Bah to drift being limited to Jap imports. As has been said already, many of the comments have been as narrow minded as the 'bogans' they were paying out. A Conformadore ute packs rear suspension similar in design to the old Datto IRS. Combine that with 5.7 litres of engine & pi55 all weight in the back and tell me that its not a suitable car for drift... I like my imports but I can't despise a car based just on its badge or country of origin. .

My first ride in a turbo Skyline was in an R30 sedan with a L20ET auto conversion. SSSSSlllllllloooooooowwwest car to 100km/h but surprisingly quick from 100 to 160km/h. Auto+Dattostyle IRS+light powersteering equated to the best sh1tter for paddock-orientated circle action. Unfortunately it was an absolute dog on the road. .

Its not just Newy... In the last 18 months of driving around 230km/week I'd say I've seen a total of 3 other skyline drivers acknowledge my old '32. I just can' be arsed anymore either. In the Inner SW of Sydney its better to look full hard (or something to that effect) in yo' ride apparently, so thats pretty much the style I drive with now. Have had a wave from a yellow 34 on Parra rd, a 32 on Canterbury Rd & a fellow 32 sedan driver on a 1.5 lane street near Newtown IGA. .

With some fiddling they can be wired to leave the lows on at high beam. Saw a thread about it about 18 months ago... If you really need 4 on at once that is

Ummm 'any higher than a mid 15' I said nothing about lower... I've seen plenty run low 14's & below.

I have never seen a turbo Skyline run higher than a mid 15, stock or modded. A stock SR20 Pulsar from the early to mid '90s run 16.2. Hell, even a stock base model BA Falcon 4L auto is supposed to run 16 flat or better .

There is also the group metality that 'we can get away with it now, so why not?'. Going back to my old UWS Nepean days.... A group of about 10 teenagers got on the train with me at Kingswood Stn headining toward the city. They seemed rather aggressive, but this was quite normal after dark behaviour on many western Sydney stn's, so I ended up in the same carrage as them. Aside from intimidating othe passengers, they were boasting about the cars they stole, people they'd fu(ed over, etc. The main thing is they all agreed that when they turned 18, it was all going to stop. One of them even said 'I'll probably do 2 more (cars) before next year 'cause I'll be 18 then' The lack of power from the Police' point of view was seemingly adding to the controlled behaviour of those under 18... .

If you are talking about the seat base ie the arse part, it just requires a sharp lift (per side) to pop the 2 clips that are located on the front edge - no unbolting. If your clips are pretty good like mine were when I last took the seat out you might smack your head (like I did) when they finally give. If you're talking about the back section hooked to the rear firewall, first unbolt it on the bottom edge (uncovered by removing the seat base mentioned above) then slide it up the firewall to unhook it. Note: If your steel ski-port cover has been removed then the top part of the seat is only held up by 2 hooks rather that 4 or 5 Hope you have better luck with it! .

Are you selling the old system? If so what are the details? I currently have a 3in turbo back but it has a small hole in the pipework but is still bloody quiet. I'm after something with a bit more audio bite to it. I'm in the inner west as well. We could swap but, as I said, it needs to have a hole welded up.

Very tidy leather on the wheel & parkbrake/gearshift boots for an '89! Your DIN/aircon surround looks textured, is it? I've only only seen smooth. Looks like quite a tidy car! Might wanna clean the engine bay though

Nah bro, my cuz can get 'em for 9 grand bro.... Precisely why I'd rather keep mine & mod & enjoy rather than put it on sale for a loss... People are still trying to charge $10K for a bloody VL Calais with a front mount. You can't tell me an R32 is less car than a VL. Bah .

Teh inner west rules! I've lived eastern subs, western subs, lower north shore & now the inner west since I moved to Sydney at the end of '96. I'd say that the west subs have the lowest living expenses, the lower north shore was the most green (established parks & trees everywhere), the eastern subs are close to beach without being far from the city & the inner west is the most fun & conveniently close to the city. 300 - 400 for a newish 2 bedder & security car space. I share a 3br, 1y.o. apt in Leichhardt that costs 440 between the three of us but I want to move further in (Newtown, Camperdown) .

One more question... When wiring in a GTR pump to a 32 GTS-t, does it plug/wire up the same? Or do you by-pass the idle resistor, relay it, etc. Ta for the help

Saw a gunmetal 32 doing sillies past my work just then while I was at lunch. Not the smartest behaviour given the number of trucks pulling out everywhere without warning.
