  1. Good to hear. So how much do I need? Is the 20l comment above accurate? How much of the Red Line? Thanks
  2. Any updates on how this went? Looking to do the same. Thinking of http://www.nulon.com.au/products/Full_Synt...smission_Fluid/ in the auto and Red Line 'Lightweight Shockproof' for the diffs. Comments?
  3. I had something that sounded similar when driving slow over uneven ground. Getting all the fiddly bits in the front end cleaned and re-lubed fixed it. Mechanic said everything had dried up and wasn't moving properly. No parts required.
  4. I need to do some investigation around this as well. Not sure if the K&N panel filter is giving more induction noise, or if I have wheel bearing on the way out.
  5. He's right. I've had people who don't know an M35 from a Volvo comment that they've seen this car and that it sounds better than mine
  6. My speedo is way out already with the current setup. I think it reads about 10% fast vs my tomtom. A smaller aspect should somewhat address that right? Smaller diameter should give more revolutions for equivalent distance travelled? Thanks for the recommendations as well. Gives a more focused list to hunt prices on.
  7. I've got I've got some 225/45 R18 Bridgestone Potenza RE040 on my AXIS wheels at the moment. They are getting a bit worn, so I'm after some recommendations. From reading some old threads it seems that I can either go for more 225/45 R18 tyres, or swap to 235/40 R18 which may give me more options. I'm looking for something that's good in the wet, and ideally sub $300 a corner. I've got no brand loyalty, so recommend away. Thanks
  8. Mine are badly done. Straight through the metal behind the boot seal. They leaked in the rain until I sealed them up. I actually need to take it all apart and check for rust. The interior trim is wrecked as well. I honestly don't understand the kind of mind that is happy to do such a shitty job.
  9. Generally fill up when the light comes on... never put more than 60l in the 80l? tank. Fuel gauge issues seem like a common thing.
  10. Found it. Thanks. Now i need to come up with a good way to manage the cables.
  11. So, Any installation tips? The diag port should be in the footwell on the drivers side right? I'll cable tie it in until I come up with something more permanent.
  12. Just leave it in the middle position.
  13. No screen, so no regret yet
  14. I'm now waiting for a non-touch version to show up from ImportMonster... For $240 shipped the nerd within couldn't say no.
  15. They do look pretty handy. Take a lot of guess work out of finding problems.
  16. Just for reference, where did you get the thermostat from? And is it identicle to the part used on the VQ35? Thanks.
  17. I've got the DBA slotted rotors front and back on mine as well. They came on the car, so I've never driven it stock, but it seems to have plenty of stopping power.
  18. Just to close this one out... The radiator was about 60% blocked. The internal tubing is made up of very thin flat pipes that wouldn't take much buildup to block them off. Only time will tell, but I think this is going to be the cause of the problem.
  19. I was having overheating problems with mine. Turns out the radiator was about 60% blocked. The tubes are very thin and will block easily. Its a pretty cheap replacement.
  20. oh don't worry, its also a thirsty beast
  21. I've got the AXIS rims. If you want something measured that I can do with the wheels on, just ask.
  22. Any hints on the bleeding process? Where is the bleed valve for starters
  23. Giving it some doesn't seem to cause any issues as long as its flat. I don't think its just a gauge issue as it will actually boil over into the overflow container if you stop when its overheated. Something is causing it to cook... Could the thermostat be stuffed in such as way as to cause it to begin to close when the car is on an incline?
  24. Well, it's still overheating, just not as much as before. Its happy on the M4 / M5 / M7 now at 110, but overheats on some hills. Climbing fast or slow doesn't seem to make much difference. For instance, Penrith to Glenbrook, Stanwell Park to Bald Hill. Otford to Helensburg all had it a bit cranky. Those hills had it just under 3/4 on the temp gauge. As soon as it levels out the temp gauge comes back to 1/2. Any ideas on what I should be looking at next?
  25. Ok, The good news is it doesn't look like I've cooked anything No oil or water where it isn't supposed to be, and the cooling system withstood a pressure test. The thermostat was a bit 'sticky', so that will be getting replaced next service. So far the main culprit is looking like the aftermarket radiator cap that wasn't holding pressure properly. so hats off to 66yostagea and RB_Ryan for picking that one.
