On Friday night, i was dropping my girlfriend off where she had left her car, in the car park next to the bus stop on Doncaster Rd near the freeway, it was about 10:30 pm and usually at that time the place is deserted, but on this friday night, the place was full of "Fully Sick" imports and fake hsv's, by that i mean lots of chrome and neon lights, not that there's anything wrong with that... Anyway i was wondering if anyone knows what was going on, i kinda rocked up was they were all leaving, and got to see 20 cars enter the freeway sideways....?

Help with P-plater and R33 GTSt
pooski replied to lanc3's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
If you want to live long enough to get your full licence DONT buy a skyline on your P's YOU WILL DIE or KILL SOMEONE!!!! i did stupid things when i was on my P's like most of us do, and the only reason i am here to talk about it, is because i had a 1978 datsun (skyline GL). The idea of P plates is to get experience driving, before you start driving a powerful car. I still managed to spin the datsun and get into scary situations that i know for a fact i would not have been able to get out of if i had my R33. Especially in the wet, take the example of the p plater who killed his 2 friends on Dandy Rd a few weeks ago.... he lost it on a gentle left hander and slid for 100m before slamming into a pole!!!! The only reason this happened was because the car was too powerful and he didnt have the experience to know that foot to the floor in the wet is not possible!!!!!!! -
oh yeah sorry i forgot to say its an r33 gtst does that help?

I am having a bit of trouble with my window washers, when i pull the wiper arm back to squirt the windscreen with water, nothing happens, the wipers still do their thing but the washer motor is broken.... has anyone else had this problem? or know where the pump is.... It is not a problem with a blocked hose and started when i got my car back from the spray shop!!!! weird or it could have been the accident!!! any help would be appreciated (Oh yeah and after spending 4 days downloading the service manual i find that there is nothing on the windscreen washers!!! so gay!

i always carry a clublock for that exact reason..... not being 6'10" myself i feel a weapon is necessary to even the odds..... and it gives you the psycho factor that not many people will mess with..... if they do try to fight when your armed i would suggest running because they are either seriously good at kicking head or have some kind of mental illness, so dont mess! -
i have a SAFC and an atmosphere BOV and i still get the pop, it happens quite often, but i think its kind of cool. I also have a gutted cat, so when the air is cold and its dark you can see about a 30 burst of flame every now and then.... if it doesnt do any damage to the engine, i cant see any reason to change it

How hard is it to get Tein HA or HR coilovers from a GTR R33 into an R33 GTST??? is it worth it? Will my mechanic cry when i hand them over to him because its hard work?

I have a good one, on Monday i had to take a deliver for work to the GMH factory in port melbourne, the delivery was only a couple of boxes so it fitted into the back of my r33. when i got there and drover around the place for abour 20mins (its like another city, with street names and all "torana St, Gemini St etc) i found the place i was looking for. There were a couple of guys standing out the front, and they started giving me shit for taking deliveries in such a shiny car, i let them go on for a bit, until they told me that i should trade in my jap rice burner for a real aussie V8, (suggesting a monaro), i turned around and told them that i usually take deliveries in a VP station wagon, but unfortunately due to poor construction and quality of parts it is BROKEN. That was the highlight of my day, other then getting paid to go for a drive to Geelong, with petrol money from my boss.

the free air subs sound suprisingly good, in fact they sound much better without a box then when i had them boxed up to begin with. It was only luck that i got them, i didnt even know they were free air until somone told me, thats when i thought i could install them the way i did. With the design of the skyline boot, i highly recomend getting free air versions, as the sound fills the entire car, rather then just rattling the boot a lot.

is there a trick to getting the manual? I did what you said in emule, but i never find any files when i do the search??
-
that sounds like the exact same thing that happened to me about a year ago.... The RACV always pick up every stupid fault, and some that dont even exist... they told me the rear demistors didnt work (i can assure tou they do). What i found was the best thing was, being able to show the seller a long list of faults and being able to ge the price down even further (advertised for $16,500, bought for $14,500). The fact is that you are looking at a car that is 11 years old, it isnt going to be perfect to look at but as long as the engine is in good condition you will never regret the purchase for a second. Even if the first service is expensive and you need new brakes, you are still getting a mean piece of machinery, for the price of a commodore 5 years younger. My advice, buy it and worry about all the other shit later, because you will be having too much fun to care.

ideas on custom parcel shelf to suit 6 x 9 s
pooski replied to ICER33's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
just letting anyone who wants to know.... i have 7X10's... Kenwood, in the stock parcel shelf.... with no cutting of metal, they fit and dont let anyone tell you any different... there is at least a 1/4 of a mm of room on around the magnets and until i moved the battery about 1mm of clearence over the batter bolts!!! -
-
yeah i havnt thought about what would happen if i had to change my wheel.... there is access, but i would probably have to put it in the back/front seat.... i have also moved all of the electrical stuff so i dont think there will be too much problems there. Usually magnets mess up data storage but electrical wiring i believe is quite safe... my 7x10s used to be about 3mm away from the battery terminal, but i didnt have any problems there

the back windows in my one wound down too, but it left a weak spot between the two windows, that made it easy to break into... if i locked my keys in it, i could push a coat hanger in, and push the rear windlow winder sown enought to get my arm in and wind it all the way down.... then the cars all yours.... it also didnt help being able to open the drivers door with a knife..... this lef to 3 steriod being stolen.... i guess it shows how stubborn i am !
-
i used to have a skyline with pilarless windows.... it was a 1978 Nissan Skyline Datsun GL, had a 2.4 straight 6 and went like a datsun.... still better then a commodore.....
