  1. You mean you did a big smokey one and we missed it??? SPEWING! However, it does show we aren't just trying to get you to do them for fun, you got your best 60 out of it! Look forward to seeing it action next time Matt, now you know the tricks, those times should continue to tumble. Andrew, quite busy, about 5 or 6 runs I think could have been had - Matt got there a bit late, so that's why he got 4.... the line was MASSIVE (like Jungle) at 3:30 waiting for the gates to open. As Martin said on the day, they just need to run them more often.
  2. Yes, yes you will. No, I'm Will. I will? Now I'm all confused! :chop:
  3. Will be there for sure now. Matt will take you up on the offer. Will ring ya like you said in your email!
  4. I'm still deciding whether to go or not. Did you get my email about this MattR? I really should be studying, but it is in the arvo when I probably wouldn't be doing that anyway!
  5. www.adelaideraceway.net
  6. My guess on the plates thing is that they figure it is a street drag meet, and those that don't want their plate seen would take them off. I mean, it's there for anyone who attends to see it!
  7. Matt, Nightcrawler has video of that last burnout of yours, along with a couple of runs if you're interested. I'm a pretty shitty photographer though, so some are better than others. Bit more smoke will get those 540s nice and sticky. You can hear you breaking traction at every gear change in one of the vids!
  8. Um, Cobbs wenches don't count as Clipsal 500 girls man.... especially the fatty!
  9. Well, well, well... just HOW sure of this are you??? See ya's all there!
  10. Sif I even need permission! You still having Thursday off? Matty, you going to the Clipsal?
  11. It's also the day before the Clipsal starts! Will your gear be on by then Matt? If you're racing, then I'm going to spectate, and I'm sure we could get Andrew to come out (to watch, not break things), shit I'll basically be living at his place while the Clipsal is on.
  12. Well, well, well! :devfu: :kick: :wavey: :slap:
  13. Not bad photos for a tiny little stealth camera that had a bath in coffee (along with me) on the way there!!!
  14. As mentioned by others, higher octane will allow you to tune "harder" and that is where the extra power comes from. On the question of methanol, DO NOT try to run it on something that hasn't been tuned for it ESPECIALLY a turbo car, as the stoichiometric AIR:FUEL ratio for methanol is approximately 6.5:1 compared to approx 14.7:1 for pump fuel, which is why they run massive injectors and 5:1 AFRs.
  15. They do, but unfortunately it's a certain distance "IN" to the speed zone after a change in limit, no mention of how close to the END of it they have to be.
  16. R32 rims definitely fit on an S15 if this helps you at all. Not really what you're asking, but the info might be useful.
  17. Don't want to rain on your parade, but it could also be the difference between "covered" and "not covered". It's called "non-disclosure" and there is a clause at the end of your policy about it. One of the insurer's favourites for rejecting claims. Just thought this piece of info might be useful for all.
  18. Nightcrawler didn't end up going. Made me stay home too
  19. Keep trying, dragging in a manual is an art that takes a while to master, and this shold be evident in the differences in your 60' times. To be honest though, with exhaust, diff change and ls1edit, his times are about 1/2 second (or more) slower than they should be too.
  20. More mods coming on the "Plan C" tonner before then Tuna?
  21. Nizpro have one in the 10s, and APS have one doing low 11s. Can't wait to see these cars of Munros in action.
  22. I should have clarified - my recommendation of Just Cars was based on a company that would insure an 18yo in a turbo import, NOT of a company that would necessarily provide good insurance. I have never had insurance through them, but they were one of only a small number of companies that would touch a driver with my history. (Fortunately now I'm over 25 and in 6 months I am rating 1 so I will have escaped the punishment for a mis-spent youth!)
  23. Just Cars is who I was going to recommend. They are underwritten by AAMI and are their "higher risk" mob. When I rang AAMI for insurance they gave me the number for Just Cars, as my driving history is, well, let's call it checkered. It won't be cheap though, so don't expect that.
  24. They make hi-stalls for that! I think this would make a VERY interesting starting point for a nice blown LS1 car that could actually get the power to the ground. Nice to see them doing something different too, and not just thinking in that same little box.
  25. They just said that this time you were running with the top down, and that surely that would be a disadvantage aerodynamically or something like that. It certainly wasn't them saying "hey, he can't do that!" Anyway, to be honest, I was quite disappointed with the commentators' lack of knowledge about a VARIETY of cars - I shit you not I heard one guy ask the other if it was called an S2000 cos it was brought out in the year 2000!!! I also heard them commenting on the "304 Walkinshaw" when the only V8s allowed were LS1's and although it had a Walkinshaw kit, you could CLEARLY hear the turbo. Anywho, enough bitching, it was a blast.
