  2. Nice comeback to the 18 month old post Shan For what it's worth, saw an R32 GTS25 in Hurstville the other day. Pretty neat car..
  3. Dude had plenty of time to figure out what was going on, thanks to all the posters on the first page. I even directed him to the DEH. I thought it was doing it himself - but if he's using an import yard they should know all the procedures by now, and like you I don't know why they'd re-export the car. Sounds like a case of serious incompetence at the least here. When making a quarantine entry the importer is required to answer questions about the refrigerant inside the car. How this important detail wasn't picked up earlier is pretty bad on their behalf.
  4. You said you're selling the car for a friend. You're not allowed to sell stuff that isn't yours. The rules state so. So now you're saying it's your car, but you're selling it for a friend, and your cousin owes money on it so you're helping him sell it so you can get your money back..
  5. Mine is complied with DOTARS as a five seater and registered with RTA as same. Came from Japan with a centre lap sash seat belt too.
  6. Not as bad as you make it out to be mate. Remember with the exception of the few 32 GTRs every other Skyline you see has been imported before by someone else. Importing involves trust. You need to have trust in the people you are dealing with. If you don't have that, you shouldn't import. Not as if all the problems you mention is restricted to Japan only. Whose to say an Australian dealer selling a car won't do the same before selling a car to you?
  7. Sound advice from vrfour. All the best, let us know what's happened.
  8. From DOTARS (VSB 10) If you have followed the procedures outlined in this brochure and the vehicle has met the requirements for import approval and initial registration, there is no restriction under the Act preventing the subsequent sale of an imported vehicle unless conditions have been applied to the Approval. You should also check with the Registration Authority in your State or Territory for any requirements they may have in relation to the sale of an imported vehicle. It is an offence to supply to the market (ie to sell for use on a public road) a vehicle that has been imported for use in transport but does not meet the ADRs, or is not fitted with an identification plate, used import plate or Personal Import plate. Such action may attract a penalty of up 120 units per vehicle. A penalty unit means A$110 (as at 1/1/04). //end
  9. I'm not totally convinced of the worth of the trader ratings system. Like any other ratings system it's dependent upon both parties being honest. We had situations before where someone posted neg ratings, and in retaliation so did the other person. So you're left with two annoyed people, both are complaining and have two different stories. Pretty much like the ebay feedback. Can be used and abused.
  10. You'll have to hop on down to Sydney to get that tuned.. BD4s..
  11. See sig for link to my car.
  12. Pretty sure it's just a typo, may be worth contacting DBA to ascertain the correct part number but I'm confident the GTTs have 310mm fronts, and the non-turbos smaller rotors (same ones as a R33 GTST)
  13. Should be the 310mm ones, that catalogue is incorrect. If you look at the AUSTRALIAN STANDARD series catalogue here, you see that they are correctly listed. The first reference should be for non-turbo R34s, and the second one GTTs.
  14. Dont Really Know Where To Post? How about not in every forum?
  15. GRK200 if you want to promote your business you are going to have to register as a Trader. PM myself or Blitz for more information.

  17. Whilst looking through a user's previous posts, any posts in which that user quoted someone else's texts are invisble (light background)
  18. "Print thread" option still cuts the thread at xx number of posts.. ie any thread larger than that you can't see the rest.. doesn't separate into pages like VBB
  19. I dunno how Hobbs is now since they've moved, but it wasn't secure before. Anyway in Sydney they can now clean your car at the docks so you don't need to arrange to take it to Hobbs or anything.
  20. Exhaust = affects noise and emissions = must continue to comply with all applicable ADRs. This is achieved through engineering certificate test for compliance with ADR noise limits and emissions (per IM240 emissions test available from RTA testing centres in Botany or Penrith). Short shift kit is not really considered as an owner certified modification as it wasn't a factory option. I guess you could argue Nismo = Nissan performance accessories = available, however who would pull you up for a short shift kit?
  21. The "http://image-cache.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/style_images/1/menu_action_down.gif" image seems to be not on the server. It's the one that shows a drop down menu in threads..
  22. Straight from the DEH... Vijay If the vehicle is a one-off import for your personal use and that it is not for trade or commerce, you will not require a licence under the Department of the Environment and Heritage’s Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Management Act 1989. Please note, you will only be permitted to import one vehicle for the current licensing period effective from 1 January 2006 until 31st December 2007. You will need to provide to your Customs Broker with a declaration outlining that the vehicle is a one-off import that is for personal use and is not for trade or commerce and that you will not be importing any other vehicles into Australia during the 2006-2007 licencing period. *Vehicles in the above circumstances can contain HFCs, HCFCs, or CFCs and will not require degassing/retrofitting prior to coming into Australia. Your customs broker will need to provide this information to the Department and or Australian Customs Service who will contact the DEH for verification and clearance.
