vehicle!
  23. I just put a plug in the laundry sink, poured in a few cups of metho, and dropped in the parts. Coated all pieces in Metho, waiting less than a minute then started to rub, and lo and behold, horrible old paint transferrs from the plastic to the sponge and my hands...... Wear Gloves.
  24. Dammit, I was going to say that I just painted over them and then used nail polish to put the red and blue in..... But that would give the gaem away
