What bitrate? As long the head unit reads a drive that big you're fine. You also have to make sure it can read huge file names and it's not going to throw tildes everywhere and make it a c*ntdog to navigate through it. USB and SD are fine. As long as you encode your MP3s correctly in the first place. If you have crap quality MP3s they'll sound shit no matter what you do.

Yeah, they're all iPod/iPhone crap at the moment I don't own any apple products, so those head units are no good to me. Thinking it might wind up being eBay spec, because the big hitters at the moment don't seem to be making very good touch screen head units. Although, JVC have one that would be awesome if it had SD (fail on their part). And Pioneer seem to have lost the plot and started putting smaller screens on their units *sigh*
