  1. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=66972 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=61232 Can happen anywhere along the line. I've had three cars come in (two NYK Line, one Mitsui OSK) and nothing has gone wrong. If you're worried, use a container and you can be present at opening. I think only KIWI offers decent insurance but there's a thread here about how hard it is to claim through them.
  2. Marty built the VIBE Excel, which I've sat in - it is an impressive piece of work.
  3. Thanks mate!
  4. Also throw in GTShortie - R33 GTST 14.290 @ 104.24 MPH He raced me so his time is on the one slip, not that you need it because they're so shthouse :
  5. Finally got off my ass and went to a Street Meet. R33 GTST, stock clutch, turbo and suspension, standard bolt on mods, 197kw @ 0.85 Bar Front 235/45/17 Dunlop FM901s Rear 255/40/17 Potenza GIII @ 35psi, lowered to 33psi at the end First couple of runs @ 0.7Bar Run 1 - me: 60' 2.433 ET 14.971 @ 96.37 MPH Run 2 - my bro 60' 2.733 ET 15.278 @ 97.22 MPH Was misifiring (needs retune) so boost wound down to 0.65 bar Run 3 - vijay 60' 2.221 ET 14.892 @ 95.55 MPH Run 4 - my bro (vs GTShortie) 60' 2.343 ET 14.730 @ 91.19 MPH Run 5 - vijay (vs GTShortie) 60' 2.107 ET 14.516 @ 95.78 MPH - It was the first time ever at a drag, let alone competing- never seen the staging process or the 'christmas tree' until we were racing. Our first races we both staged 2nd and wasn't ready for the start. By the end of the night I was staging early and waiting to drop the hammer - I can't do burnouts. Last one of the nite I tried to step onto the brakes but I think I did it too much - Shifted too early, around 6500rpm - Dropping stock clutch does NOTHING for launches. Tried it the 2nd time and tramped badly. - Retune next month, so I can run on high boost But it was the best rush! Definitely be back there soon... Anyone got any advice from the results?? Vijay
  6. 33 GTST me: 14.516 @ 95.78 MPH my bro: 14.73 @91.19 MPH
  7. So why don't you get another alignment??
  8. Did you get a copy of the wheel alignment specs when it was done? IMO you don't have much chance, tyre wear is not only dependent on alignment settings it's also on the car, how you drive, where you drive etc.
  9. BD4s aren't too bad price and they are pretty proficient tuners (they also do other ones eg PFC). My brother's car came ex-Japan with an FConV which we got Yoshi to tune up. Only reasons we switched to a PFC: - BD4s is too far from us - Piggyback vs standalone (plus someone stole the FCon )
  10. Here's a tip. Post your question ONCE, and not several times in different forums. It makes it easier for ppl to see the problem, you'll get more advice and perhaps it'll help others who may have the same issue as you. If you search the NSW forum you'll find plenty of workshop recommendations. I'm sure most of them have done SAFC installs in the past and will be able to figure out where you've gone wrong. Stan (satanic) said he could help you, that's one place. There are plenty of other places you might consider - Bel Garage, CRD, etc etc.
  11. Haha that's why I said I think.. lol this rabbit is funny!
  12. I go to my local Glenfords..
  13. BD4s is the only licensed tuner in Australia. CRD borrows the software from BD4s when they tune.
  14. If all else fails, ring DOTARS Vehicle Imports Enquires Ph: 1800 815 272 Fax: (02) 6274 6013
  15. Should have got receipt or at least details of the installation which can be verified by the installer. We needed to show that in order to make a theft claim. No evidence, no insurance.
  16. Vambex Pty Limited t/a Kensan Imports 7 Watland St Springwood QLD 4127 (07) 3208 7210 They might be able to assist you. DOTARS would probably require you to hand back the original plate to avoid rebirthing or any other dodginess.
  17. In that link I posted it clearly assesses the four criteria necessary for a car to be eligible for importation under SEVS. As I said, contact a RAWS. They will give you a definitive answer. They're the ones who will end up doing the paperwork for it anyway.
  18. http://rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/sevs/030-00.htm That's where I got it from. Clarify it with a RAWS if you want a definitive answer. //edit: I do believe that all of the non-turbo four door R34s are ineligible as they fail the power/weight criteria.. which is why you can import something like a GT-V (as they are a two door)
  19. MINES ECU = not really any value to you in Australia. - Support only by MINES offered to original purchaser of unit - Usually not tunable by anyone else - Do you know what level of mods it was tuned for? Are you sure? - Most likely tuned for a higher octane fuel than you'll see locally.
  20. Paraphrased from RCVS: - Only vehicles with the features listed below satisfy this entry: RB25DE, RB25DET, RB26DETT - The RB20DE cannot be imported as it fails the performance requirement. Ergo, if the variant has one of the approved engines you can import it.
  21. Crap I'll be wanting interim rego soon. Oh well thanks for the heads up Richo.
  22. Bump. Car getting minor service today, incl oil change.
  23. That's overkill, but yeh should do easily. Don't forget a fuel pump. You can reach 200kw with the stock turbo. Just need fuel pump, exhaust, intercooler, an exhaust cam gear, boost controller and PFC.
  24. No good Stan. What time were you parked there? Hopefully you get lucky. Dudes who broke into my brother's car last year were caught and charged and most of the stolen property recovered.
  25. Sounds liike it was imported pre-SEVS, the Australian VIN wasn't just ECR33XXX with a prefix before it (eg 6U90001ECR33XXX). If you are concerned you can contact DOTARS directly to find out the details of importation. Blue build plate: engraved is fine. Read this thread for more info. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=110196 ABS optional. My S2 does not have it. Coolant can be other colours but should be clean, indicating it's been changed regularly. Rusty sounds like hasn't been changed as often as it should. I'd go with the timing belt sticker for kms. Either wound back or been swapped with a different dash cluster (maybe not hooked up right that's why boost gauge isn't working??)
