  1. It's all in the right foot. Learn to control your throttle application. Once you do that, you'll enjoy the car again. Happy (and safe) motoring!
  2. A while = as long as it takes to get home and re-fit the goodies!
  3. Fish like smaller pieces Timmy.
  4. Yeah, on the street he's probably not going to attract much attention, but he will need one for defect clearing purposes.
  5. I'm afraid so. All vehicles 1999 and newer (I think it's '99) must have an eye level brake light fitted to comply with ADRs.
  6. Actually, now that you mention it, I reckon that would look great on Nikki's echo!!!
  7. Nah, I'm pretty sure he only stalled it 4 times in a row and got it going on the fifth!!! Traction control sucks ass Andrew, at least the Holden version does anyway. First thing I do for any "spirited" driving is turn the bastard off. About the only time I leave it on is when it's wet. Biggest problem is that it is too intrusive. The Holden version pulls timing and applies the brakes to the slipping wheel - works off the ABS sensors. What you want is LAUNCH CONTROL - apparently a good system is made by a mob called racelogic, but it runs at like 3k. You can dial in the amount of slip to allow, and then dump clutches and it does the rest. Here's an Autospeed review and their website is here.
  8. Regardless of lawyer, if you are convicted of "driving in a manner dangerous", there is a MINIMUM MANDATORY disqualification of 6 months. No lawyer can get you out of that - they may however get you a deal for pleading guilty to a lesser charge.
  9. THIS POST in THIS THREAD HERE tells the real story. He was 23. It was his own car. He was being a d!ckhead. This incident has a different story attached each time I get it on email. Bit of an urban legend now really. Great pics nonetheless, and should serve as a lesson to all of the dangers of being silly on the road.
  10. Hey the taxi thing was my pleasure guys. I don't offer stuff I don't want to do. Hope to catch up with you all again soon.
  11. Love darts at Matty's place. Very understanding parents that lad.
  12. You don't need to go far out to get big fish... here's two that were caught in the Port River... if you know where to go and have the patience.
  13. PM and SMS sent to the 2 guys above
  14. Sea sickness is one of the worst feelings there is. I reckon I'd almost rather be kicked in the nuts.
  15. Tandem bicycle!!! Only 2 seats.
  16. HSV GTS was available (since VY I think) with Ohlins adjustable coil over suspension - an Australian produced car. HOWEVER, I'm sure they had to make it comply with the relevant ADRs, and I think this is the issue rather than the fact it is a coil over or adjustable. Any component that is fitted to a vehicle that has not been proven to comply with ADRs, they can force you to remove, or to prove it does comply. The latter is not a cheap exercise by any means. I'm guessing the manufacturers of aftermarket Japanese performance products have no interest in gaining compliance with our design regulations, as the cars they make them for were never to be sold here. Sure, some of them may comply - but who's going to pay to prove it?
  17. Yep, a bloke can't pass you if his kart is upside down!
  18. I was planning on heading to the DIGGITAH show, then over to your joint later. If it's off, I guess it's off. I'll live with the decision made either way.
  19. Only just though. Not my cup of tea for a car show - too many vans, magnas and camrys!
  20. Was good to meet a few more faces, that's for sure. I also don't think there will be any hesitation in inviting all that came for further events, I know I speak for most here when I say the d1ckhead factor should be kept to a minimum. Seems like the guys from the go-karts remembered you guys from a previous cruise, but I'll leave that up to people's imagination. Ash, I would have thought the Victorian would be the person MOST likely to have a jumper in their car, but that's just me. Shame a few more couldn't make it, but there will be others I'm sure.
  21. There was one the day after you posted this! Check the sticky at the top of the forum.
  22. Didn't even have anything in 17s when I was there. He said they do get them, but they go pretty fast.
  23. Still waiting for a reply from Martin regarding Willall's interest (or lack thereof) in hosting an event.
  24. If you're crap at driving games, they can still be fun. If you're crap at a game like CS, you're dead so soon that it is no fun, you spend WAY more time doing nothing. I can understand why something like GT4 (or any other in the series) would appeal to a wider range of audiences. Anyway, I haven't played CS since shortly after beta testing steam with CS 1.4. Moving to an area with no broadband didn't exactly help my cause.
