  2. You're right, that's what got my stumped I have no idea why the issue resolved itself All the sensors showed the expected voltage I thought it would be shit fuel too, but when it fired up yesterday there were no issues at all. I thought if I took it for a spin I would atleast get a little knock from the fuel but it never went above 19
  3. Fuel is a few weeks old TPS is reading 0.36v closed 4.08v open Ok, I just tried to bridge the diag plug to get some error codes and now the issue has vanished! Maybe the ECU was stuck in a limp mode and that reset it. Just took her for a squirt and its 100% again.
  4. Hey guys, After leaving the skyline in storage for about half a year I have been trying to get it running happily again but I've run into a few issues. When started, the car idles fine. When the throttle is increased it won't climb any higher than 2k and then a loud popping sound is heard coming from the pod filter, like the car is back firing. The popping occurs roughly every 5 seconds and is quite loud. When the throttle is blipped it will rev freely all the way to redline but it will only rev to 2k when the throttle is opening incrementally. I changed the fuel, fuel filter, spark plugs thinking it was air/fuel related but the issue remains. The car has no smoke emitting from the exhaust or anywhere in the engine bay. I read a few similar issues on the forums that point to the AFM but the powerfc shows increasing voltage from the AFM as throttle is increased. The AFM was previously relocated to after the cooler if that makes a difference. Car has: PowerFC, 4" pod to HKS 2835, cooler to z32 AFM, nismo fuel pump, nismo 720cc injectors, splitfire coils. The battery has been disconnected for the duration of storage too, so is it possible that tune has been wiped from the ECU? Any other ideas what the issue could be and how to fix it? I just want to get it drivable so I can drop it off at chasers and get it 100% again.

Blue 32 next to me at The Settlement. Love the colour and the CF lip!
  6. If anyone is interested in me running their drivers in b-spec remote races, shoot me a PM. I'm trying to get back into the game but I only have 1 friend who plays GT5 and has any online drivers available.

    Spotted you too
  8. I'm very interested mate, if you can supply pictures. Where abouts in melbourne are you located?
  9. r33 s2 hks 2835 pro s 3" exhaust from dump unknown catco cat nismo 740cc yellowjacket coils bcpr7es plugs z32 afm relocated to cold pipe 4" pod to turbo powerfc bp98 china cooler koyorad nismo fuel pump 240rwkw at 19psi drops to 16psi something is restricting making anymore power, but happy with 240 for now will post dyno sheet later
  10. When I had those same mods as you listed (except replace EBC with a manual boost tee on 12psi), I made 192rwkw As for a front mount, never had any problems with a china model from ebay but I'd recommend a turn flow cooler so you don't have to cut a hole for the cold pipe. Should save some hassle if you get pinged and need a RWC. PowerFC seem to go for anywhere from $1000-$1500, add $700 on that for a tune.
  11. I mentioned that, and asked why would they supply a suction pipe that could cause issues. He replied with, HKS also sell shitty mushroom filters and the hectic ssqv
  12. Sorry, you're right. It was something else that he tried to explain to me, but I didn't understand. Something about returning to idle after load could cause stalling. Anyways, I called him back to question whether is was totally necessary. He convinced me I should do it anyway. Dr Drift comes highly praised from friend and here, I decided to trust his judgment.
  13. Found it. It keeps to be the exact same question as mine
  14. Thanks! Were you running that set up with the airbox? Could you post the link to the thread you are talking about? I'm not having any luck finding it.
  15. I recently purchased Dan/Halle's old HKS 2835 Pro S and am getting it fitted by Sam at Dr Drift at the end of the month. My concern is though; Sam told me, because the bellmouth of the turbo is 4", that a 4" intake will need to be fabricated to stop compressor surge occurring. Unfortunately this means, having to fit a 4" pod filter because I don't want to butcher the standard airbox and relocating the Z32 AFM to the cold pipe because it's only 3". Which then means having to relocate the bov so it doesn't count the recirculated air again (I think). All which means a lot more money to get the thing installed. My question is: The HKS kit, brand new, comes with a solid 3" intake with a 4" to 3" reducer which can be directly bolted to airbox. I can't imagine HKS would release a kit that is prone to surging. Should I pay Sam to do all the extra work, or is it not necessary and can I save myself a lot of money just asking him to fabricate and fit a 3" intake. Anyone running the same kit, what did you do? Cheers
  16. Very keen for another oil cooler kit group buy!
  17. Hey Dan, I forgot to grab the reducer off you!
  18. after a set of 6 for the rb25 thanks
  19. I turned the boost controller down a quarter of a turn gave it hell on the way to work today. Maybe it was partly due to the hotter weather but she ran perfect - the knock levels never went about 21. SAU saves the day again!
  20. Thanks guys, I'll get onto Trent for a road test when I've got some week days off. I'm going to take your advice and drop a few PSI - only problem is, it's a manual turbotech boost controller and I've never fidled with it. Do I turn it clockwise or anti-clockwise? How much turn it for 1-2PSI?
  21. I'm getting annoyed with this. I've got the car tuned and retuned by Trent a few times now, but the knock levels keep spiking. I'm trying to get the car ready for track but I'm scared if I drive it hard with the way it is, I'm going to do some serious damage. I drive the car daily to work and keep it under 4 grand when doing so and get nothing above 20, but occasionally I feel like giving it a boot. When I do, especially in 2nd and 3rd, I'll sometimes get readings of anywhere between 60-110 up and around the 5-6k mark. The car feels fine, but I back off anyway. I can't hear any pinning, but to be honest, I'm not 100% sure I know what I'm listening for. On the dyno, the car is perfect. a healthy 200kw on the stock turbo (12psi) with std inj, std afm, nismo fuel pump etc. I'm stumped, I've taken it back to Trent a few times, he takes out some timing, but the spiking still comes up occasionally when I open her up. Am I getting false readings? Do I need a road tune? Is there something wrong internally? Is there a way to diagnose the issue? I'm pretty sure I've gotten the lose cells on the tune covered because I've taken it back a few times. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  22. saw this today on dande-hastings road on way to work around 1430 no imports pulled over, all shitty aussie cars, they just let me drive on through
