what does cutting the wire do to the hicas.... if i have the limiter off and am driving over 180 on the track, will it affect my cornering?
-
i came accross this pic today, and i dont know whether to be inspired or scared.....
-
That is the worst thing i have ever heard.... i am again filled with merderous rage! the optimist in me says : "at least now you have an excuse to paint it the colour you always wanted" but yeah check this one out: only $1,500 on GunBroker.com
-
Thanks for that i will definately have to do it soon, but i am considering leaving my car badgeless and getting a new front grill without the space for a badge, at least until i finish uni at the end of the year!
-
 2 weeks ago some C$%T ripped the "S" off my car when i parked it at Monash uni... and as if that wasnt bad enough (ok $25 for a new one) on Saturday night another degernerate piece of bacteria stole the nissan badge from the boot... Now that one really pisses me off because i have a series 1 r33 and the badge matches the colour of the car..... I just wanted to know how many of you out there have been subject to the same experience as me and if the rage i feel is natural. I have been deeply considering buying a nice powerful rifle, re-badging my car and waiting in a tree for a few nights to get me some retribution!!!!!
-
that looks mad.... do you mind telling us how much you paid?
-
yeah all i have to do is take the bolts off and the whole face comes off and the wires just unplug
-
there is no box, its just a frame and a face with the subs screwed into them.... the battery and hicas fit in the shelf with a bit of rearranging. I am lucky that my amp is nice and small, there is another one under the passanger seat to run the rear spekers. i will take a pic of the space behind the subs when i take it off to fine tune the amp settings a little.
-
nav you gave me a very good idea.... i think i may cover the whole lot in perspex with a little bit of rice blue glow down the bottom

I finally got around to custom fitting my 2 12in pioneer free air subs into the boot of my R33. It took a while and there was a fair bit of fiddling round, but i am here to say that it is possible to have subs in an r33 and still have a working boot. People told me that it couldnt be done, and that the only way was to go to a professional fiberglasser, but they were wrong, all you need is some MDF to build a shelf for the battery, fuses and hicas, (and my amp) then a nice sturdy frame to bolt the subbies onto.... then presto:
-
the hicas computer is easy to move.... it just unscrews then you can screw it down again on the base of the shelf.... i have no idea why the people at nissan designed the boot the way they did.... every other part of the car is made with the idea that people will add to it, but the boot just seems inefficient to me, especially the tiny speaker holes and the positioning of vital equipment (hicas and battery) directly benieth the speaker holes, when there are many other places that they could go.
-
I had the same problems, but i have 7x10's and every audio shop i took it too refused to even try to install them (all afraid of a little hard work). But i eventually moved the hicas computer and slid them right in, there was about 3mm to spare between the speaker magnet and the battery fastner, but i am here to tell you it can be done

my mate ran 14.9 with his stock R33 series 2 a Calder a few months ago (he had a pod filter, and no other mods on stock wheels) .... i ran 14.5 with exhaust, pod and suspension on 245's running 11psi).....but there was lots of wheelspin and the 60ft time was 2.6

I have a type m front bar and am hoping to get a FMIC soon. What i was thinking of doing for looks and to get more air to the FMIC was cut away the plastic bar where the number plate usually goes and mount the plate under the indicator... Has anyone done this or have any photos of people who have??

Ok I had a little trouble with grip down at the track last time i was there, and several people have suggested that i get "Pinapples" to increase the grip. Only one problem, i dont know what these pinapples are, or how much they cost can anyone tell me: The technical name for them (i didnt find any "pinapples" listed in the suspension section of any parts sites). About how much they cost? What they do? are they worth it for street driving with the occasional trip down to the drags.

Thanks for all the advice guys i cant wait to go back and try some of the tips out on the track... I was actually running with my spare in the boot, and my wheels are 235, so ithink i am just a bit of a spaz. This may sound like a stupid question but what are these pinapples that people keep going on about -

yeah i wasnt being too professional about it, i left the spare tyre in, and didnt drop the pressure in the the tyres. My main problem was the helmet cutting out all the engine noise and screeching from the rubber. -
A while back i posted a thread asking for feedback on whether i would be able to beat my mates R8 Clubsport, 2000 model with my R33 gtst. Heaps of people replied with the general concessus being that it was going to be a close one. Well we took them down to Caulder Part on Friday night and i am sad to say he beat me by half a second. We didnt get to run side by side, but we compared times, and his best was 14 flat, with mine being 14.5. The slow times can be put down to 2 things i think, 1: It was our first time drag racing and 2: His car is an Auto. My car has 3.5" exhaust, POD, Boost controller, 235mm tyres, and is lowered. His has the Exhaust done, diff ratios changed, and his computer reprogrammed. So to sum up i just wanted to post the results for anyone who was interested, and give a couple of excuses as to why i bought shame to my fellow skyline drivers. Just thought i should also mention that my best time was on my second run, with low boost (8 psi). All my runst with high boost (11 psi) were slower with stupid amounts of wheelspin. The Verdict: I recon the cars are wbout the same speed, with the Clubby being slightly faster at top end, but i am shit driver (only been driving manual for 3 months), so thats why he had half a second.

i still like my idea of getting a big dog to live in your back seat.... a pit bull or doberman would work.... just have to figure a way of getting the dog shit off the seats. Dogs are better the junkies, they cost less and dont smell as much -
come on guys they sell for $228 new, check it out http://www.racerwheel.com/am-5899.html i am sure we can do a little better then $110
