  1. Yes, it is possible to initiate using the hand brake, but it is not at all the best technique for entry. If you follow drifting in Japan at all, or any of the current good drifters you will see handbrake entries are hardly used The best people do not use handbrake entries. Look at Suenaga, Nishida, Streeter. They all have amazing, unique style and do not use a handbrake to initiate a drift. This is a very recent video from Nikko, look at the technique and you will see they do not use handbrake for initiating The amazing video of Streeter drifting Meihan High speed on Nishi course at Ebisu Suenaga in a near-stock 180sx Handbrake entries are outdated, 'Aussie' and low-skill.
  2. ^^ Handbrake isn't an entry technique!!! That's such an 'Aussie' drifting technique - it's crap. Handbrake is a tool to use midcorner to extend your line, a tool, not a technique for initiating a drift. Do some research about real drifting before unloading bad advice on a good forum.
  3. Just FYI, those standard R31 radiators are great, they have a good cooling capacity.
  4. Hey guys, I'm selling a Greddy automatic turbo timer, $50. Cheers
  5. If you just Google each of the coilovers I mentioned above, you'll find all the information and stockist. Really though, if you want to start drifting, you are better off keeping the car reasonably standard, the only way you will learn and get better is track time. So spend your money on track time, tyres and fuel. Keep the car well serviced and upgrade/replaced things as you need to. Coilovers are a good upgrade, you might want to shim your diff to keep it locking, depending on what condition it's in. EDIT: Above, I meant MCA BLUE http://mcasuspension.com/blue-series/ Not red!
  6. I understand about the opinions etc, but bore sizes are easily found. Yep, the BMC will have 'BM44' or similar on the side of it, easy to check
  7. I wouldn't worry about internal or external reservoir as the feature to look for when you are buying coilovers. How much are you looking to spend? I'd consider: MCA Red (Red?) $1500 HSD HR $1200 BC BR $1200 - (ER are $1700 I think) Shockworks $1600 (Around that) As for getting your car track ready, I would just service it properly and make sure everything works (Do fluids, filters etc) and change your brake fluid to something a little better, then hit the track. No need to change anything, just learn to drive first.
  8. A quick Google search reveals: BM57 = 1 1/16" Found on R33 GTR I think. Really, though, you probably should do some Google searching, all of the answers you need can be found in about 30 seconds.
  9. A quick Google search reveals: BM44 = 15/16" and BM50 = 1"
  10. I'm not sure what bmc your r32 has now, but bm44 is a common upgrade. Bm50 is also available but massive.
  11. I've only heard bad things about diff dr.
  12. GTSBoy is right. You'll end up paying more in time, materials and labour to get custom adapters made, and you might still have difficulty with the fit. UAS are $350, GKTech can't be that far away, chances are getting your own made up will take a couple of weeks anyway. My vote goes to UAS or waiting for GKTech, I'm not sure making your own would be worth the time/money/bother.
  13. That's awesome, I thought the cars had to be rego'd. Can't wait to see this thing at WTAC mate! When will you be able to get some more testing done?
  14. There are other places which make adapters already, I'd just buy some off the shelf.
  15. How did you do a speed off the streets day? haha
  16. And use a better fluid too.
  17. This is only my opinion, but it seems like an expensive task when the situation could be made better by changing the oil ($100ish) rather than a clutch which it might not need (Clutch - $500? Machine flywheel $50, new flywheel bolts $65, pressure plate bolts $15 - $65 and a lot of work) Either way, new clutches are always nice.
  18. What if you pull out the gearbox and the clutch is fine?
  19. Zero chance of fitting 18x9.5 +22 with a 265/35r18 on the front.
  20. Sparco wheels for sale (Might look familiar) Please send me a PM if you're interested. 16x8 +22 with good brake clearance (R32 GTR non brembo with no spacer). Cheers.
  21. What about for S14? Any chance of finding a kit without the need to cut holes? Cheers.
  22. My current clutch is an Exedy Sports Organic HD - it's silver, not pink like many other Exedy clutches and has a coppermix sort of compound - like a poor man's Nismo Coppermix haha. My power is dead stock, SR20DET. My previous clutch was a bit of a mix, it was a 6 puck sprung brass button clutch (Exedy) but K&B Clutch Engineering in Sydney modified the pressure plate and increased the clamp load to around 1300kg. That was used with a stock RB30E, no smell either. Both very low power applications.
