Lookn At Buying A, Clarion Cx501A Head Unit
RichardT replied to Addicted2BoostR34's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
It looks the same as the image for the CX501A Clarion has on their website .... but what's the difference between the two? -
I had my V serviced at Dandenong Nissan - seem like helpful folks down there - can't remember what it cost now but it wasn't outrageous. Last time I had it done at the Workshop in Mentone as it's way closer to home - managed to get a good deal for them on Scoopon. PM me if you want more details.

That's what I was going to do next, enquire about shipping, as I didn't know how heavy they'd be... thanks for the tip!

I'm in need of new pads, and more than likely rotors for the rear at least. Has anyone dealt with these guys before? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/03-04-05-Nissan-350Z-G35-Brake-Rotors-CERAMIC-Pads-/390176649174?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5ad8572fd6#ht_972wt_905 Also, what's the advantage/disadvantage of cross-drilling and/or slots on the rotors? I presume cooling is one of them ....

Tyre Recommendations For 370Gt?
RichardT replied to Alkatraz's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Tyres - it would be worth looking at www.online-tyres.com.au, just recently got a great deal on some Conti PremiumContact 2 from there. They're based in Melb but will ship to Bris. -
Unfortunately that weekend is jam packed for me, but wouldn't mind joining in another time, if just to meet some other V owners!

I've just put one in (K&N) about 2 weeks ago - how often should I clean it?

Saw two coupes today, a silver one that lives in my area, and a blue one parked in a vacant lot on cnr of Karen St adjacent to Southland. -
I'm currently running the RE050A - I think they were brand new when I got the car but can't be 100% on that. Anyhow, done a tad over 30k km on them, maybe 34k max, and they're worn out. Have ordered the Continental PremiumContact 2 which are going on tonight. Will let you know how they go.
-
Dunno if I should be bringing up this old thread again or not - wondering if anyone can tell me the wear rating for the Kumho KU31? Also, has anyone ever tried Continental ContiPremiumContact or ContiSportContact tyres?
-
hey, i like how you've put the 350GT badge on the grille, very nifty!
-
I've occasionally bumped mine onto snow by mistake, and it definitely has an effect! Throttle response is limited, ie can't take off quickly at all, no matter how hard down your foot is, and gear shifts take place at really low revs, maybe max 3K. Have to admit I haven't really tried it on the power setting yet though!

Aus Standard Immobiliser
RichardT replied to RichardT's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yeah I was reading up on the key thing too. As soon as I get a minute I will be getting the BCM data and either sending off to Japan and/or finding someone to spit the code out for me. Anyone know if Dandenong Nissan or FTG Nissan would be better to try for decent price keys? Chris: who would you recommend in Melb for fitting alarm/immob? I'm happy to go as far as Bayswater area but nowhere north of the city. -
Hi all, Have just been reading all the threads on immobilisers, lots of useful info there to be sure! But now I'm wondering if my '04 sedan has one - I presumed it did because I bought it from a dealer already complied, and had to have one for the compliance. If it does, it must be an upgrade as I only have the one single key, no extra fobs, which makes me somewhat worried. Next item on the list is to organise a second key I think! Anyway, how to tell if I have an Aus immobiliser fitted? Any easy way other than poking all around in the engine bay? Cheers, Richard

yeah, oh well ... maybe one day I'll be able to tret myself to a later model coupe

Battery Dead, Lights Flashing
RichardT replied to RichardT's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Well I got the RACV to jump start it this morning anyway. Seems like the fog lights had been switched on accidentally, which obviously did the battery draining trick. Guy said the battery was still very healthy, so I'll just leave it and keep an eye on it for now. -
Thought maybe I should put a few pics up, seeing as it's been a while since I bought it! These are just the pics of carsales, so all shiny . Nice rims they were too, but ended up going with the stockers as I have to drive on some rougher roads from time to time and 19" were too hard. Early 04 300GT BTW.

Thanks Chris, will do. Is battery death in these always that sudden, or should there have been other signs? -

Spotted a white G37 coupe last week, think it was Monday around 7pm on Warrigal Rd, turned left into Nepean Hwy Mentone.
