Wtb: V35 Coupe Oem Lhs Wing Mirror
diabolique replied to diabolique's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thanks Chris From the best of my knowledge Scott, it's not the same as a Stagea (wish it was, would be a lot easier to track down) - thanks anyway -
Hi guys, As the title suggests, I'm after a LHS wing mirror (JDM) for my V. There are plenty G35 ones available online, however, they are all manual folding. I'm after the JDM one (auto-folding) as I came back from dinner last evening (in Subiaco) to find this: Don't know who/why, however, just reaffirms the boredom in Perth's youth. Anyways, if anyone is selling or comes across one then please drop me a line. Lastly, I might try using Q Bond to try and glue it back, although I have my doubts. Any other suggestions on products/methods for bonding this back together? Thought it's worth a shot. Many thanks, Tarun

Converting Hid To Back To Halogen
diabolique replied to diabolique's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Cheers for the feedback guys. After posting this I managed to dig out an old box sent by the previous owner which contained the halogen headlight cradles to hold the H1 globe in place (which was a start). After a couple of hours, a crimp tool, some spade connectors and electrical tape, I managed to secure and mount the halogens in. Problem solved...for now. They look like absolute crap compared to the previous HIDs but just need to clear inspection and back in they go -
Hi guys, Been a while since I've been on here, so howdy to all the new and old faces. I've got a bit of an issue. After 3 and a half years of owning my V, I got pulled over on the freeway and got slapped with a yellow sticker for having HID lights without the necessary 'protection'. I bought the car from Sydney with these on and upon bringing it to WA it went over the pits in O'Conner and passed registration without any issue. They are 4000k HIDs so brightness wasn't the problem, rather, they are not "self-levelling" nor do they have "washers" and therefore are deemed 'illegal' by virtue of ADR 13 and a few bits of legislation. I won't rant on about the cop's conduct, but let's just say he wasn't a pleasant chap. I wasn't speeding nor have I had any major prior run-ins with the police. He refused to believe it was factory fitted nor did he believe that it passed pits so I've lodged an official complaint with the department of transport and an 'investigation' is being undertaken by them as I refuse to pay the inspection fee for something which should have been picked up over the pits. Here's my dilemma, I took off the wheel and the splash-guards, got access to the headlight housing to find that the halogens which I bought won't simply "plug n play" into the existing HID housing (duh! ) I'll be ringing my mechanic on Monday to see what he can do, however, in the meantime does anyone know or has anyone attempted to convert their HIDs back to stock halogens? (I don't imagine there'll be a lot of people). I've read various articles about hacking away at the wiring loom, by-passing the HID ballast etc but it's all Greek to me so I won't venture up that road. Any suggestions guys? Does anyone know of a place/website where I can get OEM wiring and ballasts to put the halogens back in? Plan on selling the car over the next couple of months so don't want to spend too much $$$. Many thanks in advance! Tarun

Drop a line to V35_Paul - he had the same issue if I'm not mistaken - he may be able to give you a bit more insight into this. -
Not Satisfied With The Bose

Great setup there Mark. Would I be right in saying those A pillar splits are something from the top-shelf brands? - Looks like Morel to me but could be wrong. Do you mind walking us through your setup? Or if you've detailed it in another post could you kindly link us up? Cheers -
Here you go:

You are probably not looking at the boot release, that's the indicator that lets you know when the seat is down. The internal boot release is located behind the floating centre console in the backseat ( the plastic bit between the 2 seats) just at the bottom of the backrest. Squeeze your fingers between the backrest and console, you should find a red cloth tab, you then pull it and the little button at the top of the seat will pop up, then U can open your boot.

Looking For Bushes
diabolique replied to 350gt premium's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Pretty straightforward, a suspension place can do it or even (if you're lucky) your local tyre place. I think I might give it a crack myself (with the help of a mate). If you're good at tinkering with your car (without stuffing it up ) then I think it shouldn't be a problem. -

I've got a pair of Kinetix upper control arms (yet to be installed):- http://www.kinetixracing.com/kinetix_350Z_and_G35_front_camber_a-arms.aspx There are also other brands (Ichiba, Tanabe etc), however, I'm not too much in-the-know about what they go for these days. If you're going sway bars, Whiteline is probably the best bang-for-ya-buck and (correct me if I'm wrong) they also stock bushes - so U can save on shipping. -

Lads, Was good seeing the old and a lot of new faces yesterday. Apologies for not sticking around for too long. Big thanks to Victor for taking the time and effort to organise these things. I know you're equally as busy as all of us and your dedication and enthusiasm to organising these sessions is fantastic. Look forward to our next cruise. Cheers Tarun -
Best Bang For Buck On V35 Exhaust Kits
diabolique replied to T4NK's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Got quoted $1475 for the system (includes X pipe etc) from them. I think with the $US rate at the moment - people should dig into the overseas market. I saw a Borla true dual catback for $US1,100 a few weeks ago. Shipping was $US 300 - all up still works out cheaper than the X Force. Nonetheless, I've heard the X Force in action and it does sound good - also supports the local boys, which is always a good thing -
Sounds like a good deal. Posting a few pics so ppl can see the quality of the rims would be a good marketing tip If only you were in Perth I would've given it a punt.

[Wtb] Power Window Motor
diabolique replied to pbk1776's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
It could be dirty brushes and just built up grease. Alternatively, I strongly recommend you buy the motor itself at this point given the brilliant exchange rate we are experiencing. I recently replaced my left one after trying profusely to clean it with no avail. I bought my motor from these guys: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GENUINE-NISSAN-OEM-WINDOW-MOTOR-RIGHT-SIDE-350Z-G35-NEW-/190466135327?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c58aa951f Arrived in about a week and pretty much a piece of cake to install. -
The V Series Spotted Thread
diabolique replied to funkymonkey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
LOL very similar but yeh different - just checked FB (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=554814&id=678925110#!/photo.php?fbid=443983637988&set=a.442952837988.236022.591117988&theater) It's definitely not Fuad's because the skirts were not black and the hood wasn't black either....unless he's got back to Blue. But yes same rear as Pauls - correction. Looked hot all the same -

yeh same one as Kinh's and the same one Paul has as well. The front bar was definitely not the same as Kinh's. It looked a lot like the 'L8RSXC' supercharged V that was on sale in Sydney for a while. Could be just a very similar one -

Spotted a Caribbean Blue V35 on Saturday night on the Narrows heading north around 7.30pm. Looked like Kinh's old car Aftermarket headlights with blue LED parkers and HID low-beams, same rear bumper as Kinh's. Tried to catch a glimpse inside but too dark - noticed some blue LED lighting though. Didn't have his GTC's on there but were Goldish rims with a silver lip. -
Boot Lid Not Opening
diabolique replied to diabolique's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I've had the car for close to 2 years now and it has only recently stopped working. The anti-theft device (including motion sensors) were disabled prior to compliance. Whilst a plausible cause, this doesn't seem likely given the duration of my ownership and the fact that it had been working properly all this while. Thanks for the input though -
Hi guys, Did a search of the forums and doesn't look like anyone has experienced this problem yet. My bootlid doesn't open anymore - via the keyfob or the actual boot release near the VDC switch. I've done a thorough search through the US G35 sites (6mt, G35 driver etc) and the most common problems are: The Boot release bypass switch in the glovebox has been accidentally turned to "OFF" which means you can't open the boot via the normal switch: I don't believe our cars come with this switch, or if they do, it's post 2005 as mine (an '03) doesn't have it. The fuse has blown (located behind the battery): I had a quick look and couldn't determine which fuse exactly is responsible for the boot. The descriptions on the fusebox cover were quite vague. Could anyone point to me to the correct fuse. I had a look online and I don't believe this fuse is located in the other fusebox either. The wiring loom running to the boot from the front has frayed: This is most probably the cause. It appears that a lot of Infiniti models had cr*p quality wires running through the doorsills which cause it to wear excessively over time. In addition, my passenger seat has stopped going automatically to the front/back when the backrest is pushed forward. I have a feeling this is attributable to the wires that run via the doorsill to the seat too. To add to it, the rear-seat drop release button somehow doesn't engage however far I press it down. For this reason, I can't seem to get to the emergency boot release wire in the boot which would solve half my problems. Could anyone shed some light on this matter if they've experienced or know a thing or two about issues similar to this? Thanks very much, Tarun

Carbon Wrapping Anyone
diabolique replied to Chris Rogers's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Just on the side, unrelated topic - we should compile a V Series directory for our respective States. i.e. - a list of specialists / shops etc we can contact for various things (e.g. Brian from Autotainment in Perth, Chris from Audio Express in Qld etc). Also, there are a few lads with the English Conversion contacts as part of their signature and Chris mentioned a user who does Carbon wrapping etc.. maybe even include them in this pseudo directory. I'm more than willing to type it up if people want to shoot through the contact names and numbers/addresses for various things (I'm not really in-the-know of too many V specialists around Australia). Also probably include the main V series cruise coordinators in our respective States (e.g. Victor for Perth etc) I'm not sure if this breaches any of the forum regulations for 'advertising' or 'promotion' (or if even such a regulation exists ). Just a thought for now.
