  1. I know, but people don't think in high pressure situations, best mates Dad lead the police into a high speed chase in his XY GT Falcon back in the 70s and got a year jail for it, the police report says the car was "bouncing from gutter to gutter", he says the only reason he stopped was his best mate was in the passenger seat crapping his pants, I suspect if it wasn't for him, my best mate wouldn't be alive today. Police probably know this too, people are going to go for their lives on the third strike I can tell you that now. There is also a saying, once a criminal, always a criminal, not only do you get jail time, the criminal record means you won't be able to get a job, which means re-offending to go back into jail, or selling drugs. You can act and think logically and take the moral high ground as much as you like, but when you're in the thick of it, you aren't in control of yourself.
  2. I can take 1 passenger in between 16-22, So I can still drive with Mum/Dad/Sister in the car, or family members and its only for the first year. I like the look of the 4 door too, I like it looks better than the 2 door to be honest. Big car? Its a bit smaller than the Ford F450 I was sitting in the other day at a dealership haha.
  3. 270Kw from the I6T in the XR6T, 315Kw I think from the FG F6 I6T.
  4. 2 Words: LINCOLN CONTINENTAL! http://www.uniquecarsmag.com.au/news-and-r...leid/54961.aspx 2100Kg of..... Tankyness. This weighs as much as a Ford F100 and is 5.5 meters long, once you master parking this bad boy, you can park any car with your hands tied behind your back and blindfolded. Anyways on topic, if you've got a spare $12,000 lying around, there is a 2000 N/A R34 GT 4 door lying around in Fawkner Victoria, drive away price. I can't comment on what car you should have for your first as I'm only a year older than you and haven't got a car yet and came here asking the same thing lol. Though, you can't go wrong with 90s Falcon/Commodore/Corolla/Camry, reliable and cheap to buy/fix/insure plus in manual, the Commodores/Falcons can move pretty decently for a first car. Also, please clean up your posts, people will take you more seriously.
  5. Hell, I'm down for that, every year, should keep me on my toes.
  6. Maybe they'll change when I ring them, and let them know I'm for real, even if he just takes it for a drive with me in the passenger seat, that'll be alright. http://www.uniquecarsmag.com.au/news-and-r...leid/54966.aspx Hmm, on the GTt but it could be useful for some people
  7. I emailed them at school today, going to be a bit of a problem here, they only do test drives during the week and only if you put a deposit down. I'm on holidays as of next week, but I won't be able to walk for a week because I'm getting an operation done on my foot (Amputate it already, bloody hell). Second week it will have to be.
  8. Alright, thanks for the tip. I'll ring them up soon, going from the carsales ad, the 1999 one looks really nice.
  9. I wouldn't trust me either, haha. I'm sure when I get older, I'll change. Dad used to be the same, he s 49 now and drives a Mazda 323 and drives like a grandma, 1978, he was a VERY different person behind the wheel, so I've heard.
  10. You're damn right I will, you want my "expensive car", you're coming after me for it. As i said, not that I'd be a hoon on public roads, but if that did happen, you'd know my reaction and the reactions of many others. Here in Victoria, they just take the keys off you and sell the car at auction, not crush the thing. I'm not retarded enough to put myself in that situation, but IF I WAS I can't say I would just pull over. Or people will just race around in $500 XE Falcons lol. In Victoria, they can get you for "excessive acceleration" and its up to their discretion what that is, or even little things like slightly breaking traction in the wet. So if you decide to hold first gear for a while, or accelerate hard without spinning the wheels, or slightly spin the wheels in the wet, good bye car.
  11. I completely understand, and I do agree with the P plate laws except on one tiny little thing, No v8s. That means I can drive anything that comes under 125kw:Tonne power to weight ratio, but not a Ford F250. There is no other way you can effectively do these laws besides power to weight ratio, no need to go banning other variables. Its also 4 years now. You might have kids killing themselves in "high" powered cars on their P plates, but now give it 4 years and it'd be fully licenced drivers killing themselves from lack of experience in controlling high powered cars, and you know what that means? Restrictions for everyone. I don't really mind having the restrictions to be honest though, I'm a bit pissed off that I can't drive a V8 even though majority of them suck ass anyways, the noise is what does it for me, these laws just give me another 4 years to save up and choose my choice of coffin on wheels
  12. Fair enough, they're cheap as it is anyways, I'm not sure how the old man will go though with someone else test driving it for us, but what can you do. What I'll do is ring up and introduce myself over the phone, organise a time to get down there and if they can take us for a spin, do they have stuff like a hoist that they can jack the car up on for us to look underneath it? Do they have any sort of trading hours on their website? Thanks once again.
  13. Yep, thats the one I am looking at, I am considering the 2000 model, its just that I prefer the front bar on the 1999 one. You have experience with this company right? How are they with negotiation on price and things like organising test drives? I know that it is already cheap and I do have the money, no problem in that department, but you know the way it is Thanks for all the help
  14. No, because the mods locked the thread before they could reply, then threatened to ban me when I argued why it got locked over PM, while doing nothing about the 10 or so people who just outright flamed me before. I haven't been back there since.
  15. Now, I'm going to try be sensible when I get my first car, I might do something from time to time, but if it came to me doing a burnout and being busted by police, I'm not letting them crush my car, I'm taking my chances, simple. Not that I promote 'hooning' on public roads in any shape or form mind you. I think its down right stupid, but lets be sensible here, crushing peoples cars? How about this: If you get caught breaking stage 3a water restrictions, say you got busted washing your car on town water, first offence you get a fine. You get caught again, they cut the water from your house for a month Third strike, they burn your house down.
  16. DOHC Inline 6 from Ford Australia, built in Geelong, Victoria. 195Kw on 91 RON, 200+ on 98 from factory N/A
  17. I got into a heap of shit with moderators because I defended myself against the P plater lynch squad and won the argument on the Ford Forums, my argument doesn't apply here though because it was on V8s, not turbo cars. I'm guessing things like Saab 9-3s and 9-5s would be allowed, just wind up the boost a little Who is going to know?
  18. How are these guys with organising test drives? I've got two cars I'm interested in and how are these guys with negotiating prices?
  19. The 1999 R34, the one with the cool looking front bar, is that stock standard? What got me onto the R34 was yesterday, I was at a Hyundai dealership in a mid size town about 25 minutes from mine, planning to look at the Hyundai i30 (which we test drove and is great mind you) I come across an automatic turboed R34 in white, it had huge black wheels and was slammed, had 2 screens in the headrests, some sort of fibreglass bonnet with all these square holes in it. I didn't really like the wheels, and the big chrome "Dub" badge I noticed, but when I sat inside it in the drivers seat, it felt really comfortable, and seemed to be a smaller sedan, well smaller than a Commodore and Falcon anyway. I liked the font on the cluster, seemed "well built" on the inside. The seat fit my....... round shape.. easily and comfortably. I really liked the R34, even though we didn't test drive it. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...gt-t247557.html Whats the difference between the OEM coilpacks and the "Spitfire" ones?
  20. Yep, thats the guys. Thanks for the information, keep it coming
  21. From top to bottom: We've got the 125Kw:Tonne power to weight ratio, no certain cut off. S15 Autech is NA, it makes the exact same power as the Aussie Delivered turbo S15, they're all mostly $20K+ as you said. I was looking at a 1996 25th Anniversary 300ZX which is Australian delivered, the owner wanted $17,500 for it, then he dropped to $15,000, I said $13,000 but he wouldn't accept it. Fair enough I suppose, but the car still hasn't sold and this was around the start of the year and it had been listed before then too. Found some R34s from a dealer in Fawkner for around $12,000 drive away. Thanks for the help mate, I'm open to any more advice/opinions.
  22. I'm up for buying my first car in roughly 3 months, and I've taken an interest in some 1998 onwards R34 GT Skylines, the naturally aspirated ones of course (Victorian P plates). I've read the "I'm buying a skyline" thread located Here (click me). I'd like some more information on R34s though, what else on top of those should I look out for? Also, how fast would a stock R34 GT skyline go at the drags? The real drags, none of this traffic light grand prix stuff, like at Calder. Also, how do these things handle? I'm specifically after a 4 door as I think that they look quite nice, and its practical, not that I can actually take more than 1 mate with me anyway due to the new laws. Just while I'm onto Skylines, I've considered other jap cars like: Z32 Nissan 300ZX JZA80 Toyota Supra S15 Nissan Silvia Autech R34 Nissan Skyline GT I found that the 300ZX has way too many problems, is a real bastard to get serviced, people charge lots of money to do anything to them, barely any of them are in a reliable condition, finding an Australian delivered one is rare, some people want too much money for them in crappy condition, finding one that is stock is like chasing rainbows, and the list goes on. The JZA80 Toyota Supra looks nice, finding one that is stock is again same as the 300ZX, haven't really researched into this one though. S15 Nissan Silvia Autech is very hard to find, and when you do, they're all very expensive ($20K+ which is too much for me). R34 Nissan Skyline, thats why I'm here. Thanks much in advance.
