I have used the "blue Smurf" in 2 RB20/30 gearboxes now, boht after developing synchro issues. The first one spat the mail bearings after 15K Km of use with the red line stuff, but i blame that almost enitrley on a failed spiggot bush. The second gearbox has only just had it put in, and had immediate improvement. My 3rd gearbox, which is in another car has Castrol MTX gear oil in it. It is 1/4 of the price and has worked just as well as the blue smurf. It is listed as a motorbike oil, and is quite thin however i was told it was still suitable for this application. My only concern is that the bearings may not love it, but it hasnt been in there long enough to tell. Just another option if your looking for a quick cheap fix. Brent.

Hey dude.. I have the top 'insulators' and o-rings laying around here from a set of GTR injectors i bought and then put into my RB30. The VL/VLT/R31 top o-rings dont exist as such since they are a hose tail type. The bottom ones (not the pintle caps tho) are the same as far as i could tell nad the GTR injectors went straight in. If you want them you can have em, they are no use to me. Dunno how old they are but are meant to be off an R33 GTR. Drop me a PM. Brent.

The D-TEC cars and tuition is $185 IIRC If you go to a skid pan day, where you get some instruction too, its $55 (1/2 day), but you use your own car. Been to 2 skid pan days and havea blast both times. Brent.

Just take the bov off and block off the hole with a plate. Then disconnect the waste gate actuator ROD. That way the car wont make boost, and wont flutter loudly. My car until recently never had a bov and used to flutter really loudly. They failed it (amoung other things) for induction noise, and so i just D/C the actuator rod, no boost = no flutter. He also said it was slow so i just nodded Brent.

Not what you want to hear i know but its taken almost 2 years to get the money for the damage to my car in a road rage incident. The worst bit is it took a year to get them to court, and even tho they pleaded guilty they still havent paid! Sorry 2 hear sum1 else is in this boat. Brent.

Or DIY, cost less than 2k for the conversion on my RB30. Thats with stock management tho..

25 injectors are side feed, the only way you may be able to use them is to swap the whole fuel rail. Even so I dont think you ECU will handle them very well. I have 6 RB30E injectors here, if in fact they are the same as L24. Brent.

Can some one offer a little more info on these "RB74s" as i havent heard of them before. I just put R33 GTS brakes in my R31 and am looking for some new pads, been recomended Bendix Advance or Ferodo DS2000, im trying to steer clear of the EBCs. And whats the consensus on Protec rotors? Well all i can find are these m-types.. but arent they just fake M-Specs? like they dont have all the good stuff...

I have been in touch with nissan .. theres about $300 worth of main bearings in there, thats with out pin rollers. Part number for the two main drive bearings are NI-32203-V5201 NI-32203-14360 and there are 4 counter Shaft bearings aswell, if you need those PM me. Brent. I was wondering if anyone here has done a gearbox rebuild for their RB (30 box in this case) and how hard it was to put new set of bearings thru it and maybe some syncro rings while im at it.. Any help/tips/warnings/tales-of-failed-home-rebuilds-to-put-me-off/prices-for-a-pro would be great! Regards, Brent.
