  1. I'd get the VIN and check with DOTARS to see how it was brought in ie make sure it wasn't imported under CAMS..
  2. Get a antivirus program if you don't have it, and also go to http://www.lavasoftusa.com and download Ad-Aware..it'll look for spyware, the little annoying things on your PC that cause all those popups to come up. Oh, and stop surfing porn sites too
  3. Yep P1s don't come with centre caps..mine don't have any other. But irrespective they still look sweet!
  4. Cost me $60 to fuel my car this morning! doh.. I got the fuel email a few weeks ago..then I got sent this a few hours later by someone else.. http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/nogas.asp
  5. sorry..just testing to see if I have my star on.. /rejoice! it works..ahem, carry on.
  6. Ok, one more question - just say I got something like the Trust MX front pipe. Would I then need to get a dump pipe attachment?
  7. In Japan I do believe that it was a requirement for motorists to have flares in their car in case of an emergency eg stuck in a snowdrift ?? My compliancer took my flare..bastard..anyone got a spare one they'd like to donate to the "help me look cool by having a flare in my 'line" appeal?
  8. Hi, I want to upgrade my exhaust..3 inch turbo back, hiflow cat, etc.. Probably going to get a Trust one. Anyway just wondering if someone can give me some answers about dump / front pipes - are they the same thing or different? As an example, on the Unique Autosports exhaust page for 33s (http://www.nismo.com.au/pricelists/skyline...%20exhausts.htm), they have dump/engine pipes combined, but also separate dump pipes. If I was looking at something like the Trust MX front pipe, would I need to also get a separate dump pipe? Cheers.
  9. that actually happened last week..and it was only about 100 japanese second-hand cars..still a shame though. I had a friend last week whose car managed to make it safely to Australian shores, only to have a container accidentally dropped on it. doh!
  10. Whoa..that's massive..haha
  11. hehe..went thru the same deal..was going to get Greddy, then was told to get Link, then to get Apexi..etc etc So like B-Man said, make sure you find a tuner who is confident with whatever you end up with.
  12. Hey guys, I was told by a mate of mine down there that CarToys is putting on a display with a couple of Skylines on display..I think there's a 4-door something and my mate's 33 GTST will be @ their stand too.
  13. Hey guys.. Ex-canberra person back down for the wknd (ie, me) saw a 33 with chromies and metallic pink paintjob going past Civic Supabarn Sunday morning..looked sweet..that type of colour I'd say would suit something like a GSR, but looked really nice on the Skyline. Unfortunately I was driving my gf's yellow FTO @ the time..hehe
  14. Another solution would be to buy a rear brake light that goes behind your rear windscreen and wire that up. Shouldn't be more than $20 or so from somewhere like Jaycar.
  15. what about an unleaded fuel restrictor? Did that have to be done?
  16. You know I am Advan! Just give us a pic of the actual product..
  17. A mate's R33 was tuned to 201kw, then when he went to a diff place it only drew 184kw..so yeh, it can be hard to compare unless you use the same dyno, or Shootout Mode is another way to reduce the bias as Sydneykid said.
  18. These days insurers usually go under the lowest rated risk on the policy - ie you. Especially for imports where usually only listed drivers are covered. So I don't think you'll be able to save much if any.
  19. Gotta stand up for Prestige. Bought 2 cars in 6 months from Geoff (nearly a 3rd too), and he's been a pleasure to deal with. Been getting busy lately, but Geoff is always available to help out in any way that he can. I don't usually get into threads like this, but if you haven't personally dealt with someone, I don't think you should be making assumptions about their service. Of course there'll always be someone who may have had a bad experience, but if so then let THEM post their tales (in a non-defamatory manner). Geoff has always been straight up with me, esp. with the Yahoo cars. For this reason I can't see any reason not to import any other cars through him in the future.
  20. here's my car, with 17" P1s.
  21. very nice..
  22. I'll take the left one if someone's going to get the right one. /err, hang on, they don't look like stock ones. cancel that.
