  1. Hi, Just wondering if R33 GTR rear quarter pods will bolt up to an R33 GTST? Cheers!
  2. Trevor at Madhatters Customs does some nice work on some Autosalon cars.. he's based in Penrith at the moment. Quality can't be beat in my opinion. http://www.madhatterscustoms.com.au/ 0413 898 215 / [email protected]
  3. Just got mine done a few days ago. I had to do was slightly modify the turbo heat shield to fit the bigger dump pipe. The bigger problem was that my rear driveshaft was too close to the centre muffler I have on my exhaust, and it actually began rubbing. I simply solved that by putting a spacer in off the nearest exhaust hanger. AUtobarn, Repco, etc should all have the gasket glue and items that you need.
  4. When I asked AQIS about the steam cleaning, they said that a car has to be in 'as-new' condition. He gave me an example and said that they could run their hand on the inner wheel guards, and it should be clean. Of course it depends how thorough they are. If they fail a car they will say what needs to be cleaned (either inside or outside).
  5. Let me try and answer what I can..from my own experiences - Customs / Quarantine usually do their initial inspections while the cars are being rolled off the ships. - If the wharvies need to move the cars around, they drive them (they have a jump start pack, which is also handy when you come to drive your car from the docks). If your car needs to go for steam cleaning, it's not supposed to be driven there. - unless your car has a customs clearance you can't pick it up from the docks. I guess when they're unloading the ship if you could find a viewpoint outside of the dock area you could see it come off. But yeah, no going to take stuff out until it has that clearance. - If your car passes Customs / AQIS inspections, then once it's cleared you can drive it out. However if it fails AQIS and needs steam cleaning, they will issue a clearance to allow you / customs broker to remove it from the wharf and deliver it to the steam cleaners. This is when I first got to go inside my brother's 32 (and you could remove items then!) - Once at the steam cleaners, Customs can inspect the vehicle from there so it won't need to be taken back to the wharves.
  6. Hey all I hope you don't mind but I did a little surgery and split this thread into two - the last few questions seemed to be more about getting your car coming into the country, so I moved them to http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=51288 Cheers! Vijay
  7. Premier are good blokes - I took my 33 there a couple of months ago for its first dyno run..
  8. White P1s on a white 33!! I've got a biased view, though Tony's right though, you'll be having to clean them all the time..
  9. Hi, Got my brother's 32 GTST in the shop at the moment getting some TLC - it's had a bit of a rough life in Japan..some interesting modifications, such as: gearbox crossmember not being bolted on straight, left real control arm from a silvia (but right from a skyline), etc. Anyway, they're having trouble with the spline at the moment. According to the workshop, the GTST spline is 30mm, but the one on his car measures 31mm. They've been trying to figure out which car the spline was from but are having no luck. Does anyone have any ideas which Nissan had a 31mm spline? Cheers.
  10. There are no factory turbo FTO's, but I've heard of a few aftermarket jobbies or EVO / VR4 swaps being done. FTOs are a bit slow off the mark, but once MIVEC kicks in at (factory setting of) 5500rpm, they pull pretty well. I daresay with a exhaust and MIVEC controller they'd do good against a NA skyline. Probably come down to the driving and shifting (FTO tiptronic is sweet!) As for a 'DET against an FTO - FTO has no chance..
  11. another one bites the dust..
  12. It's nothing that most of us haven't been through Robin! Once you get your car, trust me you'll look back and laugh at the hoops you've had to jump through..
  13. The A/F ratios on the Apexi Turbo Timer is only a theoretical value based on the O2 voltage readings.. You can download a manual for it from the USA Apexi website and read up a bit more on it.. http://www.apexi-usa.com
  14. work at the tax office go to uni and the claim ur car (& costs) as a tax deduction... all legal... mmmm depreciation :headspin:
  15. Chris when I sent mine off in March it took about seven weeks to come through (although I got messed around a bit with Anzac Day / Easter holidays in between). Give them a couple more weeks then call back to enquire. As a tip, if you paid the $50 by credit card it'll be billed a couple of days before you receive the import approval in the mail.

  17. anyone got any ideas?
  18. I have an ATS 1.5 way and it clunks like crazy.... cant imagine having a 2 way one
  19. I called up the RTA as soon as I heard the new style were out. At the moment the only way you can get a custom AA77AA plate is if you spend the $400 (or whatever it is) for full custom plates. They didn't give me a date when I asked when you'd be able to personalise these plates.
  20. Hey My intercooler piping goes right over the block with no rocker cover and this has the awesome affect of super heating the air just before it goes into the engine. Does anyone have pics of a better route to run the piping its a fmic i bought some heat shield stuff from clarke rubber would it be alright to wrap the whole pipe in it?? If i did put a rockercover on would that stop the heat? Should i get a cam cover? [/img]
  21. In the latest Drift Battle mag an article mentions that one of the places in Japan which sells the strawberry face upgrades also can do a 34 nose onto a stagea..Pretty sweet.
  22. Hey everyone, With a few things popping up on the forums lately, figured it's time to put together a FAQ with some commonly asked questions. So what I need is some input, on questions, and obviously some answers to go with them. If you can think of anything that might be useful, pleas post below. Some questions I can think of at the moment (to be answered when I have time or by someone else)... - What methods can you currently import a car under? (SEVS, 15 year rule, personal import, Race & Rally) - What cars are available under SEVS? (also who can comply XX)? (http://raws.dotars.gov.au/rawswebpublic/RAWPubMain.asp) - What is happening with the 15 year rule changes - How do I go about importing a car? - Who can import a car? etc.. As always, any input is appreciated! Cheers Vijay (aka raz0r)..

  25. Hey, I have an exhaust on an R32 and its aftermarket but the plate on the bottom is a little scratched up so I cant tell what brand it is. I can see though that it has the inscription "pursuing the ultimate in engine performance and effciency" and part of the model number looks like 306-SN001. If anyone else has a simillar inscription or knows what brand it is let me know. thanks
