  1. Ok i pulled the turbo off today and discovered that the oil was leaking from the oil line connection on the turbo! So glad its not some turbo seals or anything bad. I pulled the braided line off (Earls) and noticed there is no copper washer or anything to stop the oil coming out, but when tightening it only goes half way, so even if i put a copper washer in, its not going to do anything because it seems the thread ends early inside the turbo but the oil fitting is long, i tried tightening and its only half way with lots of torque. Is this the wrong line or am i missing something. (see pics) Also found the turbine shaft has slight chips on the edges maybe lots of dust inside the pipe. Its pretty minor would it make any difference to the performance of the turboy ? Also any tips of putting the studs into the manifold, i had an exhaust shop do it last time and they kind of screwed it up, the studs are all loose when i undid the bolts, and when you tighten them, then tighten the turbo up again the stud starts unscrewing! Should i put them in and then use red loctite in the studs or is there a certain trick to get them to stay in permanently.
  2. These are from Kudos so i trust they wont stock fake ones! I change my plugs every 5000kms and use copper plugs gapped at 0.8mm. Quiete often when i gun it and it revs in the highs like 4500+ the car will just die for a second. And my coilpacks seem original with my 100k+ kms and they have been siliconed in the past.
  3. I have read a lot of things about the Splitfire coilpacks and they seem to be the go for replacement as mine are starting to die under boost. But i heard people only buying the splitfires because the OEM ones were too expensive. But it seems the OEM ones are 90$ each which ends up cheaper than the splitfires, would you guys recommend them over the splitfires ? Say for higher than stock power running 20psi boost, or is the splitfires better for non stock skyline.   4. The actual manifold studs are brand new i think the owner before me replaced them all, but i cant get the turbo to manifold studs from the dealer because they are too short. You reckon getting the manifold faced on both ends is a good idea ?
  5. Thanks ill check them out, and put them in myself this time! Took the manifold to an exhaust shop, two shops didnt want to do it, the other did it but didn't tighten one of the studs and it came loose when i tightened the bolt so i got an exhaust leak now!
  6. Hey good to hear did it come in tact and O2 sensor in there ? I didnt have too much bubblewrap to wrap it nicely. He didn't let me send it at first, said that it had to be <1.05metres, so i came back with a tapemeasure and showed him that it was about 1.02metres

Hey Richard im Anton btw Thanks for the gear by the way sounds good and no issues except that little oil leak, its really minor doesnt use up any oil but because its on the exhaust housing it burns off instantly and the whole car smells like popcorn! Ill pull the turbo out sometime this week so i can have a closer look and show some photos, hopefully its just a loose oil connection. Also anyone know where to get some 50+mm long exhaust manifold studs ? No one seems to have them and mine are too short by a few threads.
  8. Yeah thats right i got the standard mani and the spacer. The guy that sold me the turbo sold me all the kit off his skyline, which has some minor front end damage he was a member of this forum. Won't be able to give it back as i bought it many many months ago. Say i pull the turbo out, remove the exhaust housing and give it to someone to change seals etc (If thats what needs to be done) how much would that end up costing and would this be repairable ? Ill take some photos when i get the chance to pull it out. Have you seen something like this before ? Thanks for your help
  9. Hey, Oil drain hose is clear as is the hole, i removed the hose and the metal pipe bit to replace the gasket, o ring and tighten it as i thought this was the culprit. It's a off the shelf 3076 kit for R34 GTT specifically so straight bolt on. Not sure if my oil pressure sender is working right but it goes to <1 on the stock gauge after running it for 10minutes. I fitted the turbo myself to make sure everything was put on well, i did take the manifold to get the studs removed/installed by workshop but they fuarked one of them up! All oil lines were super tight ! You reckon it could be PVC valve ? Car smells heaps popcorny, oil isnt blowing out of exhaust, just burning off when it hits the outside of the exhaust housing.
  10. Hello, I put my automobile together with the new turbo (<5000km one) from GCG for R34 GTT and noticed i get smoke from the engine bay. I thought it was leaking from oil drain hose so i removed everything, new gasket, tightened everything but still leaking. On closer inspection i can see oil coming out of the bottom of the exhaust housing! This is basically new turbo what can cause this ? Could it be that it was sitting for 6months in my cupboard and the seal dried out ? Or is there too much crankcase pressure ? Or something more serious ? Please assist! Thanks

  12. Wouldnt they just blend the lower bit upto the groove ? Would be no reason to paint the whole side including top bit. I poked my fingers around the back and there was no foam just hollow where that dent is. :S
  13. I had damage like that big on my skyline quarter panel and got it bent back in and resprayed for 120$. They do it themselves and apparently have some contractor guy do all the work so in the end he can charge whatever he wants so no quotes from others.
  14. Hi, The other day when moving my friend hired a van from Budget (Avis van), he accidentally dented a small part of the van on the bottom left corner and slight paint damage. Being honest he had told them of this. Today they came back with a quote for the repairs by their "trustworthy" repairman for 880$! Seems extremely excessive with parts included of 550$! I dont understand what parts they are referring to ? Please see the photos and if anyone has a clue for how much this would actually cost ?

  16. Hello, This is coming from a <100,000kms R34 GTT Coupe. Has been completely stock never had a boost controller in it. R34 OP6 Stock Turbo 350$ minimal shaft play i assume (feels same as my 3076 shaftplay) always run on stock boost, no weird sounds and made full boost. SOLD R34 GTT Coupe JJR Dump+Front pipe combo made in stainless steel. 140$, 1 thin scratch on the bottom, comes with perfectly working O2 sensor Selling 130$ (same price with or without O2 sensor), perfect condition minus very thin scratch R34 GTT stock intercooler 20$ pickup or 30$ + Delivery R34 GTT Rear shocks stock no knocks leaks still have full erection stiffness in them 50$ each 75$ for both! R34/R33 Intake pipe from autobahns 3" AFM side and stock turbo side, i had this on my R34 GTT with apexi pod filter and it fit (just). Has a well ly welded in BOV return pipe angled away from the AFM as the stock pipe design is straight down thus this is to prevent reversion. $120 110$, can include the rubber hoses which i had going to my stock bov + the breather pipe 6x Stock R34 Injectors with o rings 25$ Stuff not crossed out is for sale still
  17. Ah ok and would that 12v wire be on the left or right (closest to front of car) on the injector ? edit. or does it not matter ?
  18. Hi, I decided to upgrade my injectors+plugs, and in my haste pulled off all the wires on the injector plug without checking which side is supposed to be where! For each pair of wires that runs to an injector, one is always white with blue stripe. Will that one be the common power or ground ? And if i wire the pins up, would that one be the one that is closest to the front of the engine on each of the injector plugs ? Thanks!

  20. Thanks but not what i was really looking for. I have 3 studs remaining that i would like to get removed without stripping the thread, i had removed one and the thread is very very slightly stripped for some reason, but the bolts arent snapped and i have the manifold off so i can take to some kind of shop, which ever one would be the cheapest. Might need someone to helicoil one of the thread holes or just impact gun a new stud in
  21. Hey, I was about to put on my garret turbo but realised that because of the spacer i need to install, the original manifold to turbo studs are too short. I have taken the manifold out, and then attempted to remove a stud, but on removal it stripped it by 0.1mm Where do you guys recommend i take the manifold to to get the other 3 studs removed, and the one whole tapped and then longer studs put in place ? And how much would this cost ? Thanks Ps, i have to move out by next week so need to get this all done ASAP!
  22. If its slightly clunky when shifting is that reason to change the mount(s) ? What would be good ECU for flex that you would recommend ? With AFM or with MAP ?

Hi Just would like some tips on a few stuff. 1) Say i have buy ethanol content sensor, would it be possible to get a tune done for a nistune so i have 98 tune, e70, e75 and e80 maps loaded on, then when i fill up, i can check the ethanol content on the reader and then plug a laptop in and load the correct map via the consult cable ? How much would this involve in dollars usually, i would assume that would be considered four seperate tunes. 2) If i purchase a wideband sensor + gauge + controller say from innovatemotorsport, would i be able to replace the wideband with my narrowband ? Would the controller be able to be plugged into the stock wiring for narrowband, and then be able to use the wideband for tuning, or do i weld in both sensors ? and would it be compatible with nistune, or do you monitor that seperately? 3) Would it be worth upgrading engine mounts when going from stock to 300rwkw+ especially that the intake manifold and turbo are both out, is the job not too hard for the side mounts ? Any diagrams or guides ? I assume you just take out top and bottom bolt(s) then jack up the engine a bit and pull it out ? Thanks
