  1. The one occasion I have had a car defected, too low was one of the things listed. The officer involved provided me with the legal measurements for my car when he issued the notice. Cars have "eyebrow height" requirements as well as ground clearance requirements. Transport SA would be the people to contact for the measurements for the type of car. Eyebrow height is the distance from the centre of the wheel to the guard. Hope this has been useful.
  2. I can almost GUARANTEE if it is an aftermarket exhaust it will be too loud IF they test it. You'd be surprised at just how quiet the limit really is. Best bet would be to get hold of a standard exhaust if you can.
  3. I would love some boost, but not a divorce, so no boost for me. Happy Holiday season to you all!
  4. Vange, I don't want this to sound mean, but if you are asking that question, it's probably a job better left for someone else. I'm sure one of the guys here would give you a hand and it might cost you a beer! Merry Christmas, chops
  5. BUSTED! Infinity = forever, endless, eternal. I say Mazda INFINI! Sounds good Duc.
  6. What a coincidence. My "love" comes down to my knees!
  7. I'm sure he does. But he LOVES chicks.
  8. If it has a rotary engine, I hope it's a S6 Duc, they are SEX cars with little more than the right set of wheels. Good to hear Ash will be with us again next year.
  9. PSI is easy to measure, CFM is not so easy. You're right though, CFM (or flow) makes power, not boost. However for a fixed volume higher boost = higher CFM, since flow is related to pressure.
  10. Matty, my wife may be interested in one, I'll see what she says. Do me a deal?
  11. Them's the breaks Matty. Sometimes you win on a big hand, sometimes you get done by a bigger one.
  12. Yep, Des won't respray your car unless you're prepared to do the whole lot, bare metal. TOP class work, but may not be North Eastern enough. I had some work done at Golden Grove Crash on Golden Grove Road a few years ago that I was happy with. Matched metallic paint very well. Was only one panel though.
  13. Is it the same as the engine the car originally had?
  14. You have a car with a non standard engine fitted. If this were done in SA, in order to get it registered with that engine, you would have to prove it complied with the emissions standards applicable to that vehicle. It's one of the perils of doing engine swaps unfortunately. What car did the current engine come out of? If this car was sold in Australia, then there would be emissions data for the STOCK engine (including stock intake and exhaust) that may satisfy the requirements. If not, it will be very hard and costly. What's the car worth? I'd say you're looking at the best part of $10k to get it on the road in SA unfortunately. Possibly the easiest/cheapest way would be to buy another stock one, swap all the bits over to get it on the road, then go from there.
  15. Stupid cards. Big hand first up, and losing 1/3 of your chips to a better hand sucks. All down hill from there.
  16. It's a legal requirement for your emissions to comply at all times. Yes, they have the right to ask you to prove it.
  17. Sounds like you are in a world of pain. Emissions testing is BIG DOLLARS, pass or fail. If you fail, same price again next time. By non compliant engine fitted, do the numbers match the car? Has it had an engine transplant? Getting it through with an aftermarket turbo is going to be virtually impossible. Also, just because it's not on the list this time, doesn't mean they won't pick it up next time. I know someone who went to regency to have 3 defects cleared, and had another 10 added. Probably not the news you were hoping for.
  18. Thanks for the heads up. Timing boards are a must if they want to get any sort of real spectators out there. I thought there were big dollar upgrades in the pipeline for the return of ANDRA and "real" racing. I hope so anyway. All in all though, it's better than not having a drag strip.
  19. No way are we both named Will and born on the same day. That's just too freaky.
  20. Spotted Paulo in "The Impregnator" last night on the way home. 4:42pm, North East Road just near Hampstead Road. Honked, but it was too late.
  21. Danh, how did Keir go on the weekend?
  22. Aren't you half way there Joel? Sounds like you're only cams, turbo , exhaust and tuning away from "the silliness".
  23. Glad to hear it's one of the less expensive options vange.
  24. Sorry dude, but that doesn't sound good. If there is no evidence of a coolant leak, it may mean that water is getting in to the cylinders = head gasket or worse. I hope it's something simple. Sounds fishy to me.
  25. Especially as the 300rwkw was on a dynojet dyno. In "Ls1-land" we find the dynojet figures to be generally around 10-15% higher than dyno dynamics figures for the same mods.
