  1. Nah i need bone stock else it gets failed @ decc, they are somewhat anal about it.
  2. Heya, DECC inspection coming up and i need a R33 S2 Stock Exhaust, CAT, Muffler, the whole thing. Im willing to buy it, or if i can just borrow it from a member for a few weeks until i get my line passed by the DECC. At the moment I've got a 3' exhaust with large tip highflow cat. Its way to loud to pass noise test, i've only got a few more weeks to get this sorted so contact me immediately if you have one, on 0401016609, my name is Simon. Or PM i spose, but include your own number. Cheers peps.
  3. Thanks guys, manged to pick one up a few days ago.
  4. Heya, looking to grab a stock Airbox, Filter, Snorkel for an r33 Series 2 Including connectors and stock hose. (Don't really need another Air flow meter though unless the price is right, might save me some tinkering time anyway) Trying to clear a defect notice, PM asap
  5. Battery apparently needs to be in some kind of container, which has a hose to vent to atmosphere. Im not 100% sure on it cause iv never seen one in a skyline. Anyone wanna photograph theres and post it up? Trying to find someone to do the BOV plumbing. Yeah i failed by 12% on tinting, getting it fixed though. HEadlights, yeah.. Yep NSW Taillight its hard to know when one bulb blows, my mates typically are not watching me park, they could have given a warning, especially for first offences ever, but they were just dicks at the checking station. Anyway got my fines yesterday. 141$ EPA emissions breach notice 84$ defect BOV/Air filter 84$ defect window tinting I have not been fined for the other defects. 2/6 which is a small victory i suppose. Like i mentioned, the cop was a nice guy, just the whole operation and the so called expert defecting me were kinda retarded. The worst thing is being reported to the DECC ... blah
  6. Im jaded after getting defected on Saturday night and pinged with a DECC inspection I wasn't speeding, but i did change gears right about the time i saw the cops hit the lights, so they probably heard the valve. <-- which is getting removed asap. (came with car) But the funny thing was, while being escorted by two bike cops to the checking station, one speeds off and chases down another skyline, then brings him back to line up behind me, and off me the other line and two bike cops go to the inspection station. That skyline was just cruising past, i didnt even hear it with my window down, plus we passed heaps of other cars that could have been pulled over. Lines are obviously more of a target then some other vehicles, So skylines cop magnets, probably not, but something that cops will notice more then other cars, yeah sorry but they are eye and ear catchers.
  7. hmmm, the defects im kinda over caring about, they are all fixable, and most have alreayd been sorted, but this DECC thing is horrible. Return car to stock or fail DECC test! What happens if you return the car to stock, then re-mod it? Can you get engineering certificates for big exhausts? 3', air filters and boost controllers???
  8. madness, so a lot do get done then MRGTR911 cheers for the info I've been reading up on this DECC noise test, apparently they don't just do a noise test they do a full inspection, and can fail you for any of the above. Non standard modifications So any air filter that isnt the stock one, Any performance exhaust, or non standard cat Boost controllers (which of of course i have) Different ECU FMIC, non standard. Can anyone confirm this, cause that is really freaking lame.
  9. I don't see to many other skylines, being from the Inner west in Sydney, but i live near a smash repairer and in the last few weeks there have been stacks of r32's and r33's going in and out of there. Typically everyone one iv seen including my own has windows so heavily tinted theres no way to acknowledge them even though i'd love to But funny story, first week i owned my line, i headed down to Wollongong for a drive, was sitting in the pub with a couple mates, talking about the new ride and suddenly this bogan dude sitting at the end of the table, (some random) started aggressively telling me that skylines were f**ked and to buy a real car like a holden or ford and questioning me over and over as to why i bought it. He got so heated he walked around the table to where i was sitting and tried to stand over me, but i was up before he got to there and when he realised i was a good foot taller then him and by this stage a good deal more sober his voice went from angry yelling to a little mouse which squeaked "why you standing up for", i won't go into the response or how he didn't feel like talking anymore after it, but love my skyline, and i always appreciate others when i see them, have yet to met many other owners though, so no comment, just that you seem to get a bad wrap from other male car owners when you drive a skyline, females of course are a different story, they love the thing, so its win win
  10. Ok awesome, headlight thing is something i can contest. I also remembered the cop said he was only fining me twice, not several times (ie one for each defect and the EPA notice) So thats a bonus To be quite honest, him and me had a good ol chat and a laugh at the checking station, was a top guy, but he wasn't the one defecting the car, it was the specialist at the checking station. Obviously he is a bit special. I got 5 days to keep driving it though, the cop said that so far that night that was the longest one he had seen, everyone else got 1 - 2 days. Where is a good place to get a intake cover box from, I've seen a couple on ebay, and one on modyourcar.com.au, interesting price differential. Recommendations? Just pisses me off cause the car has been with the mechanic last week fixing some dodged suspension work by the previous owner, first night i had the car back coming home from poker with the missus, and we got a very expensive motorcade detour instead, fail, at least she got to see some more hot cars, got her all fired up
  11. yeah i was talking to the cop when he wrote that high beam one down, i questioned it but he just said thats what the inspection guy claimed was a defect. Mechanic is looking at it today, if i get a fine for it i will contest. Cause it sounds like BS. Ok so battery cover, cheers
  12. Ha, only had the car for four months (r33 GTS s2), never gotten a single fine in 10 years of driving then Saturday night i got pulled up heading home from Randwick to Newtown by two bike cops. I wasn't sure why they were pulling me up, so i asked them what the deal was, blah blah blah, "Operation" something or rather " looking at modified vehicles" I thought cool im sweet, my r33 isnt too modified, and what is done i can't imagine it being illegal. Popped the bonnet went through the mods. FMIC Turbo Boost controller Turbo timer After market BOV (i tried to skip that one Big ass air filter (mounted to chassy) which i thought made it legal... 3' inch sports exhaust. So yeah, no good, they escorted me all the way from Randwick to Woolloomooloo, where they had the dam checking station. Half way there the bike cop riding behind me hits his lights and commits an illegal uturn to chase down another beautiful skyline, Sunflower yellow GTS which was lined up behind mine 10 minutes later. Then we all got to drive out to the checking station together. Bike cop, my pearl black r33 gts, sunflower gts, bike cop. SO heres what i got defected for. (fair enough defects ) left side parking light low beam cancels when high beam turns on (anyone know if that really is a defect?) (Ones that i don't know how to fix) Air pod filter not contained in box (anyone wanna sell me an r33 air filter box?) After market BOV (WTF) Battery in rear not vented to atmosphere Window tint to dark, 12% fail. So yeah, getting a few of these sorted out today by my friendly local mechanic, tinting and light issues will be fixed. I have no idea what to do about the valve though, whats the best option here? I won't miss it, but i just hate the fact that components that help reduce wear on the turbo are freaking illegal. My other question is the battery, whats the battery in the back of an r33 meant to be incased in to vent it to the atmosphere?? And also, anyone know if im going to get done at the DECC check for the 3' exhaust, my r33 sounds beautiful with it, and im not inclined in anyway to change back to stock, anyone got any experience here? So who else got done saturday night? Cause i saw alot of skylines going in and outa the checking station.
  13. ok, looking at these two as replacements for the VS front, both looks like they have alot more clearance and stick out less from the front, they both sweep down not forward. I like this one more for style points, but im not sure my current front blinkers will fit it. Anyone know the dimensions for this front? http://www.carmate.com.au/product_details....tid=NSGTS97LSFB SK's with this one mounted couldn't find any... I like this one because it has a far amount of clearance doesnt scoop forward, less stylish then the LS above, but pretty sure my blinkers fit it. http://www.carmate.com.au/product_details....=NSGTS97NISMOFB SK's with this one mounted http://www.exoticsandluxury.com/wp-content...ine-r33-gtr.jpg http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ed#entry4487411 what do you guys think, the 400R is nice but again probably still to low, any other suggestions?
  14. Hey any know what front this one is http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/post-a11723- Looks like enough clearance and sweeps back and down which is more the look i want. Jay, trust me im angling it like nothing else, but yeah but this veilside front sticks out so far it hits everything before the wheels have even touched an incline, seriously i hate it.
  15. Agreed, is that your r33 in your banner, whats the front of it? cause it looks pretty hot
  16. Hey guys and girls i ned some advice from you genius body kit peoples, i have an r33 GTS s2, and driving it around the inner west of sydney and many of the other places i go, im destroying the front scoop on the spoiler, theres not much damage to the top, but everytime i go in and out of my drivceway or anyone elses, and no matter how i angle or drive it in, im tearing tearing shreds off the bottom of it! Iv attached a pic of the kit, im not sure what kit it actually is as i bought the car second hand and the guy before me had no idea either. (see attached pic) Anyway i've been looking around for front spoilers with some more clearance but cant seem to find anywhere or anything that would suit, though i did find this http://www.skylinesdownunder.com/index.php...2&Itemid=81 The R32 GTS4 'Type M front spoiler', i think that will suit the rest of my BK, and provide me with some extra room for getting up these stupid driveways. WIll that fit an r33? At the moment i've removed the front scoop from the car, as its a two piece spoiler, top/scoop (see attached), but honestly i dont want to drive it now as it looks like a some kind of FWD, not a sports car. Anyway, whats the best course of action for me, i cant really keep the scoop on unless i want to have it shatter apart one day and rip my inter cooler out, but i dont think i can keep it the way it is without the scoop cause it just looks horrid, im willing to replace the whole front if needed, or trade, but i need something that sweeps back, and doesnt stick out at the front. I honestly have no idea when it comes to body mods, so any help would be really appreciated
