so... ok, here's another question to throw out there. what's the quickers / cheapest / easiest way to get good power out of the mr2 (let's say a goal of 300 hp at the fly) whilst not raising concerns to things like intake temps etc. whether that be drop in the v6 or tweak a few things in the std engine... what's your opinions? I don't want to fk around with modifying chassis and getting stupid amounts of engineering etc etc. anyone know where to get a 3s-gte crate engine? like the tomei nissan engines you can buy? and opinions on whether a better option would be an sr20det... keeping in mind the cooling issue
-
sorry, poor explanation on my behalf. if i where to keep the 3s-gte, i'd like around 400 hp at the fly but i thought, with the v8... standard power would be more than enough in a car that light (working on a power to weight plus the fact that the displacement etc in the 1uz would make a pretty meaty ride in an mr2) also, if i went the v8, i could stick with an N/A option which (IMO) would be better maintenance and general expense wise. where as, staying with the std engine... i'd be upping boost, frequent oil changes, risk of blown turbo's, etc etc... you know what i mean? basically, i think it'd be nicer to have roughly the same power out of a standard N/A engine than out of a modified / std turbo one. that make sense? there's also the problem of keeping an mr2 engine intake temps cool because of the set-up they have (intercooler replacements etc are limited) so, upping the hp on a turbo engine (assuming that's a result of more boost etc) brings concerns of "can i keep it cool enough not to go bang?" lol!
-
Not that much ha ha! no, the reasoning behind the thought was simply to have a naturally aspirated engine that had the brute force without all the modifications... you could run the 1UZ in a car that light in std trim and have very satisfying results. Ultimately, around 3~400HP at the flywheel would be the goal but i don't want to have to spend 10's of thousands of dollars to get such a low output (not that that's a low figure for that engine but i can't justify in my mind, the cost of that kind of figure). opinions? yoshimitsu9: was thinking you could mate up a porsche box or something but again... costs start to get a lil stupid. So, basically, what people are saying is that the limitation is the space in the engine bay?
-
Hey all, I haven't found anyone who's even mentioned it before but I'm curios... can you put the 1UZ into a toyota MR2? The only barriers I could think of are: 1) will it fit in the bay? 2) can it be mated to the std gear-box / what gear-box would you be able to use? quick, simple question but i'd be interested in some detailed answers... there's got to be a reason no-one's done it i suppose but i'd like to know why. Cheers, Dave.

In Need In Desperate Advice! What Do I Wear To This Job Interview
DJ984 replied to rami's topic in New South Wales
mate, you can't go past the business atire. You'll look your best regarless of whether or not you'll be dressing up that much daily for the role. Remember, statistically, a person makes thier first impression of you within the first 7 seconds of meeting you so you want those 7 seconds to include a good presentation, a solid handshake and a kind and confident greeting followed by an appreciation for having you there in the first place. so a good handshake and a "hello, nice to meet you, thanks for taking the time to talk to me today" will do you the world of good. Also, remember that you'll be representing their company so if they see someone in jeans and someone in a suit, who do you think they'll have a greater confidence displaying their logo on? Best of luck with it Dave. -
Hi Guys, Just wanted to make a quick post in case anyone else is ever looking for a legal valuation on a car (/range of other things as well) I have recently dealt with Grahame Brook of Grahame Brook and Co Pty Ltd and I have to give him a big thumbs up. Grahame isn't the cheapest guy around but he provides an excellent service and if anyone ever needs a valuation, I'd suggest you give him a call. Contact details are as follows: Grahame Brook and Co. Pty. Ltd. Valuers and Consultants 3 Tallowwood Avenue, Lugarno. 2210. Phone: (02) 9584 9333 Fax: (02) 9534 6647 Mobile: 0408 239 281 Email: [email protected] I noticed that it wasn't an easy task finding a valuer when I needed one so I hope this info can help someone in the future. Mods: don't know if this is the right section but it seems the most appropriate..? Feel free to move / lock etc. Thanks, Dave.

R32 Rear Lights On R33 Sedan?
DJ984 replied to benny bobo's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)

Sounds good mate, cheers

Hey all, chasing down valuers at the moment... they need to be able to do a legal valuation (ie: one i can take to court) on my car that no longer exists (sounds like fun huh?). before you all get too worked up, there's plenty of people that do this already and they do it all the time, the purpose for this thread is to find recommendations and an idea on pricing (cost for the valuation). so... if you want to rant on with thoughts, take it to the wasteland cause I wanna keep this thread clean. But, if you have any valuable information regarding the above, please post it up. (as the title states, they need to be in Sydney and P.S. the car was a 32 GTR for those who haven't worked that bit out). Cheers, Dave.

http://rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/sevs/sevsindex.htm already but as above... only '01+ models... any possibility of the older?? for affordability... http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/modul...carID=123303985 if i could bring myself to put up the extra moolah, this would be the kinda base i'd want: http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/modul....php?storyid=28 (black or white one)

Oh! I had no idea they came with the 1UZ & Air-bags!! that makes them so much more appealing! I'm really fussy re: the kits on them tho... generally, it's an ok looking car but there's only few kits that make me want one. It is on the list tho my mental debate is between that and the celsior. Sexy as! but the current SEVS ruling is only for the 2001(ish) model isn't it? which is a little more than I want to spend Yeah, I've had that one bookmarked for a lil while now... How hard is it to find: *1UZ *Air-Bags *Leather Interior *Cheap ??? (My knowledge on the aristo's is very limited atm; thus my complete ignorance to the fact that they came with the 1UZ)... we could be on to something here (Funky: I think you're the person I'm really directing that too...?)
-
Don't tempt me... it's killing me to not let myself go nuts but i know it will be much better in the long run if i get a cef, i'll add drift mods (can't help myself) and spend more than I want
-
A celsior is my most likely purchase i think... there's one i really want but if i spend that much on a car, i'll have less to play with so i might get a pretty stock one and do a few simple mods.
-
Yeah, me neither really... more like a half-arsed VIP look... was thinking guard flares all round (the lil lip ones that bolt on - know the ones?) or maybe replacement flared guards on the front and guard flares on the back (more of a drift look); teamed up with a nice front and rear bar, LOW suspension (possibly air); tint, huge rims with plenty of dish and leather laden interior etc. you know what i mean?
-
Hey guys and gals, tossing up ideas for my next toy... as much as i'd like to build my cefiro, i want to put the money to better use while i have it (investments etc). So i'm looking at other options. Where can i find VIP style kits for r33 4 doors?? I want to see if there's anything that tickles my fancy and I can't find the old "body kits" thread. Also, over-fenders and flared guards...? (pics) Thanks in advance, Dave.
-
I thought the paint code for r34's was "Midnight Purple 3" not 2...? Also, "HKS Nismo Suspension"? damn i'm a picky son of a bitch lol!
-
Pretty sure it was under 30,000... but as i said, been wrong before. Just going of the Best Motoring DVD I've seen.
-
I've been wrong a few times before but i thought these guys had one... http://www.powerplayimports.com/includes/c...php?make=Nissan (keep scrolling down there) who also say it can be supplied here through them...? someone wanna bring me up to speed plz? Cheers, Dave.
-
That's the one! absolute machine! once again, let's erase my commodore references from all our memories before i get bitch slapped lol! aside from that, I don't see what makes it a bad idea beer baron? gov't rebate + cheaper fuel... mind you, i don't have a car at the moment so I have no standings on this topic what-so-ever lol!
-
There's a VL Turbo (in Melb i think) running 10's on straight LPG man... if they can do it then there's no reason you can't. i think their plates are LPG 747 or something like that, check out commodore forums and someone will point you in the right direction. **Now: let's never speak of me pointing anyone towards a commmodore again!!**
-
Probably gonna get flamed for this but i don't quite think that's a very just comment to make. everybody look at my signature BEFORE you respond to this post! In all honesty, with the amount of shit they have to deal with, how are they meant to prevent the thefts? They can't read minds, they can't sit outside every house with a nice car every night and keep watch and when you report it, do you expect them to fly a chopper over the suburbs looking for your car? Fair go, we wouldn't be able to do the job any better. (before someone jumps in and says "i'd take a batton to their heads" - let's keep in mind that they have restrictions and be realistic about our responses) In regards to chop-shops... once again, they can't read minds eh. Sorry for your loss, trust me, i know hoe you feel... at least you had some kind of cover on yours and at least they didn't break into your "secure car park" at home and take it... but let's not be unfair, we want to build a good rep with the authorities remember.
-
ha ha! still being soft man once this stuff with the R is sorted though I'm so keen to have one mad ass drift bitch cefiro!!! You'll know about it when i do! he he!
-
Hey man, I'd send Ando a pm (A31Deviat) he was real helpful with me. Cheers, Dave.
