My car only took 2 weeks to get complied. Came to australia on 4th April, but for some reason, the compliance shop didnt get the car until the 15th. They rang me earlier this week and told me the car is ready to go (just waiting for some documents). Assuming i get the car within the next 2 weeks, the whole process will have taken 3.5 months. Import approval and compliance plates were all done while the car was waiting for the boat in japan... Guess im one of the lucky ones

But is it like that article in autospeed, where the dude was just underwhelmed by it. And how he was saying that he only used the power of the GTR twice during a long trip. I mean, a gtr is a gtr, but is it because of the name and the badge that people are impressed so much by it? How is it in a practical, day in day out sense?

I think the cars you can import come in 2 different standards. You can get slightly cheaper r33's of similar condition than the ones already here, or you can get one that is in better condition for around the same price as you find here. I was told that you can still get r33's for around 14-16k landed and complied (plus you gotta add your tyres, tax and other ORC), but still its cheaper the many of the ones you find in the papers
