  1. Spoken like a true "i've never owned a vw, but i've heard others complain about them, so i'll make the same complaints" man. A close relative of the "i've never owned a 300z, but i hear things about engine removals..." man.
  2. Not really of the crack. The tyre is still on there. The wheel has buckled at the exact point of the original repair. I'm only assuming it's cracked because when we mounted the tyre again air came out of there and we all decided it must be cracked. It may just be buckled ... I don't know. I'm not an engineer. Safer to just advertise as a pair so I don't lead someone up the garden path. ...the garden path of DOOM!!
  3. For sale: Pair of Yokohama Super Advan Racing tri-spoke rims. I had these on my car but one of the fronts cracked , so I bought new rims so I could get my car back on the road faster than waiting for a repair/trying to find a matching wheel. The pair for sale are 18x9.5 +27 (5 x 114.3) slight gutter rash on both. Whoever buys them can have the other two rims which are 18x9.5 +38 for free. If the buyer doesn't want them, I'll sell them for scrap or keep the one that's not broken as a spare. The tyres that are on the rims have epic camber wear and are very much under the 2mm mark, so only good for skids. These fit SO well on a 32, and it's a real shame that I can't run them anymore. If I had unlimited room I'd keep them on the off chance of finding another +38 or two more +27s one day. But they take up room in the garage and I get yelled at daily about them.   5. You might be surprised how robust they actually are. My other two were always at a happy temp even on 32 degree days stuck in standstill traffic on the western freeway for hours on end. Some of the US models even had AC fitted to them and managed to plod along just fine. The only real problem I've ever found with them (overheating wise) is if you use aftermarket seals. Then they leak oil, and then get too hot because they don't have enough oil to keep them cool.

  7. \The supercharged engines run a fancy cooling fan and oil cooler I have given thought to a rotor bug though to be honest. Don't know if I really want to go that overboard though.

  9. It's plenty enough for a car and engine that size. You wanna buy me a Porsche engine and pay for the conversion and mod plating, be my guest. Otherwise, direct bolt in FTW
  10. That's bigger than the car! The combined bore sizes are bigger than the length of the car ffs!

  14. It varies a lot. Depends on how much you change the compression & timing and what charger/inlet/exhaust etc. Seen a couple close to the 150HP mark though.
  15. Actually, the plan is more along the lines of: Buy bug with decent motor and buy a second motor. Rebuild second motor and supercharge it. Swap engines. ??? Profit.
  16. I hear ya. My other bugs cost me $500 and $1300 both straight on the road. There seem to be some half decent ones around at the moment for under 5. Some really nice ones between 6&8. I want to do a lot of the work though. So as long as the engine is decent enough for a daily then i'll settle for a slightly less than decent body.
