  1. Software piracy discusssion on a public forum is plain stupidity.
  2. Might leave the wife home then and just cruise.
  3. If your wife comes, mine probably will too. You know Dholmes sent an email about a BBQ at his place this day. Oh well, they'll live.
  4. A turbo LS1 is one of the cars I would be hoping to organise, but that would of course depend on the owners availability on the day we choose. Long weekend is the 14th, 15th, 16th (drags on the 14th) Also, drags on Sunday the 1st. So at this stage, thinking of either the 7th, but preferably the 21st or 28th of May. Time of day would really be up to the workshop.
  5. Guys, there was some interest in the other thread about a dyno day, since there hasn't been one in a while. Due to the relatively small following here in SA for events, this would best be held in conjunction with another group, in order to get the numbers required to make it worthwhile for a workshop to hold such an event. I believe in the past, there have been successful events held along with the LS1 guys, and given what I drive this seems a natural choice for me . Also, due to their higher average age than many other groups, they tend to "fit" better with the crew here. I was thinking of a date some time in May, due to timing of other events, and nice cool weather being good for power numbers! At this stage, the location is still up for discussion - I have one in mind, but I would have to make some enquiries as to whether they would even be interested in a dyno day, as they are really a private workshop. So, taking suggestions on: Workshop: (preferences?) Date: (when in May would be the best, probably NOT long weekend) Group: (are you cool with LS1 guys?) Style: Dyno day only, Dyno and BBQ, Dyno and cruise etc. Also, would be good to know if you were interested even if you don't have any suggestions to offer. If I get this off the ground, and everyone is cool with the pairing with LS1, I will post a thread there also, and try to get one or two "exhibition" cars organised. Look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts. chops
  6. I'm a maybe, but I would say the Mrs would be a no. Quit organising these things and get to the good stuff... my buck's night!
  7. Agreed Clint, one VERY fine machine. You should have entered the show and shine once it broke! Would have eaten that Gemini and Corolla for breakfast!!!
  8. I'm not sure if Willall would be interested in hosting a dyno day, but I would say that a combined LS1 and SAU dyno day would be a good thing... sure to have enough interest between the two camps. I agree, but I'm afraid it sets in my mind the "level" of punter such an event would attract.
  9. That seals it for me. Not a freaking chance.
  10. I believe the term is "expecting" Timmmayyy... It just happened. A few drinks at Mel and Pawley's place....
  11. That chops bloke is a fat fu©ker isn't he!
  12. I'm about to pick a couple up to head out to the Test and Tune right now.
  13. My fat ass will be coming, so bacon it up! Bolex is a likely starter as well. Planning on heading out tonight, so I will see if we can get tickets for tomorrow at the T&T tonight. If so, a couple of you may get a call to see if you want me to pick them up for you in advance. May not be possible though, but worth asking!
  14. Might do the same too. F**k going at 2:30pm, will miss heaps of good stuff. Might even be heading out there Friday night as well yet! Hopefully watch Rob run a 10 and try to break Mat's diff! My wife will be 600km away, this is CAR WEEKEND!
  15. My advice is to cop it sweet. If you go to court, having been twice before (and only 4 months ago) they may actually INCREASE your penalty for wasting their time.
  16. Yeah, I've got an engagement party at 2pm-5pm, hoping to make it out there for a little bit at least! Tell David to TAKE IT TO THE TRACK and get a real time, not some wanky g-tech jerk off pretend time. I've seen guys claim low 12s on gtech "so on a prepped track she'd surely be good for 11s" that struggle for low 13s on the track!
  17. ***UPDATE*** http://www.fulllock.com/forums/viewtopic.p...er=asc&start=15 Apparently the car has been recovered, mostly stripped, and 2 people have been charged so far. Anonymous phone call, read more at the link. chops
  18. Heard on the radio this morning, these laws have claimed their first victim. A 24 y.o. male had his car confiscated after being caught doing burnouts at Glenelg North on the weekend. They're for real guys, so take it easy. (I know you do anyway)
  19. Forget the Scotch, I need to remember that this new phone has a camera!!! Would have loved a "happy snap" of a certain server of fine beverages.
  20. You've owned one too mate!
  21. There's an easy 12 in that car then, which has to be good to know! Cut even a 2.1 and you're there, sub 2s and you're in mid 12 second territory!
  22. I'm a clown, and will be away this weekend anyway! Too much "Andrewness" last weekend make me forget stuff.
  23. Drags first, Bombay Bicycle Club second - see, it's easy! Looks like that plan might be on the cards for me too!
  24. A couple lucky gusts of wind showed us more than the Tonka girl in the pool ever would have I for one was VERY impressed with the police presence. I think they way it was conducted was great, very visual, minimal intrusion. Just enough to let you know that if you're stupid you'll go down, but not enough to ruin anyone's day. The drifting was definitely higher quality than other meets I've been to. Good to see such a visually pleasing "sport" really taking off!
  25. Dammit, I thought there were plans afoot....
