Need Urgent Help: Turbo Coolant Fittings
Syphon replied to satanic's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
As above sounds more like the problem...would be unusual for the face on a banjo fitting to not be flat, or the turbo for that matter. spose it could happen. Either bolt bottoming out or your being a pussy and not doing it up tight enough The suggestion of leaking through the gaps in the thread is pretty much impossible when you think about it, well aslong as the copper washers are sealing correctly of course. Don't make me explain, its pretty obvious -
This is why I was asking earlier in this thread whether anyone has any documentation of noise levels for import skylines. Obviously they are plated when they meet all ADR's. So they pass ADR's, most of which probably come into the country with aftermarket exhausts, and need a standard type system fitted to come under dB limits...? Or is there a standard that has been set for imports...? As far as this crappy law is written, ambiqious as the next one, yada yada....even 1dB over "factory" would be considered reduced effectiveness

You ask for an opinion on what is the best filter, someone gives their advice and your telling them their wrong...err have i missed something here.... Your mate, the engineer seems to know best so use that, i would appear your just going to cut down anyone that suggests something other than the BMC filter Complete waste of thread, sorry to be harsh but the reality is this is a waste of space.

In your picture, the top one is the IAA unit, basically it controls idle speed by allowing air to bypass the throttle body. This is where you generally adjust idle. It also has another valve which increases idle speed when your Air con is switched on to stop the motor stalling with extra load. The bottom valve is the Air Regulator, its only real function is for high idle on cold starts. This is what increases the idle to 1000rpm+ when stone cold, has a little coil in it which when warm, closes off the valve, in turn stops more air bypassing the throttle body and motor returns to normal idle speed. Forgive me if I am a little off, as most of my experience is with RB30's but the philosophy is the same It would normally go to the standard metal intake pipe which runs from throttle body over rocker cover. Having never seen or installed one of these plenums, I am guessing that you need to feed it somewhere "BEFORE" the throttle body in the intake piping.

New Member Question
Syphon replied to BOVed's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
That relates to your post count as such, hehe, the forum doesnt detect what car you have and set the relevant motor type You can change it to what you like, go to "My Controls" located near the top right area of the forums. Then scroll down the left menu till you find Personal Profile. Click on "Edit Profile Info" Top box says "Custom Member Title" Enter what you please there and that will overwrite the RB20E GL -
Hehe, yeh i left a brown paper bag, funnily enough its on fire right now, just don't stomp it out Merry Xmas all, have a safe and happy new year!

For R31nismoid And Mods
Syphon replied to -= SKiZO =-'s topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
I know is a couple of weeks old but I will add my 2c to this. I am a moderator on the r31skylineclub website, and can see where the moderators on here are coming from. You get sick and tired of seeing new threads started covering the same information. Something people need to realise is its everyones responsibility to post in RELEVENT threads than to start a new one. The reason behind this is simple, when people do a search, they only have to sort through minimal threads which contain all the information they need, rather than sifting through 50 threads with 80% of posts saying "Search fool". The end result is a "Search function" that actually works! When you are grunted at, and have your thread locked and told to search, don't take it personally, the moderators deal with this stuff day in day out and it gets rather tedious In the future, as said, find a RELEVANT THREAD, and post in there, who cares if it's 6 months old, point out that is it relevant to the information you need and go from there. Moderators no doubt will respond well to this kind of attitude. An old saying, "Think before you speak" -

I was told that "apparently" the Lebanese mafia are trying to take over surfers paradise..... I'm lucky to see lebanese through surfers, its far too full of "australian" dickheads all pissed off their heads acting like heros trying to start fights cause they have their muscle bound mates standing behind them. ie pack mentality. As funny as it is, maybe these "aussies" being called on should go down to surfers and beat themselves up, would sure make my life easier lol. All jokes aside, i hope the police riot squad are down there this weekend and if anything happens, i pray the cops kick all their asses and lock em up for a long time. We don't need this racist crap starting up here.

What you have heard is correct Ska, this is a new law written under some revamped QLD Legislation. I did have some links somewhere but yes the gist is that any non-standard exhaust you can be done for. The law is worded is such a way, it has no real specifics, basically exactly what was written on old mates fine. Apparently its getting quite common to be done on this rule at the moment, a new one for the police to play with, and its upsetting most exhaust shops at the same time. Think how much money they would lose, if not their whole livelihood if any car can only be fitted with a "factory" exhaust system. From what I understand, dB limits have no relevance in regards to this law, simply your system is not as effective as standard. Would be interesting to know what the factory noise level is for 32/33/34 etc.... Does anyone actually know? Aside from the arguments based on age of vehicle, they tend to get louder as they age etc... PS AFAIK, the law has no relevance to size, you could have a 20 inch cannon on the back aslong as it produces no more noise than it did from factory, so size doesnt mean shit, its all dB, and i guess a cop wouldnt even need to test the zorst to know straight out that its louder than factory. Honestly 50% or more cars could be put off the road now if this law takes hold

Yeh they are a fair bit boaty, but then i had bilsteins all through mine revalved pretty firm, handled quite well, just do a coilover conversion in it

How about getting some stock 15" spares widened out to 8.5 or 9" From the rear that 245 + rubber will be noticeable but side on will look stock as Looking forward to taking ownership of this 33 as of tomorrow, miss my 31 immensely but times change, something newer, more comfortable, better base to work from, especially in the handling department.
