  1. Hey ppls, About to replace the front tyres on my car, due to them being excessively worn on the inside. This has been a problem since I got my car, so I'm wondering if I can get any tips on settings so I can avoid this in the future. - Stock suspension, street use - Whiteline adjustable swaybays (front and back) to be fitted next week - Front: 17x8, Dunlop FM901s 235/45ZR17 - Rear: 17x9, Potenza GIII 255/40ZR17 Most recent alignment settings (Gordon Leven) Rear Camber L -1'14" Rear Camber R -0'47" Rear Toe L +1.9mm Rear Toe R -1.1mm Front Castor L +6'53" Front Castor R +6'26" Front Camber L -1'21" Front Camber R -1'11" Front Toe L +0.7mm Front Toe R +0.7mm

  4. Can't say I've ever heard of a shop letting people go DIY compliance for a SEVS car, as it must be done by an accredited party (ie the RAWS). It's legislated as far as I know, and not possible to get around. Of course you could always do 15 year compliance yourself, all that's required in that case is an engineering signatory who will sign off on your work.

  6. I reckon it is.. my brother has one and it seems to keep the police happy. But as I've said before, different engineers will say different items can be certified.. so keep calling around until you find someone who will engineer all your stuff.
  7. The Regulations There are three basic methods you can import cars in Australia - race/rally import, SEVS, and the 15 year rule. 1. Race/ Rally. If you have a particular level of CAMS licence you can apply to bring in any car. Vehicles can never be road registered. 2. SEVS. Strict regulations on condition and modifications. For cars <15 years old. Only cars eligible on the SEVS Register can be brought in, and if there is a RAWS who can comply the car. Check the SEVS Register first to see if your car is available, and then here for a list of RAWS workshops to see if they can comply your vehicle. Use the RAWS Search to look for a compliance workshop 3. 15 year rule. Now modified so only cars made before 1 January 1989 (ie 1988 or earlier). Any modifications permitted so long as you can pass STATE registration requirements. Contact your local authority for the exact requirements. VSB 10 - Importing vehicles - describes the three methods of importing a vehicle and what sort of documentation you need to apply to do so. Importing without a broker DIY Compliance - if you wish to save some money. Probably more relevant for 15yo imports. More to come.. Vijay
  8. You asked something that that comes up over and over on the forums - will the PFC work on an auto? Paul's FAQ is spot on, as are all the responses in that thread. As Ash (Nismoid) said, nothing is going to change that. I found over 15 threads with this question on the forum, and the same answers. By the way, if you really want definitive proof, read this here. Someone's done it, and the results were exactly as stated in your thread.

  10. Most likely option is that you'd get the compliance work done at the RAWS (QLD), and then transport the car down to Adelaide for rego. No need for Qld rego unless you plan to drive it down - then you could probably obtain temporary rego from SA, (if they offer it)

  13. Depends on your provider, a lot accept second hand veheicles subject to conditions. Our one had the proviso that so long as the car was no older than eight years old at the end of the lease it was okay. //edit: subject to their final approval on the choice of vehicle

  16. I'm going to take a couple pics from Sydneykid. It shows the factory stacker on a Stagea and I'd assume it'd be similar on a Skyline.
  17. It's not a straight swap for the R32, but it's only a minor modification. There's someone who did the job recently and they were charged approx $50 (?)for the labour involved to fit it.

Bosch use 'N-Heptane' to measure flow rates as opposed to petrol, which has different viscosity and density (hence different flow rates) Plus voltage to the pump will affect flow..and the pressure you're putting through the system. etc etc etc. When it comes down to it though the 040 has been tested and can handle more power than the standard GTST pump.

Headunit Installation Virtually identical for all but here's discussion for R32 R33 - with links to pics R34 - courtesy of r34gtt.net Stagea Wiring up your headunit Nissan Wiring Harness information - verified as correct by me Need a DIN pocket? Just head to your local Nissan dealer. Any post-1996 Nissan car (eg N15 Pulsar) will have a DIN pocket that will fit in your Skyline. Antennas Jap - Aussie antenna conversion - you need an adaptor. The Aerpro AP348 is $15 from any stockist (Autobarn, etc) Can't pick up radio on a Japanese headunit? If your headunit reads on the Japanese FM frequency (~75-90kHz), you'll need a frequency/band expander to compensate. Pick one up from your local car audio store - the Aerpro AP745 costs $19. That, or get a new headunit Sound Deadening It's one of the most effective ways to improve the sound in your Skyline! If you're outside your car, knock the body panels and listen for that hollow 'tin can' reverberation. I'd go so far to say that deadening at least part of your front doors is mandatory if you are concerned about decent sound.
  23. Most of the airbag electronics is actually under the centre console behind the handbrake, so you should be fine (I've taken it off no problems). Airbag stuff is usually designated with a bright yellow conduit. If you're really worried, disconnect the airbag fuse first.
