  1. Doh.. no good Mona..
  2. If your factory wheel has an airbag, then you can only replace it with a similar spec OEM airbag wheel or an ADR approved airbag wheel.
  3. RC43 is not the colour code. That is part of the designation for the gearbox (5 spd manual). Suggest you check this thread for the colour code: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=84965 And also check your engine plate (the blue plate on the firewall) again for the correct code.
  4. So it was imported under the CPA scheme? DOTARS can be lenient but they still have to work within the bounds of legislation and regulations. Try by all means however. That's why we have processes of appeal. But it sounds like when you called DOTARS they may have misinterpreted your question somehow. Any car that was brought in under CPA was required to be fitted with an import plate by 7 May 2003, when SEVS came into effect.
  5. Gee you car audio dudes are on the ball But I agree with your sentiments too. Advertising your alarm system doesn't help you out. Anyway to that end have temporarily removed the posts from that user which identifies his car and alarm system.
  6. If you're required to have an Australian-standards approved immobiliser in your car for insurance, you'll need to install something as the factory system is not certified. NATS is a 'fairly' effective system but I wouldn't rely on it as the one and only security system in my car. I dunno if it's on the R34s but it's not too difficult to work around it.
  7. Have you got aftermarket rims? Noticed my speedo is slightly out vs the PFC, I'm guessing that this is resulting from actual output from the vehicle speed sensors and also from change in rolling diameter(can be out by a significant amount depending on the size you get). Your fuel reading: Open up your fuel tank and check the fuel level sender thing (big long piece of plastic). It's supposed to be supported on a bracket and if it has come off then it won't give a correct reading. ie - I don't think this is an instrumentation problem.
  8. That's correct. That's why it's always good practice to get in touch with a RAWS before you purchase a car to make sure they have compliance plates available for you. Then once you've chosen a car, supply the RAWS with the VIN details and they will send off an application for import approval to DOTARS.
  9. Sorry not separating anything... Final price, want to get the car out of my garage soon: $20,500
  10. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/dow.../vsi03_rev3.pdf VSI03 - Vehicle and Windscreen tinting - 35% VLT (vehicle light transmission) as a minimum to all side and rear windows for a car first registered after 1/8/94 So if your rear quarter is darker than that, it's illegal.
  11. The only Skyline currently able to be imported into the US are R33 GTRs manufactured between January 1 1996 and June 30 1998. All other models CANNOT be imported. Suggest you read the rules on the DOT website here: http://nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/ You're going to have some trouble getting one though. Motorex was the only importer able to do so, but they're currently out of action, having been locked out of their offices and their owner Nanahoshi Hiroaki arrested on crinimal charges incl. attempted extortion, attempted kidnapping, threatening a witness and assult with a deadly weapon
  12. My friend had a flame kit on his car, but then the car exploded after it shot up by some dude and the NOS tank exploded. So we had to walk a long way back to his house, where I got Vince's beer and lift home from Mia..
  13. Illegal, defectable, dangerous.
  14. R32 uses slightly different piping so you'll need to modify to fit. Probably about $50 to do so. R33 GTST is bigger, and R34 GTT even bigger. Not sure on exact size of S15 intercooler but it's smaller than R33.
  15. Christian can you check my group permissions, because I don't seem to be highlighted... Also, the 'print thread' view does not display large threads - they get cut at about 100 posts or so. Lo-fi seems to work okay though. Vijay
  16. http://www.ocba.sa.gov.au/consumeradvice/c...ints/index.html Have used the respsective services in NSW, and it does help in some situations..
  17. Well without being presumptuous and some forum/google searches... - posted as 'naka' here - posted same thread on nissansilvia as 'nakawa' - there's a 'nakawa' registered on SAU (well there used to be now banned) - nakawa on SAU used a 'motorkitz.com' email address and the images are hosted on "http://www.ezybanner.com.au/mark/cb/10042006057.jpg" - ezybanner.com.au has the page title 'welcome to motorkitz.com' - motorkitz is a former trader on SAU of bodykits and also on NS.com - there is a SAU thread from motorkitz in which ppl point out that there is a link somewhere with vivagarage
  18. GTT cooler isn't thatbad?? Did alright for me, plenty of others too. Plus if Chris isn't chasing crazy power figures at the moment, why spend the $500 or so for a kit??
  19. No Bosch pumps are direct replacement. Some work required. 040 = intank 044 = external, more powerful. Can be run intank though. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=111401 Mounting an 044 intank for an R32 GTR
  20. That's a fair bit of 'new' information that is totally wrong - It's "Type M" not M-Spec (M-Spec was a modeal variant for the R34 GTR) - Series 1.5 is not an official model designation, however it's pretty much accepted that between 1995 and 1996 there were GTS25ts that had some attributes from both - Only the GTR had a Series III. Not the GTS25t - No such thing as an LTS-T //edit: beaten by Dezz.. man you love your "differences between R33 models" aye?
  21. It's in the Tutorials/FAQ section already http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=84965
  22. Here's a couple of Kiwi threads for ya. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=61211 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=104288 (read this one) Generally I'd say it's going to be hard to ascertain WHERE exactly things go missing from a car (if they do). There are a lot of hands that go through your car before it leaves the docks. The exporter can only have so much security but after that it's in everyone elses hands. Think about it. Once your car leaves the auctions it will be in custody of: - the buyer (whoever bought it from auction) - holding yard (usually same as the buyer) - shipping company - wharvies - cleaning (AQIS) agents - any transport company (eg towies) That's potentially five different groups of people who will have access to your vehicle before you will.
