  1. Ok "mate"... I didn't realise. I owned a series 1 quite a few years back and sold it due to a business venture overseas. I dropped out of the import scene for many years so I didn't realise they were standard. I honestly thought people were swapping them out. They definitely look much better. I think the GTR wing looks the best though (luckily enough I now enjoy a Series III R33 GT-R V-Spec). However, a GT-R wing on a GTS-t is ok but I can not stand a GTS-t trying to look like a GT-R (badges etc.).
  2. Anyone know of any available?
  3. Those are prob the only aftermarket wings that compliment the GTS25T's... The original wings aren't the greatest and there are so many on cars that have gone way too far. The wing you have looks great and suits the style of the car very well. Actually, Nissan should have made something like that as standard. Nice car overall.
  4. Are the original decals painted on or are they a high temp sticker? I am looking into getting my calipers resprayed and was wondering the best way to replace the brembo logo.
  5. Hello Members, As the title suggests, I am after a drivers side slimline weathershield for my R33 GT-R. Powerplay Imports can get a new pair for me but price is $390 for the pair! Obiviously, a little hard to justify. So I was wondering if anybody had one available or if there are any known aftermarket brands available?
  6. Ok, my car is now in the workshop. I have decided to add a bit more to the mix. This is what will be done... - Major Service (all with premium products) - Install Haltech Platinum Pro ECU (apparently a new version was recently released for R33 GT-R Skylines that plugs directly into the loom) - Replace timing belt with racing timing belt - Swap front rotors for slotted rotors - New Endless front brake pads - Dyno tune car - Paint Rocker Cover, Coil Pack Cover and Timing Belt Covers in a Dark Candy Red colour (with R34 ornamental badge). - I am also looking into getting the brake calipers done to match the engine covers. There might be more... I accidentally left the quote in my car in the workshop. I will request one e-mailed so I can keep updated with the work in progress. He said with the existing modifications that I already have (full HKS exhaust, Trust front mount intercooler, Apexi pod filters etc.) that I can expect 260 - 280 kw at all four wheels. The only downside is that I wont have the car for a week. It was also good to hear that they found the car was in excellent condition with no signs of accidents. It pays to take your time when choosing the right GT-R (I spent a whole week of annual leave looking at GT-R's, I must have inspected at least 20 - 30 of them in person and many more through the classifieds).
  7. There is no way that a R33 weighs 1750kg... Which websites are incorrectly stating that? R33 GT-R is 1530kg and the V-Spec version is 1540kg. So the the R33 and R34 are almost identical in weight bearing precedence to the fact that it is the superior components on the R34 that results in the better performance.
  8. What exactly does "missing under high load" mean? I haven't noticed anything like that at all. There is only one minor engine annoyance that I will have rectified asap. Sometimes when revs are high and suddenly dropped, like when approaching lights and popping it out of gear to brake, the engine sometimes stalls. I am sure this is an easy fix, that a regular service may resolve.
  9. I was considering going with Hills but it is quite a distance from me and a recent call revealed they are quite flat out at the moment. I am thinking about getting a Power FC put in... I guess to maximise the dollar factor with the tune I should probably get that done at the same time. I wanted to have a month or two with a good tune first, to see the difference that a Power FC made when put in later. However, I think I will get it done at the same time to save money. This Power Tune Workshop looks promising and is much closer to me. I am going to visit them tomorrow and see what vibe I get.
  10. I believe it keeps things cooler. Was there a specific reason for so many question marks? Do you have reason to believe there is something suspect about a car that you haven't even seen? It is in near immaculate condition apart from a couple minor things like the cover I am looking to acquire.
  11. Is that an R32 that you are talking about? It is quite interesting that 13.7 is mentioned as the quarter mile achievable for the earlier revision of the RB26 engine but you mention that 12.9 was achieved. I guess it depends on the driver. I guess a stock R33 could achieve a very similar time although with a slightly heavier weight it might be a fraction of a second slower Oh yes, I am aware of those benefits too. I agree that would add to the quicker time.
  12. 1 second shaved off from the revised RB26 that the R34 has... Interesting.
  13. I noticed a thread started about quarter mile times for a standard R35 GT-R... So, curiousity got me thinking what would be the best quarter mile time achieved for each of the models in standard, factory specification. I believe that the R34 can achieve high 12 second times running on standard equipment. If anyone can add quicker times than those listed below, please feel free to post these with supporting evidence. R32 GT-R: 13.7s R33 GT-R: 13.8s R34 GT-R: 12.98s R35 GT-R: 11.89s
  14. I just purchased a 1998 R33 GT-R V-Spec Series III and wanted to get a full service done, dyno tune, boost controller calibration etc. I was wondering if anyone has taken their Skyline to Power Tune at Fairfield East, Sydney? How would you rate the service? Value for money etc.? From their website, it looks like a good performance workshop but I would like to hear others opinions, good and bad. http://www.powertune.com.au/
  15. Ok, thanks to a member here, I now have a coil pack cover. However, I lack the bolts necessary to fit the cover! Does anybody here have a set of bolts for a RB26 coil pack cover. I need the 8 alan key bolts that hold the main part on, I need 2 more bolts (I have 2 already) for the metal heatsink thingy (sorry, don't really know what it is) and if possible 2 bolts for the rear (closest to the firewall). I would be willing to pay $20 for a full set of bolts that I need. I would even consider purchasing another coil pack cover if someone had the bolts I need to fit it... I will just have to try and sell the one I just got. If you have a coil pack cover with a full set of bolts, please PM your asking price. I know I could make a trip to Bunnings and try to find them but last time I did that it took me 30 minutes just to locate the right guage and thread type and even then I had to come home and saw some length off.... Unless anybody else has some advice?
  16. Anybody?...
  17. By the way, to state the obvious... Of course I am willing to pay for the cover. Please PM with your asking price.
  18. I am looking for a RB26 coil pack cover. Preferably red (from R34 GT-R) or black as a second choice, but even more important I would prefer something in good condition without chips or scratches. Please post here or PM if you have one available. I am in Sydney and can pick up at your convenience or I can pay for shipping interstate.
  19. Are you sure these seats are from a V-Spec II? They look grey like the V-Spec not the black colour that the V-Spec II seats are... It could just be the flash though.
  20. Thanks for the PM KR4-GTR, I certainly would love to look at a car like yours. However at this stage I can only spend $24,000. Like yourself I am quite pedantic and seek perfection. I want something that has been kept very well. I may not be able to find something to the level I desire for this price so while I keep shopping, I will keep saving... Then soon enough the crossroad to my perfect GT-R V-Spec will come... It might even be yours (if it's still available). PS: I couldn't PM back as I haven't quite hit 10 posts yet.
  21. After closer inspection and with the help from a professional, I am also under the impression that these are not genuine kilometres. What I find strange is that this car was located at a dealership which on numerous occasions on this board it has been mentioned how trusted and good they are... I'm starting to have my doubts.
  22. That is one hell of a package for the price. I am currently in the market for a R33 GT-R. I am trying to keep it $25k or under and build it up from there... But your car looks like it would save me a packet long term. Makes me want to work my butt off to save the extra cash. Out of curiousity, what does it hit on the dyno (kw)?
  23. Anyway, the inspection came back and it wasn't too favourable. I think I will start looking for something that costs a little more. I really don't want to end up with a lemon.
  24. I have driven the car. It drives quite well and has just had the shocks replaced as mentioned above. I did say it is freshly imported, perhaps I should have clarified that it has already landed and is compliance stages. At 75,000kms it is far from a lemon and like I said it only looks like a superficial kind of hit but that is why I will not buy until I have had a third party inspection. The interior is a little worn but I was intending to reupholster the seats in leather anyway (so it actually works better for me as slightly worn seats = more bargaining tools). Is there any other member here that could answer my question about the shocks? When replacing shocks for a R33 GT-R V-Spec, is there a particular brand that I should use? What exactly did you mean by that? Is that some sort of code (as in NO is short for number) or are you saying it means no to you that many times?
  25. I hope that didn't seem rude. I just don't wish to advertise where I am buying it from as I would still like to keep the upper hand when purchasing the vehicle with not too many other enquiries. Back to topic, can anyone add to my initial questions/post?
