  1. Whoever you go with make sure you know what they are doing. After my car was broken into and needed some work went to one guy who was clueless and did half assed work. Its not like skylines are hugely diff from normal cars but some car elecs are clueless. Wasted 700 at the first guy second guy cost me 800 but did an awesome job and went through the car completely and fixed up a lot of stuff. Hes out Penrith way if you want his details let me know. I can also tell you who to stay away from out this way.
  2. mod edit: Thread split from a thread in Imports. Probably get more info here. Vijay
  3. Kaneda I split your post into a new thread in the Forced Induction area: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=123794 Vijay
  4. No probs Bear in mind the search function defaults to looking for posts in the last 30 days. You generally may need to search more posts than that (e.g. the last six months). Also read the "Advanced Usage Help" in the search page for some guidance. For your query I looked for: +r34 +turbo +ceramic and searched within the last 90 days. Vijay
  5. As Skyline33 said it depends on whatever your RAWS (workshop) had approved for compliance. You can only use the brands your workshop requires, not any alternatives. So if you need AKIBONO pads, unfortunately there is no way around that.
  6. I had no problems fitting the 9831 into my car.
  7. //edit: Just saw all your previous posts. I'd just go take it to a mechanic (not necessarily Nissan) and get them to go over the car. Someone who's seen semi-modified cars before, but that's not an uncommon thing these days. Crank angle sensor? Have you tried an AFM (air flow meter) from another car?
  8. Nylon compressor and a ceramic turbine wheel. Been covered plenty of times. Use the search button.
  9. If you remember when the forums were upgraded we tried that for a while - inidividual forums for each trader. There was a limit of four sponsors (i.e. four subforums), then it went to about seven. Then it was changed to the current format - I believe that was because there were too many. The structure you have proposed Ryan is very similar to what NS.com has.. but whereas the trading section drives NS, I believe that's not Prank's intention for SAU..that's what I think anyway.
  10. i am getting mine tuned at the moment by a place in Penrith called Nepean Automotive... pm if you want the details
  11. Some more info about the composition of Midnight Purple III, thanks to png godzilla in this thread.
  12. Pic here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...dpost&p=1838553 Fantastic info PNG Godzilla - hope you don't mind but I'm going to add that to the colour code FAQ.
  13. Look mate I'm not asking everyone to list their address and hours that their car in unattended. There are alarm installers all around the country on this forum and there's no point in someone from QLD putting their hand up to install someone's alarm if they're in Adelaide. The location info box in your profile is there for a reason. You don't need to write what street you live in, you don't even need to put your suburb. A state will suffice, at least it will narrow it down somewhat. And on your other point, people are looking for suggestions, not stating their alarm choice. I've previously edited posts which users have mentioned their alarm systems for such reasons. So do you have anything relevant to add to this discussion?
  14. Not always the case. Following the initial inspection if there are issues to be resolved (Discussion Items), a re-inspection of the vehicle or resit of the evidence testing may be required (i.e. DOTARS may have to come out again). Personally I think the best approach is to speak with your RAWS and ask what's the holdup, and who is waiting for what.
  15. Searched for: awkw, rwkw Last 30 days. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...73&hl=awkw+rwkw http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...30&hl=awkw+rwkw
  16. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=111751 This is the link to post in. By the way, if it is, it's Type M. M-Spec is a specification of the R34 GTR.
  17. Won't work, as stated it will freeze on startup. FC Commander for BNR34 has part number 415-X001 For the ER34, you need 415-N001
  18. I am going to start closing these threads if people cannot post the required information: - where you are located - budget - what you are looking for You've passed one of those three, please amend your post accordingly
  19. Definitely not P1 Racing QFs... BCs are six spokes.
  20. Yikes that's an amazing time...nice work Theo & co..
  21. Closed because you can do the maths yourself, especially with wrxhoon's detailed reply.
  22. Compliance costs will vary, fact of life. Geoff usually quotes what he thinks is compliance costs, not exact since there are so many variables - level of work required (more mods = $$), number of cars (eg traders who comply multiple cars/ if you've been there before), number of plates left, number of RAWS who can comply that model, etc etc. For example, when I imported a car earlier this year I ended up better off as his estimate for compliance was $500 more than what I was actually charged.
  23. Nope. Compliance is a totally separate component. You pay GST and Stamp Duty to Customs. AQIS receives fees for quarantine inspections. In Sydney you pay the customs / quarantine fees at the same point. If you need steam cleaning fees go to the cleaners. Although if you use a customs agent they consolidate all the fees for you and you just pay them the single amount (excluding compliance). Then you pay compliance to your RAWS workshop (some require a deposit prior to import approval application being made)
  24. And you should read carefully next time. Gary is talking about Optimax Extreme, not just any ethanol blended fuel. He has no issues with fuel line damage with Extreme. I have had similar experiences to his. My pump and lines were tested following a switch to Extreme and had no problems.
  25. Will look when the car comes back but as the link indicates I believe LC isn't ID'd as such on the controller. Tuner has worked with plenty of PFCs before but not a PFC Pro so wasn't sure how to set it. I believe that LC was set really low, which was why we were getting problems.
